Brilliant place to have breakfast and watch the world go by in the most beautiful seaside town in the UK. I tune in to their webcam every morning to get a fix of the place and it makes my day. Sadly down at the moment. Any news of it going back up?

CMs has been closed in the mornings this week but on Thursday when we wanted to go there for breakfast we were pleased to find it open.

We were the only people in there which meant we could have the personal attention of the waitress which was nice.

The three of us had English breakfasts of varying sizes. The bacon was lean with very little fat and well cooked. Something that pleased me in particular was that the sausages were not undercooked.

Everything was as we have experienced over several decades of visiting Salcombe and set us up nicely for the journey on to our next destination.

User

Tasty but we had to queue for 50 mins to order and then another 40 for our breakfast sandwiches to arrive

User

Ok I suppose but Tables weren't cleared off and we tried moving the food someone had left , seagulls very interested and still no one came shame as the bacon and Brie samdwicheswe had were lovely , a clean of the sticky tables occasionally may help

User

I feel really sad to do this because I never leave negative feed back but today I felt disappointed.

Completely understanding today was a BH we knew it would be busy, but we found a table ques up to make a order, in the que for over 10 mins was told would be a half hr wait, not a problem! The weather is beautiful we were not in a huge rush. Now I am 8.5 months pregnant and although I was happy to wait after around 40 mins our name was called to collect order but only to have 1 breakfast ready!! We order 3, 1 meat breakfast 1 veggie and salmon and egg on toast.

The meat breakfast was ready then my husband waited a further 10 mins for the other 2 orders!

I had the veggie breakfast all I can say was it was a great breakfast if you like beans!!! Becouse there was a plate of beans 1 piece of toast a hash brown and half a tomato for £7.50!!! If it was not for the fact we had waited so long and paid and the que was huge I would of complained there and then.

None of of meals finished as it was not the best breakfast and we enjoyed the rest of our visit to Salcombe.

I gave 2 stars 1 for location and being open! 1 for the view while waiting!

User

Captain morgans breakfast £9.50!

Sausages pre cooked then reheated so couldn't cut through them when did get into it the meat inside was shrivelled up and hard black pudding was tasteless bacon was more fat and rind. The best bit of the breakfast was the coffee but that was £2.50 extra! Last time I try and help our local community during the winter periods.

Rather drive to Kingsbridge and have a proper breakfast for half the price!
