Hey guys just a quick post about fregula. Fregula or fregola is a type of Sardinian pasta that has been toasted. These toasted pasta pearls are similar to what some people may know as giant Israeli couscous! Here at Anise we currently use it alongside our sea bream & Sardinian shellfish broth. So now that you know you’ll have to give it a try!!

Went for a meal with four friends .....all of us delighted with the menu. Food lived up to expectations. One slight problem....there were 3 choices I wanted from mains and 2 from desserts and I was too full from my first choices to continue!!....So ....I need to go again soon, before more things go on the menu that I want to try!!

WOW. AMAZING. BEAUTIFUL... This place is beautiful. The food is stunning and the Waiter and Chef are very friendly. Everything cooked to perfection and very good prices. The desserts.. mouth watering and out of this world. Deserves 10 STARS.. ���

This restaurant is unlike anything else Taunton has to offer. The setting is intimate and the service personal. The food surpasses every expectation. Each course was freshly made and delicious with an amazing and creative combination of flavours. I was genuinely surprised to have such an amazing meal. What a discovery! We hope to be regulars. This is a must. Really nice to have another proper restaurant in Taunton. Fantastic food at good value for the money. We have tried both the Sunday lunch and a Evening meal.

The service by Kamil (sorry my lovely if I spelled your name incorrectly) was awesome, great guy, knowledgeable about the food and good at making cocktails, and the food created by a mysterious magician in the kitchen , absolutely fantastic, the flavours!! Awesome, seriously, loved it x

That was amazing. I have just taken my partner out for one of the most fantastic meals i have ever had. Pick up the phone and book it, you will not be disappointed.

Our first visit to this restaurant really friendly front of house staff. Amazing food very talented chef. Well worth a visit we will certainly be back.

My wife Jill and I have just enjoyed a truly splendid evening meal at the recently opened 'Anise Restaurant Taunton' and I can honestly say that each course was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The complimentary 'cauliflower soup appetizer and Parmesan biscuit' was a real delight and an unexpected treat. For my starter, I had the 'Salt Cod Salad which was generous in terms of proportion and for its clean fresh flavours, without being too filling. This was followed by the most tender, succulent and flavoursome 'Short rib of Beef' I think I have ever had. My three courser was rounded of by the most amazing Cannoli Marscapone and Chocolate desert which I fully intend to have again when we next dine here. Jill as often is the case, declined to have a starter and went straight for the Red Mullet special which she variously described as 'incredible' and 'just perfect.' Her desert, consisted of the delicate Panna Cotta which she also raved about all the way home, in the car. Service was great, attentive without being intrusive and we are already thinking about booking our next table. It is such a pity the Anise Restaurant is not just around the corner from us but we are not going to let the 20 minute journey from home put us off. This place is what Taunton has been crying out for and where good food just got great. Good luck and see you again very soon.....

I’ve been a few times now. This time with a group of friends to try the taster menu: when the main topic around the table is the food you’re eating, you know it’s good, I mean exceptionally good. If you like really good food, you’ve got to go... Thanks once again to the chef for an incredible meal �

I had a meal at this restaurant this evening with two friends ,we all agreed that the food was amazing ,I can also say that it was the best meal that I have had in years ,totally delicious & great value for money also fantastic service from the waiter Kamil .

Had dinner tonight with friends, super friendly service and great atmosphere. The menu all looked great, food was really fresh and delicious. Will definitely return

Came down to visit a friend and ate here for Sunday lunch. The 3 course meal was faultless with some excellent flavours. Very good prices . All the staff are also very friendly. �

Being fans of Mediterranean food, we thought we'd give this newly opened restaurant a go.

Well, what can be said other than fantastic!!

An absolute delight from start to finish.

A friendly welcome followed by delicious food.

A small complementary dish of cauliflower soup was offered before our meal. That was just a taste of things to come.

Starters of baked aubergine/black pudding & quails eggs were delightful, as were the mains.. beef short ribs and pork belly/cheek. All beautifully presented.

However.. nothing could have prepared us for the pudding. We both had the blood orange tart, probably the nicest thing I have ever eaten!!

Not to mention the Lemoncillo on the house which was lovely too.

Taunton has been crying out for something like this.. not the cheapest meal we've ever had but probably one of the best.

Very recommended!

Beautifully presented,tasty and fresh food. A fantastic lunch time menu at a very reasonable price. I will be back!
