The work is as and when rather than fixed hours and mostly on a weekend, so we are looking for someone that can use the role as a hobby or needs extra work that pays rather then someone that depends on a regular wage.
You will need to have some instructing experience and be fun at the same time and enthusiastic personality. Whilst the job is fun, we do require staff to be professional, reliable and flexible to meet ...the needs of our small but growing business.
No formal qualifications needed, but experience helps . Instructor to run archery, Rifle shooting,bushcraft ,team building tasks and Axe throwing sessions. Full Training will be provided for the right person. You must be fun and outgoing with a good work ethic.
The work is mostly on a weekend, so our instructors often have other jobs through the week. However. we operate 7 days per week so there are opportunities to do additional days.
Rate of pay from £8-£10 an hour

Wow! We had an absolute blast at Archery on Saturday! My husband and I took our 8 year old son and all three of us really loved it, our instructor was really professional but also really fun and he taught us so much in just 1 hour! Have told loads of people they MUST go, great fun, especially popping the balloons and going for the apple! x

We went here for my hen party and had THE best afternoon! We did ace throwing, archery then the air rifle last. Each activity was very fun, very well explained and instructed (by very friendly, helpful staff) and we had lots of time actually doing the activities. Great value for money, definitely will travel back :)

We visited today (2 adults and 2 teenagers). Booked the AAA package for the teenagers but the adults joined in the archery and my husband was able to join in the air rifle shooting. We all had a fantastic day. All the staff were extremely friendly and our instructor, Ian, was great. He explained everything about each activity in a fun way and gave coaching tips along the way. He was extremely patient with us all. We had ample time on each activity and we were not rushed at all.

I would thoroughly recommend a visit to the Yorkshire Activity Centre. Many thanks to Ian for making our visit such a fun filled day!

We came yesterday to celebrate my husband's 30th birthday. Booked in for the AAA package: Archery, Air Rifle and Axe throwing. These were all new experiences for me (husband has done archery before). The thought of being outside all day filled me with dread but I wanted my husband to have a memorable birthday. All of the activities were well resourced, with little games to allow for competition and excitement thrown in. We had such a fantastic day, but the best part of the whole experience was Keith, or instructor. He was knowledgeable, hilarious, informative and really demonstrated a love for his job. At first I couldn't even hold the bow, but with his guidance I was soon beating my husband! Axe throwing was comical, with Keith showing us how to adjust our stance and aim to get the best shot. When we got to the Air Rifles, I struggled to even look through the scope but Keith was brilliant at giving instructions that even I could follow and again, I progressed that much that I beat my husband again! A perfect day, cannot wait to go back.

We came to yorkshire activity centre last weekend for my son's birthday party. We did the survival kids party with archery and bushcraft. He loved it and the others kids enjoyed it too. The instructor was great with the kids (most about 7 years old). They were really impressed with the fire lighting, popcorn and toasting marshmallows. It made a really nice change from the typical kids parties, great to be outdoors & trying new things. They will remember this for some time. Thank you so much.

We came here last Saturday for my Sons 18th birthday 23rd June, we had booked to do axe throwing & archery. I had done a little archery on holiday one year but other than that pretty useless & clueless, the others had done a little before at another Activity centre & all agreed that this one was the best.



Everyone from booking over the phone with Kylie ( got the same price as offered on a groupon) to the welcome we received & our instructer was top class.



I really thought I would be totally rubbish but our Fab instructor Ian made sure we all got the required amount of advice & guidance needed...it's amazing how competative you become & how you really want to do well & improve, as we threw the axe or fired a shot Ian was on hand to give you a little advise or pep talk to keep everyone upbeat.

I thought 2 hours would drag but it flew by & I can honestly say we all enjoyed it & had a good laugh.. it was so well organised but Ian really was a super instructor. Another family joined us but it was such a good friendly atmosphere , my Son is Autistic but he felt very relaxed.



Great time had by all & thoroughly recommend to anyone, a very lovely safe way to spend a few hours & try something new. Thanks guys

We bought the Triple A package including Air Rifle, Archery and Axe Throwing. These alone would be good fun, but the games and tasks provided by the hosts make them better.



Host for the day had a very good sense of humour, even after my 15th miss with the axe!



Highly recommended for a great day out.

