Went for a date night last (first time in a while!) after having our first date at the Britton ten years ago! We weren’t disappointed at all! Table booked for 7.30pm seated bang on time, in the same place we sat ten years ago! Food absolutely fantastic, after three courses we were both literally in a food coma!!!! Staff were fantastic and polite and kept us laughing and joking brilliant night and hopefully our next visit won’t be so long in between

User

We had a 4 night stay last week. Boy...What a fabulous time we had. The hospitality, the food, the beer, our room and most of all the welcoming atmosphere. Got thoroughly chilled out. A great big THANK YOU to the hosts Gerald and Janine and also to Craig Whitney the head bar honcho. We enjoyed our stay so much we are already planning our next visit for September 2018. We highly recommend this establishment. Well done and thank you again. :-D

User

Was just driving past today and the lovely floral display caught our attention, so we called in for a swift half. Nice bar and restaurant area with a few locals in the bar with a warm welcome. Cracking pint with a huge number of real ales, ciders available. Ordered food and sat out in the lovely beer garden. Food was lovely, fresh, and served quickly staff were really nice too. Had a quick chat with the landlord who is a real character. Had a cracking few hours out. Already making plans to come back with the tent for some camping. Tidy

User

The best pub in the Swansea Valley and Powys throughly enjoyed drinking the Real Ales they had there last night Snowdonia and Marstons Pedigree.

User

User

Just spent 3 nights in the Ancient Briton for a small reunion with old Friends.

The staff were excellent, the food was very good, and the room was very reasonably priced.

The Landlord is hilarious and made us feel very welcome.

I would definitely stay again when next in the area.

User

Just had a spot of lunch here! Food was absolutely gorgeous! It’s the nicest lasagna I think I’ve ever had!! Staff were really lovely, and the fact that our dogs were also very welcome was fantastic! Highly recommend this place! Can’t wait to go back!

User

Gorgeous food and HUGE portions!

Don’t eat all day before you go! Lol!

User

Excellent food and good atmosphere. Lovely place to eat, drink and be merry, especially if you have a camper.. room for those too

User

Delicious Sunday dinner. The beef was beautiful, thinly cut with generous slices. Vegetables were lovely. All the starters were superb as well as the desserts! The only negative would be the gravy. It tasted delicious and homemade but would have rathered it on the side to pour over.

Aside from this the dinner was excellent.

User

A couple days spent in the Brecons. Walked Pen y fan and then to our hotel at Craig a nos. We passed the pub on the way to hotel and thought it looked a great little pub. Went down that night and we had a great time. Loads of real ales which pleased my hubby and the staff were very helpful with choice of beers. Booked a table and enjoyed a couple more beers. So good we went there a second night and did it all over again. Excellent Choice of beers and great food. A great find. Definitely be visiting again. Thanks Dawn and Pete

User

It was Sunday so we thought we would all have roast beef lunches. It was roast topside of beef but tasted like it had been braised for sometime making it very tender and like pulled beef when you cut into it. For one in our party it was perfect but the rest of us would have preferred a thinly sliced pink roasted topside. We regularly visit this pub because it is consistently good and we all had a good time.

User

Cheerful atmosphere of bike enthusiasts, beer enthusiasts, cavers and local family parties. Food unpretentious but well made - excellent chips and the full (Welsh?) breakfast very good indeed - and plentiful enough that we are only getting round to eating nearly 11 hours later! One star knocked off for poor lighting in the bathroom and slightly squeaky bed, but we will certainly be back.

User

Went there yesterday .. my son fancied a steak which cost £16 .. half of it was fat .. my other son and brother had lasagne and it was freezing cold .. obviously frozen and not fresh .. considering the meal came to £60 not happy in the slightest .. wouldn't go back there .. I never complain but this time I had to !!!
