10 REASONS TO GET A FACIAL
1. Expert Skin Analysis - Wherever you go to buy your skin care products- department stores, pharmacies, etc.- chances are they see your face with your make up on. The benefits of getting your skin analysed through professional facials are that the therapist will see you without makeup to reveal your true skin complexion. This allows the therapist to cater to your unique needs through professional treatments and suggest the best products for your ho...me care routine.
2. Professional Strength Exfoliation - Most facials include a professional form of exfoliation using ultra sound, microdermabrasion crystals, enzymes, or acids. Some of the exfoliating ingredients mentioned can be spotted in ordinary skin care products but during a facial you will experience the treatment at a professional strength.
3. Clean Out Blackheads and Clogged Pores - With proper preparation and skin softening techniques your therapist will use a skilled method to gently extract clogged pores, blackheads, and impurities without causing harm to your skin. People usually have a difficult time eliminating blackheads at home because home care products can only help to reduce clogged pores
4. Intensive Hydration - Every skin type needs hydration. It does not matter if you have oily, acne prone skin, or dry and flakey skin, your skin cells are like fish and need water to survive. In order to maintain healthy skin it is imperative to keep it hydrated.#
5. Increase Circulation to Encourage a Glow - There is no doubt that when blood circulation slows, the skin’s health is impaired. Aging leads to slowed circulation, which inevitably results in dull, tired looking skin.
6. A Scope for Skin Cancer - Skin cancer is on the rise so it continues to become increasingly important to regularly check your skin for changes to moles and to look out for abnormal skin growths. Usually these changes are so subtle and develop at a slow pace so over time you may not notice what’s going on.
7. Stress Release - Aside from the various skin benefits facials offer, facials are extremely relaxing and immediately de-stresses you physically and psychologically. Imagine a room with dim lighting, soft music, and a warm, comfy bed. Then add on a face, neck, and shoulder massage.:)
8. Problem Solve - Whether it’s dry skin, brown spots, redness, irritation, or inflamed acne, a good facial is always customized to focus on what your skin needs to help solve your skin problems.
9. Professional Advice - During a facial you are with an therapist for over an hour. This creates an opportunity for the therapist to give you her professional advice, skin tips and tricks, but also, during the consultation, you have a chance to ask questions that you have been curious about.
10. Because You Deserve It!!!

BEAUTY TIP : Five Ways to Reduce Oil Production in Skin
1. Always use a gentle cleanser to wash your skin. Avoid the ingredients Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Ammonium Laureth Sulfate and Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate in your cleaners.
2. Use an alcohol-free toner left damp on the skin before applying oil-free lotion.
... 3. Use lightweight, oil-free moisturizer. Avoid the ingredients Mineral Oil, Petroleum and Petrolatum in your moisturizer as these may suffocate the skin and clog the pores.
4. Blot your skin throughout the day with blotting papers or tissue paper. Truly, it’s the fastest and easiest way to get rid of oil.
5. Never leave your skin bare for longer than 60 seconds after washing, otherwise necessary water will evaporate out of the skin. (Read more about why you should never leave your skin naked.) Follow immediately with alcohol-free toner and moisturizer.
Bottom line: If you’re someone who cleanses skin in the morning only to find an oil slick by noon, it’s definitely a dehydration issue, and don’t let anyone tell you anything different. Lastly, drinking water is the least efficient way to hydrate the skin so drinking water is not a cure.

BEAUTY TIP : BEST WAY TO SHRINK LARGE PORES
kin Care Tip of the Day: Large pores are an indication of how much oil you produced when you were in your teens—the formative years for your pore size. When your skin rapidly pumped out the oil, the walls of the pore stretched wider resulting in larger pores. For those who were very oily all over the face (genetics), their pores will be larger everywhere, while those that produced oil only in the t-zone, their larger pores are confi...ned to that area. And for those that barely produced oil, their pores still remain small to this day.
My pores seem to be getting larger the older I get?
Many people might also complain about their pores appearing larger as they get older. They aren’t getting larger, but they can appear larger. Why? When your skin is young and the skin is tight, large pores (which are essentially small indents in the skin caused from oil production in your teenage years) won’t be very noticeable. As you get older, due to gravity and the weakening of the elastin fibers within the skin, the pores appear larger because they indent further into the skin since the skin is no longer pulled back as tight.
What can you do to make the pores appear smaller? …
The best way to reduce the appearance of large pores is to exfoliate often. By using a combination of both physical exfoliants (facial scrubs with round grains) and chemical exfoliantes (like alcohol-free glycolic serums) on a regular basis, this will help remove surface dry cells so the opening of the pores are less deep making them look smaller. Chemical exfoliants also get into the pores and help to keep them cleaned out.

