I speak with GP's in our area regularly who would love a Physio to be in their waiting rooms to manage their back pain patients.
So why is it difficult for your GP to manage back pain? Time is a huge factor as is specialism.
GP's are so busy that umfortunately they aren't given the necessary time it takes to understand the history of someone with back issues.
... Solving back pain is ALWAYS a learning process - this takes time. As physios we are constantly educating and promoting positive activities and working towards established patient led Goals. To do this takes time!
Most people with ongoing back pain have a lot of fear avoidance where the person simply doesn't do a certain "normal" activity anymore as they fear it may hurt or damage their Back. To discuss these avoidance factors and help proactively change the person's approach to how they look after their back takes ..... you guessed it.. Time!
In addition to all this wonderful stuff we also spend time helping to loosen tight muscles, stiff joints, re-learn normal movements and release restricted or irritated nerves.
Our physios constantly update training and take courses from the leading experts in the management of back pain.
Our GP's unfortunately have their hands tied by restricted appointment times but also GP's don't tend to specialise in managing back pain. Generic advice is often given to patients which is mostly helpful but not the gold standard compared to a specific approach tailored to an individual.
We love our GP's and all they do, so instead of picking up the phone and waiting for a GP appointment about your back, choose Physio instead for a pro-active and effective way of managing back pain. #FreeTheGP!

We LOVE the The International North West 200! Feel lucky to have worked with some of the worlds best racers both at Causeway Physio, Michael Rutter, Lee Johnston and also treating William Dunlop and Connor Cummins at the Team Motorhomes @ NW200 Blackbridge! These guys are hard as nails and true proof of how pain is something that can be worked through and never letting it hold you back. Great to be a part of it and here's to a great weekend of racing!!

Suffering severe back pain,I saw the Facebook page offering a free sample place with Causeway Physio.Colin explain how I could benefit. After 5 sessions and following an excercise programme I am feeling good.I can highly recommend Causeway Physio. All the staff were helpful and friendly.

User

I was diagnosed with a particular knee problem in my teens and was unable to do most sorts of exercise for twenty years, the rehab my GP recommended just made it worse.

It took Colin to work out that it was another issue entirely, and one that could be treated.

With his help I am now able to run without knee supports and without pain, two marathons under my belt and the next in June.

User

I recently attended Causeway Physio and had 3 sessions with Catherine. When I first arrived at the studio I had back ache in a certain area that I was troubled with and managed for 2 years, and also hamstring trouble after I played football sometimes. After the sessions, I feel healed and free of the niggling pains that burdened me, which I am grateful for and now I can concentrate on my football and enjoy more freedom and mobility on the pitch. I would highly recommend Causeway Physio to anyone.

User

I have been to other physios before but none as thorough as Colin. His service was superb-very helpful and 100% dedicated to helping find&diagnose the injury.A very professional service, second to none.

User

Great only needed 2 sessions .had awful postpartum back pain but none at all now.

User

Fantasic for anyone with aches and pains

User

Excellent advice and demonstrstion given. I had knee issues that were identified by Colin in under 2 minutes as well as lower back issues which were linked and have started to make a good recovery thanks to the clinic. It's worth every penny! Its important to also note how friendly the staff are which would put anyone's mind at ease no matter the problem they are coming in for!

User

Couldn't walk up the stairs in April with leg pain... up to speed to start triathlons within a few months! Such a varied approach but felt supported all the way

User

Couldn't recommend Colin highly enough. Great insight and a fountain of knowledge.

After the first treatment/ diagnoses. I felt a big improvement. Having just had my second treatment I feel so much better. I've been given excellent advice and a treatment program to help with my recovery and maintain my health…I can't recommend Causeway Physio enough. Great service…

User

After suffering from neck and shoulder pain I was so pleased I managed to get an appointment with Colin this week. After one session I noticed amazing results, especially concidering I had had 5 sessions of physio in France and had seen no improvement. Definitely reccommend a visit! Many thanks!

User

After suffering for some time with back, shoulder and neck pain, my husband recommended I try Causeway Physio. I just want to say how pleased I am with how the treatment went. Colin used a range of techniques, including acupuncture and the Sarah Key technique (which I was a bit apprehensive about at first, but it was fantastic!), and the difference is remarkable. The treatment was really well priced, the clinic is convenient and Colin is not only extremely knowledgeable, but also really friendly and takes the time to get to know his clients. Thanks again!