We booked here for a works party, the team were great in helping us get it all booked and organised as we had over 50 people attending and the team scheduled all the activities for the 5 groups which made my life a lot easier! And they were also really accommodating with the outside catering that we brought in and making room for the Hog Roast!!! Then onto the day itself and I loved all the activities, Axe Throwing has to be my favorite though and Sam was a great instructor! All the team there are very welcoming and put you at ease straight away and help you to at least hit a target in all the activities! haha! Ian was great with the lawn games too which provided much amusement! Will definitely book again for a works do but will also be going back personally with family and friends!

Ian, our instructor, was knowledgeable, friendly and amusing, without him, we wouldn't have been able to do these activities. I took my boyfriend to Yorkshire Activity Centre for his birthday & we did the AAA package. We had an absolutely AMAZING time from start to finish! It completely exceeded all expectations and we’ve already decided we want to go back and do it all again. We both thoroughly enjoyed the Axe Throwing & Air Rifle Shooting with the highlight for us being a private session of Air Rifle Shooting with Keith. We both knew we enjoyed shooting before we went but I think we both surprised ourselves at how good we were!! Keith’s coaching & training was second to none & we really would love to go back again & see if we can improve further with his expert guidance. Thanks to all of the team for a wonderful day - you went above and beyond to make my boyfriends birthday extra special & we can’t thank you enough! 5* DAY!!

I came here with a group of girl friends for my hen party and it was the best day from start to finish. I thought I was absolutely pants at throwing but, with some expert guidance from kiosk Keith, I was hitting the target (even hit two targets with two axes at the same time). When it came to the riffle shooting I did struggle a little as they were quite large and I’m not very tall so much to the amusement of the hens I was given a junior riffle, they stopped laughing once they realised that it put me back in the running. We then moved on to archery which bought out the competitive side of the group. The instructors were really accommodating, informative and funny and ensured everyone’s safety at all times without taking the fun out of it. Everyone had such a laugh. Would really recommend this place. Thanks for a fab day

I came here on a Wednesday and it was really quiet so I thought it would be awkward but I couldn’t be anymore wrong! There was two instructors there and they were really funny and made you feel so welcome! We did the AAA package; archary, air rifle and axe throwing and we had such a wonderful time! Hudson is really funny and brought the competitive side in us both! If you’re looking for something to do as a couple or a group I couldn’t recommend this place more!

I booked the AAA (archery, air rifle and axe throwing) package for my Husband and my Dad and had a fantastic time - even myself and my Mum who were just spectating felt involved in the fun! The instructor Ian was fantastic, really informative and helpful.

I'd recommend this place for anyone who likes this kind of thing, it's a great location and you get to spend a good amount of time on each activity, with competitions/games added in to keep things exciting!

Bought the archery and axe throwing package for my husband and it was way more fun than I anticipated! The instructors are super at making the boring bits (health and safety, terminology) seem fun, and really help you to hone your skill in a short space of time. I have a newfound love of archery and my husband still thinks he’s a Viking after some top notch axe throwing! I highly recommend Yorkshire Activity Centre for a fab day out!

Amazing Day Out To Celebrate Work Summer Party!



I had an amazing time taking part in line games, axe throwing, archery and rifle shooting. I enjoyed the competitiveness between the teams. The line games were really funny with my team, attempting to make sure everyone understood. All the instructors were really friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The instructors were very entertaining too which made our experience more personal. I would really like to thank Sam for her help as she put everyone at ease and made me feel more comfortable about axe throwing. My best shot was actually when I was blind folded, still didn't hit any targets haha but was a great experience. Axe throwing was probably my favourite but I have to say air rifling was interesting and fun. Thank you to Keith for your help and saying I have great consistency haha for a total score of 0. I had an excellent time with everyone and highly recommend visiting! �

Absolutely fantastic 3 hours shooting rifles, axe throwing and archery. My 11yr old was too young for shooting so I did that along with my husband and friend then daughter did archery and axe throwing. Instructor was very knowledgeable and fun. Would highly recommend this centre. We were staying at Nurseries Caravan Park so it was perfectly situated for us to walk to but there is plenty of parking. You can get juice and snacks from the centre or the site office. Great value and great fun.

A belated birthday present from my darling other half. The instructor for the day was Ian, and we were part of a group of 8. Ian was very funny and very knowledgeable about each activity, and didn't worry too much about timings, but made sure everyone took part, felt included and had a good time. The archery was brilliant, axe throwing awesome and the shooting top notch. We started on a 3-hour session that lasted nearly 4 and could have gone on for a lot longer without any complaints from us. We will certainly aim to go again, maybe with a few more people we know.