SKIN TIPS TO LOVE THE SKIN YOU IN
Wrinkles - Avoid drinking out of straws. The pursing of the lips causes unnecessary wrinkles. Save that expression for kissing!
Under Eye Puffiness - To prevent under eye puffiness, sleep with your head slightly elevated (on two pillows) to reduce fluid retention. It’s also important to avoid using heavy eye cream.
... Large Pores - The best way to shrink large pores? Exfoliate often. This reduces how deep the pore indents into the skin resulting in a smaller-pored look.
Oily Skin - Treating oily skin with harsh products only makes the skin produce more oil.
Dry Skin - After cleansing, IMMEDIATELY use a toner and moisturizer. If you leave your skin bare for more than 1 minute, it will start to dehydrate.
Sensitive Skin - Most people think they have sensitive skin because they get irritated to harsh products. It’s the harsh products that are the problem, not your skin.
Dull, tired-looking skin - Has your skin lost its glow? Simple....Exfoliate!
Tomorrow, I'll dwell deeper into a one of the above skin care tips.

BEAUTY TIP : EYELINER
Practice Makes Perfect. This same philosophy holds true for makeup application!
Whether you are new to eyeliner, trying to get the hang of gel or cream liners, wanting to get the extended eyeliner flick just right, or just experimenting with a new look,Practice eyeliner at night, right before washing your face.To apply the eye pencil... 1.Gently create a taut eye, pull your lid away from the eye very lightly using a Q-Tip or your finger.Prefer using Q-Tip,its much more gentle. 2.Draw a line ,start from the middle and out in small strokes then start from the front to back. 3.Do the similar with both the upper lids.
If you mess up, you are going to wash it all of anyways. Once you starting getting it right, then you are ready to do the look and your practice has lead to perfection!
Note:To make a sharpened pencil softer and more straightforward to apply, you’ll draw a couple of strains first on the again of your hand. This may increasingly melt the end and get the colour flowing.

BEAUTY TIP : HOW TO WEAR DARK LIPSTICK
If you love deep and dramatic lip colors but have been afraid to try them out, then these makeup tips will give you all the confidence you’ll need to wear dark lipstick.
* To avoid your dark lipstick fading before the party’s over or disappearing and leaving you with just your lip liner (not a good look), apply some lipstick primer, foundation or translucent powder to your lips before you apply your liner and lipstick. It will help your ...makeup to stick and the color to stay on your lips for as long as possible.
* If you’re wearing a dark red lipstick, enhance the color with a subtle touch of pink blush on your cheeks. It’ll also keep your skin from looking washed out.
* Balance strong lips with a subtle face. Keep your foundation flawless and natural looking, only apply blush if your face needs a slight touch of color, and let a nice coat of black mascara be the only makeup you apply to your eyes. It’ll give your peepers some definition and length and compliment your strong lips.
* For the ultimate no fail shade, choose a dark lipstick that will match your skin tone. Cool skin tones should choose dark lipsticks with blue and cool undertones, while warm skin tones should look for dark shades that are warm or golden (think oranges and browns)
* If your lips are thin, try dark reds instead of intense black and browns as they will make your lips even slimmer.

Q&A : How often should you change your mascara? I've heard that old mascara has bacteria that can give you an eye infection.
Yes this is true. When you buy mascara, look on the back of the tube. Its usually where all the ingredients or where the bar code is, and there is a little jar like symbol and usually says things like 3M or 6M, which means how many months it lasts. These are on all cosmetics. Each brand and formula, have different expiry dates. Also never pump your mascara, as this lets in air and bacteria. Instead twist the wand like you are unscrewing the lid.
