Acorn Fishery

...ATTENTION PLEASE...
We would like to inform you of a few changes at the fishery in preparation for re opening. We have been rather busy and drained the lake and removed all small carp/silver fish and have put back in 386 carp in total. 106 of these were over 20lbs with the normal 30lb+ fish too. Before the fish were put back we removed all of the silt back to the firm bottom increasing the depth to nearly 7’. Leaving the original features from when we first excavated the p...ool. As well as this we have protected some of the banks where we encountered heavy erosion creating most of the silt. A new island has been created by peg1/15. We have also re profiled some of the banks ready for a new tree planting scheme to take place for a better more tranquil take around the lake. The damaged caused by the machines on the road has led us to reinstate a new track around too. The fish have been enjoying a few weeks of rest. We also have decide to make the fishery BOILIE ONLY.. this is something that has been on my mind for a while now solely for the benefit of the carp and moving them in the right direction. I feel now is the time to implement this and hope everyone can get on board with it. As from this Sunday the main lake on the fishery will be closed for around 3 weeks for some works. Please bear with us we can assure you it will Massively improve the fishery for the future. the Paddock lake and the tackle shop will remain open per normal but please do not attempt to walk around the fishery as you will be asked to return to the car park thanks in advance 🐳🐳🐳

Shawn had this nice 25+ mirror on an overnighter between work as he was packing up this morning. Almost made him late 😂🎣👌

The fish seem to be spread out and willing to feed on the lake atm.

Joe had his first session of the year this weekend in Peg 5, and managed to bag this pristine mirror. Joe used a 15mm Manilla Wafter fished over hemp and Maize 👌🏻well done mate

Luke had this lovely common using a Buchu Berry wafter topped with maggot, fished with a pva bag of maggot and pellet.

absolutly fantastic, fab fishery been going for 15 years now and will do for the next, staff, are like family to me, love um to bits, just had only yesterday in a sleet snow a brace of common, 19.8 and 17.12, never fails.

What an amazing place to fish with the warmest of welcomes to the lake by Bev and the rest of the family. I highly recommend for anyone to come here for a good session as it holds some lovely fish suitable for all anglers and all ages

Participated in the yearly carping4ely match last weekend, may18-20th the fishing was great considering the angling pressure! Some lovely fish caught! Including a good few 20s They have everything you need, great place, lovely people, Thankyou ����

Lovely lake. Having started carp fishing on this lake and watching it grow and mature. I can honestly say the bartletts have done well. And the stamp of fish is incredible.

I fished here regularly a few years back and it was my favourite venue, had mixed results with blanks and fish aplenty. Just returned after several years without fishing and had a nice welcome. And was suprised at how much it had changed for the better. Got peg 12 for a 24hour session in very cold conditions but still managed to winkle one out and the fish are still in great condition. The huts are great although could do with a bit of tlc. Great to see that the Barletts still own and run the business and still as welcoming and helpful as they ever were. I'll be back soon.

Held our yearly charity match carping 4 ely on the main lake this weekend and we landed 24fish including 3 x 20lb+ fish up to 24lb 8oz, 14 x 15lb+ fish, 4 x 12lb+ fish and 3 smaller ones.

A wicked and well run fishery with very friendly and knowledgable staff who couldn’t have been more accommodating if they had tried, all fish landed were in immaculate condition.

Can’t wait to go back next year. A++++

Had a lovely weekend at acorn second visit managed to bag a 20 cracking water well looked after will 100percent be paying alot of attention to it this year fish are in mint condition well happy with this place would recommend to anyone

Had a great first time at acorn yestaday ... great run fishery ....welcoming people .....plenty of large carp about but unfortunatly they were to busy spawning to get a bite.... we will be back very soon and cant wait.tight lines...

Had a 48hour session here for Bankside Tournaments comp. Nice cabins, friendly owners & loved the little visitors �� can't wait to go back!!

Nice little pub for food 2 mins away and take-always delivered right to your peg. Amazing tackle shop on site & clean toilet facilities. So easy to get too with some absolutely amazing and huge fish to be caught � 5* from me! Xx

Great place to go on Thursday the 31st may I took my little girl for her first night session we did 48 hours on peg 5 and had 10 carp biggest being 22.4 will deffo be going back thanks acorn lake

First time a acorn fishery and will highly recommend it to anyone vary friendly and welcoming all fish we had out were top notch just can't wait to go again

Awsome place fishing excellent they make you feel so welcome the huts are a bonus and the quality of the fish well look at the photos they speak for themselves plus mark and tom come and show you where the fish are hiding out and give you some good advise awsome venue

Awesome fishery run by great people. Drive to your peg, every swim has an island chuck, lots of doubles and 20's with the odd 30Lber. What more could you want from a day ticket venue.

Having fished it a number of times over the past 15 years, I can safely say I Highly recommend the venue.

Acorn is a fantastic fishery end of story. I have only ever fished the specimen carp lake and I have caught some very nice, clean well looked after fish up to 23lb but they do go above 30lb. It is a very convenient place to fish, clean and tidy with easy parking and easy use of the toilets. The owners are very accommodating and friendly and when Mark or Tom are on site they are always happy to give tips and advice which I have found extremely helpful. What can I say 10/10 and well worth a visit.

Our first time on acorn an and blanked not a sniff of a fish � but can't catch all the time, will say the lake was lovely and clean an had a few tips on how to fish to no avail, the cabin well all I can say if u like spiders hut 10 is for u �� not beaten yet though and will book up again ��

Lovly place and very nice owners... they even had time to stop and talk to you for general chat, and Mark did not mind at all giving advice... My only small issue was the toilets could of been cleaner and cabins needed maintenance... As a specimen Carp lake there were also alot of small carp (under10lb), as I said only a small issue...

Went to this fishery.

We stayed Sunday to Tuesday. There were 6 of us. In the cabins. Lovely setting. A bit noisy because of the motorway.

I will have to say. Poor fishing. We all blanked. The guy who had it 24 hours before me. Also blanked. It really looks a fab place.

Really nice and clean well set out. But not many fish. I have seen the pictures. And thats ok but we had none.

I have to be fair. I have been out in various settings recently and also not had much out.

My son and i fished plantations and also blanked. As did everyone around the lake that day.

Is it the time of year. God knows. Its been hard in all venues this year so far. Does anyone have any feedback.

3 guys, 36 hours and a big fat blank. Only 2 fish out to the whole lake in that time. Don’t be fooled when people say it’s prolific. However, a big positive was the curry we had delivered. Guys and girls, I can thoroughly recommend Moguls in nearby Clevedon. Call them on ‭01275 878287‬. Fantastic food and reasonably priced.
