Upfront Gallery/Puppet Theatre/Performance Venue/Accomodation

Great little cafe/restaurant featuring good variety of veggie. The art gallery has a mix of local and national artists and frequently changing group exhibitions and solo shows. There is also a small theatre which majors on puppetry but also hosts folk and world music concerts.

Nice gallery. Great vegetarian food

Mostly a gallery space featuring paintings, crafts, sculpture from local and across the world. It's an amazing place to find off a road to the Cumbrian town of Wigton. There is a small cafe serving vegetarian foods and home baked cakes, all quite good.
There is puppet theatre with occasional live performances that require booking if you want to see these.

This is a real gem. Beautiful old style puppets and very skilled and passionate performers. We've been twice and are going a third time later in the summer. I'd go and see anything they were producing to be honest because their standards are so high.

There's also an interesting gallery and gift shop and an excellent mostly vegetarian cafe. And vegetarian or not the cake selection is extensive and delicious.

It's perhaps a bit out of the way but the drive to it is through beautiful countryside so look on that as a virtue not a vice.
