Fantastic building (especially after the renovations a few years ago), that often hosts free and paid exhibits by both well known and more local artists (generally contemporary), as well as a range of other events from time to time. Worth a visit if in Bexhill or interested by what they have on, although the space inside isn't huge. The cafe on the top floor's okay, but nothing special.

Little bit enclosed when you first walk in but i went on a crowded day. Staff helped when i needed it even thougb they were extremely busy and the lighting seating and sound was well arranged and thought out. It was classy and also clean. Good night out right next to the beach...

This is a glorious building. Always a good experience in terms of the various facilities. The food is OK and the service is usually pleasant and efficient. The views from the balcony are extensive and impressive. The exhibitions, which change regularly, can be challenging, amusing, baffling, but always worth experiencing. Bexhill must continue to cherish and support this masterpiece, not only as a venue for the arts, but as a treasure for future generations to enjoy.

Superb modernist building in an incredible setting overlooking the sea. It is worth the trip and a coffee on the balcony. the exhibitions are usually worth visiting as well thought they are on the edgier side of art usually and not to everyone's taste.

Neat building on the coast. This could have been a 5 star review if not for the staff. My wife and I popped into the venue well before the show to check it out. A sign clearly stated there was no reentry with a torn ticket. We looked around without entering the concert hall. When we went to leave, a staff member told us there was no reentry. We tried to explain that we hadn't torn our ticket stubs yet, but they were having none of it. I was worried they wouldn't let us back in because we were recognizable, so we stayed and waited. We had balcony seats, but were unable to enter the standing room area for no apparent reason, besides a staff member telling us we were not allowed. So we decided to stand in the back of the balcony area. After a few minutes a staff member came and told us that this was not allowed either...My wife was clearly pregnant and the seats were uncomfortable, and we weren't about to stand in our seats because there were people behind us. Overall a frustrating experience.

Iconic and entirely remarkable venue, the building is a work of art. I drive miles for the Cod and chips at times. A default second home.

A must visit when in Bexhill. Free gallery/exhibitions and good venue for tea/food too. Nice toilets.

Completed in 1935, this lovingly-restored modernist masterpiece is an icon of international art deco and streamline moderne movements. Appropriately, it houses temporary exhibitions of modern and contemporary art, which - astonishingly - are free to view. The sweeping horizontal lines and clean exterior recall at various points a steamliner, Zeppelin, and industrial warehouse: all conscious associations for the architects. As you stand on the veranda and gaze out over the Channel, it's hard not to feel like a character from a 1930s murder mystery.

Great venue. Getting more and more current and quality live acts now. Do a nice pale ale which helps! Also have had some great exhibitions here.
