Today's transtormation.
Foilayage with lightener to strip out clients existing tints and then mixed permanent and demi dyes in orange red and pink to create this gorgeous phoenix blend. Plus shadow root for depth. Olaplex and a trim did their magic too so hair feels better than when we started. This appointment took nearly 5 hours.

I am on an extremely reduced work schedule at present due to having a spell of bad mental health. My huge thanks to the flexibility and kindness of all the clients I have had to cancel on recently, and to the ones that have come for being so gentle and brilliant with me and letting me express my skills and creativity when able.
This particular client came to me with long very over processed hair and roots they had tried to lift for themself. Followed by 6 weeks of sun sea a...nd chlorine.
She had very realistic expectations about needing a hair cut and to try and blend out the hard contrast and warmth in roots vs ends. The result took 3.5 hours and is a lovely first step to getting her back to a light clean blonde all over. But for now it's a gorgeous relaxed balayage ombre.
Never forget blonde is a journey.
I am tentatively opening up some bookings for next week. Preferential booking obviously goes to those that I have had to cancel on in the last week.

Very long and exhausting but wonderful day working with 4 of my long term regulars.
No photo of my 3 and 4 clients but look at this incredible results from earlier today. Even remembered to get a before and during shot for the big transformation!! None of these photos have been edited.

HOW TO BECOME A BLONDE:
if you have dyed your hair yourself with dark dyes, and you want to become a blonde and not lose all your hair, it takes money, patience and a massive dose of realism. This is a start to end montage of one clients journey over the course of a year. I am very good but I can't perform miracles! Luckily this excellent human chose to enjoy each different stage for its own lovely merits. And as you can see, she looks gorgeous in every one.

So I have been working my socks off recently and as always have in 99% of cases completely forgotten to evidence it for you guys. But here's why- my clients are not marketing tools. I LOVE being able to show off happy customers and it's a reality that people need to see my work to want to book- it it's also not my MO to use clients to get more clients.
So when I do remember and people are happy for me to share stuff I shpu ld get better at d doing so. On which note- I'm con...stantly asked by duly concerned curly haired humans if this is something I can work with. My answer is yes :) I will also always champion short queer shapes and bright colours. I even occasionally do hair and makeup for brides.
I'm on holiday for the next couple of weeks but please get in touch for the first weeks of September as it's already filling up.

More happy selfies!!

Haven't posted any work photos in ages because I hate marketing/selling to you guys more than I hate cold brussel sprouts. 🤢
However- you all know that happy client selfies are my favourite way that people say thank you. So here are a few highlights from this week. Huge loves to everyone here and all the people that for many reasons cannot have their face online but sent me messages saying they too loved their hair.
I'm currently booking for middle of next week :)

So through donations from the kindness of strangers and very helpful friends- I now have a proper workstation. So much better for you and for me! No more awful knee bruises from the crappy camping table! My gratitude to the patience of my clients who have been putting up with that terrible experience until now. (Yes that is a butt bowl for holding my towels 😅)

Wonderful experience from start to finish! Being listened to without judgement, with prejudice, about what I wanted for my hair was just amazing. Emily is so warm, so friendly, so easy going....everything was just fab. Emily - I love the cut...THANK YOU

So good to find a pro hairstylist who doesn’t make assumptions about my sexuality, gender or the aesthetic I’m wanting from my hair — and even rarer to find one who takes me in, and crafts a shape and texture that moves like I do (an intergalactic My Little Pony that’s been in a skip for six months). In short: banging, thank you!

I've been going to Emily for many years and always had the perfect haircuts done by her. I've had a couple of big transformation haircuts (from long to bob and bob to pixie) and only trust Emily to get them right. I always get a lot of compliments for my haircuts Emily has done too. And she's lovely and will make you feel comfortable and there's no forced small talk. Would 100% recommend Anhairchy.

I let my roots grow out for waaay too long but Em bleached me up and toned it beautifully! I had the Olaplex and a trim too so my hair feels really healthy! Most of the time i end up leaving my roots for so long cause I cant afford to get them done but this was suuuper affordable. Em was also just the lovliest human, and she even gave me a vegan donut while my hair was developing!

I had such a lovely time with Emily, I felt she really listened to what I wanted and worked with me to find the best outcome for my hair. It looks gorgeous and I loved the non salon environment. Highly recommended!

I am very happy to have taken a chance on a new hair stylist and opting for a freelancer rather than a salon. Emily was lovely from start to finish, courteous, friendly and dedicated. Far and away the best hair appointment I've ever had, Emily was so relaxed and cool to work with! She came to visit me due to my slipped disc and was attentive, caring and careful with me. I absolutely LOVE my hair. Both colour and cut were done with ease and fun, and Emily was very reassuring given that I hadn't bleached my hair since I was 15!! She did a fantastic job and I cannot recommend her enough , especially to anyone nervy about salons/haircuts in general. Thank youuuu!

Emily worked with me to create an easy to take care of style that really suits me and looks good even if I just wash it and let it dry naturally! She’s extremely easy to get along with and great value. All in all she’s a total hair goddess and I’m happier with my hair than I have been in years.
