Don't forget that Dads go free this Father's Day, with a paying child (big or small)!

We visited this on Friday of last week. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and Robbie's enthusiasm. We learnt a lot and would recommend it to any friends visiting York, it is certainly not to be missed. We still have our chocolate lollypops we made but for how long I'm not sure.

Well done to everyone, your customer care is top notch.

User

We had a great time. Tom, our guide, was really good - very knowledgeable and approachable. There was plenty of chocolate to taste and it was suitable for all the family.

User

We came today with children from Macaulay Primary school, Grimsby. We all had a fantastic time, thank you so much for having us. The guided tour was brilliant and so was our tour guide Steven. All of the staff were great with the children and very patient, especially in the workshop. I will be back with my own daughter at some point!

User

Visited today with our children (5 and 3) and had a tour with Emma. We all loved the tour, tasting all the chocolates, making our chocolate lollipops and most importantly how much it all appealed to all ages. Would recommend for anyone to visit, well worth the money.

User

Tour guide was fabulous ( tinsel ) also loved that santa was with us for the whole thing. Both santa and tinsel the elf were so lovely and amazing with my youngest who is only 1. Got a gift bag at the end with big photo each with santa, the chocolate lolly they made each, reindeer food and a decent toy. Kids were over the moon 😍

User

To be honest we weren't particularly bothered about coming here at first, but we are all glad that we did! It is an excellent guided tour that isn't boring at all. There are free samples and you get to make/decorate your own chocolate lolly :) It was very interesting about the origins of chocolate and York's influence to Chocolate. I had no idea about most of what they taught me. I'm not sure if it's particularly great for children due to the guided content but I definitely recommend adults who love chocolate to go!

User

This is a superb attraction. The kids loved learning about the history of chocolate (far more interesting than it sounds) and our tour guide (Catherine?) was really nice and helpful. The girls enjoyed the free samples, the chocolatier and lolly-making and it was the centrepiece of a great day out in the city. Thoroughly recommended.

User

Our tour guide was Alfie. Absolutely fantastic job, from first greeting us as we came out the lift to handing us over to the chocolatier to make our lollies. He was so enthusiastic and kept everyone interested from the youngest in the group to the oldest. I can not recommend the tour enough. Unfortunately there was only one down side the toilets, unfortunately they were a bit dirty and smelly and the door on the disabled toilet didn’t shut properly without lifting it slightly as it had slipped. I am sad to put a down side as all the staff are so nice

User

Our tour guide Emma was so enthusiastic and professional. She seemed to really love her job. We were the last group of the day but felt like we were the first as she put 100% into what she was saying and doing. That girl needs a promotion. What a well mannered and polite young lady and clearly spoken to which made the tour easy listening and enjoyable. The chocolate at the end was yummy.

User

Learned a lot about chocolate I didn't know before.Tour guide Kathryn did a fantastic job and had a lovely friendly manner as did the the guy who did the choc decorating demonstration whose name I have forgotten! Brilliant afternoon, thank you.

User

Had a great day today visiting the Chocolate Story. We decided to do both the museum tour and the Easter Egg hunt later in the day. The tour was very informative, and interesting for both children and adults. It was great to try chocolate at different stages of the process to the finished tasty product.

Our tour guide was Becky, who was very knowledgable. She was friendly and informative, and interacted well with the "characters from history" that appear along the way.

The tour lasted around an hour and half, and we came out with our own decorated chocolate lolly.

We later came back for the Easter egg hunt, but decided to get there early, so we could have some cake in the cafe. Would definitely recommend the chocolate orange cake. The only downside was the space in the cafe was limited and the staff were very busy, so tables weren't getting cleared very quickly. But the cake made it worthwhile!!

The Easter Egg hunt was great fun. My son loved it and the three characters who were involved were really good, at acting out the adventure, making the games fun and general interaction with the children. As an adult, I was just jealous of the amount of chocolate the children received on the adventure!!

Thank you for an enjoyable day. We Would definitely recommend a visit and will return, particularly around Easter!!!

User

Had a fabulous day yesterday, took my son who missed out on his school trip a couple of weeks ago when he was poorly. So glad i took him, was a very enjoyable day. Lots of interesting facts, not too long and lots of choc samples what a not to love!

User

Didn’t go on the tour but went into the shop and had a mint hot chocolate and a small tub of chocolate buttons which was lush. The only change I’d make is the size of the toilets, super tiny and struggled to shut the door as the sink was in the way but other than that it was lovely xx

User

Absolutely loved the tour! Guide Robbie was a sweetheart and made it so much fun. Lovely staff and creative ways of telling an interesting story. Will come back one day xx

User

Absolutely love this place. Great café..lovely Josh helped us then Lee did our tour..he was great..so full of information and took time to answer out questions. Plenty samples and a great time again!

User

We visited today for my chocoholic son's birthday treat. Our pleasant and knowledgeable tour guide Robbie, was helpful and keen to make sure everyone got the most out of the tour. We had plenty of samples, some more pleasant tasting than others and an opportunity to make our own chocolate lollies.

If I had any recommendations I would suggest the number of people on each tour should be reduced slightly as it did feel a bit of a squeeze to gather around exhibits.

Oh and more chocolate, just because.

User

Great attraction. Interesting bit of history, interspersed with various tasting opportunities, which held the interest of the children. You get to make your own chocolate Lolly and see how they make filled chocs too. Very enthusiastic guides. Not cheap, but reasonable value given the tastings

User

Confusing pricing for disabled carers. Came yesterday and asked for adult and carer but articles said carer free but ended up being charged £30 For three of us so no discount at all. However the story was good it's just a shame about the price. We really rely on discounted tickets to ensure we can help support our son and allow him to experience as many locations as possible to stimulate his mind and senses. What didn't help us was a family group with two carers were only charged £12.50 For four of them.....

User

Very disappointed not a lot to do for children not what we were expecting not worth the money you paid to go in 😟😟
