At around 3pm this afternoon the Borth #RNLI lifeboat was out on an exercise when HM Coastguard asked them to divert to help a man and his dog in difficulty in the sea at Ynyslas. The HM Coastguard Borth rescue team were also tasked.
By the time the lifeboat arrived on scene the man had managed to get himself and his dog back to the beach where he was met by the Borth Coadtguard team. Thus the lifeboat was stood down and returned to station.
The man was very wet and cold, so the Coastguard team advised him to go to hospital to be checked out.
