The Arran Banner is simply the best. Factually the respected ABC - Audit Bureau of Circulation awarded the Banner a top accolade of increasing the circulation of the island's dedicated newspaper in a world where newsprint media regularly see -10% annual readership falls. Not so the Banner: it goes from strength to stronger. But more than that, the Arran Banner is the best because it keeps islanders at home and ex-pat abroad up to date with genuine local news. As a lifelong reader, whenever it is Arran Banner day, a pulse of enjoyment beats this way. No matter where in the world, or at home, it is an unfailing treat to make a cup of tea and settle down with the latest Arran Banner. A big thank you to the team who have kept this brilliant island treasue going for so many decades.
Love The Arran Banner as keeps me in touch with a very special place.
Love Arran I have family there and it is also one of the vest highland game shows I do ever year
Lamlash, isle of Holy, Brodick.
Love the people, scene, fresh air, peace and seafood
I was introduced to Arran by my Aunt and uncle as a 2 yr old and have been every year now for 33years even if it's just for a day, I need to be there. They holiday on Arran for months at a time every year and always stay in Lamlash for about 50 years. Think they started off in Old Tom's Cabin towards the chippy and post office.etc.. They are Margaret and David Atkins from Glasgow for anyone who knows them. I love how friendly it is, the walks àlong the beach and up the hills, and always have to get a wee game of putting while I'm there. I love the Drift Inn and the Copper Pot in Whiting Bay. Can't wait till this year to come back again. Thanks Iain
I had the pleasure of working on the island from nov 11 to nov 12 supporting a lovely old guy up the ross road. Unfortunately i took ill myself and had to get out but i miss the place bigtime, to ally and jimmy at jimmy gordons, willie at lamlash garage, maurice at seal shore kildonan, the folk in the co op, all the calmac guys, finally shelli and raymond a massive thanks to all of you for the friendship, welcome and respect. I hope to come back as a tourist as i feel i have to say goodbye properly.
Awesome place. Been going since I was a wee boy, and still love it.

I was born in the war memorial hospital and still come to arran to see family
Have been coming to Arran for 60years. My first recollection is of an Aunt used to take a house in Hamilton Terrace Lamlash for a month and the whole family would be invited over to spend a few days I remember coming over with school party to Whiting Bay Youth Hostel and climbing Goat Fell in 1962. Since the we have been coming as a family hiring cottages in Whiting Bay, Lamlash and Lochranza. Also stayed in Hotels in Blackwaterfoot and last year Auchrannie. We also come golfing to Brodick every year. I love to get a copy of the Arran Banner every time we are coming over and it's the first paper I get when visiting Cross house Hospital.
