Firstly, we would like to say that if you are reading this, it is not because we have employed Cambridge Analytics. We are going to begin opening late on Fridays from Good Friday until the end of September, Kitchen open until 7:30, come and join us for Fish and Chips or anything else you fancy. Hopefully we will have a few decent Sunsets to enjoy a beer or glass of wine with.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who has come out over the last few days and especially the busy Sunday we had. We really appreciate the support, especially after the bad weather.

User

Thank you to our team, we are open today if you fancy a sea view with your coffee or breakfast.

User

Morning everyone. Well we know all the schools are closed today and its still snowing. We also know that many of you are hardy people and that you may be looking for good coffee and a hot breakfast. Sorry to disappoint you but we are going to be shut today so you are not tempted to climb that hill. Please take care of yourselves and thank you for the caring replies yesterday.

We would just like everyone to know that we have had to close today (1st March) as the Eastbury Hill road became unsafe. The safety of our team and visitors is the most important consideration to us. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Hosted an 80th Birthday party for one of our regulars and 4 generations of his wonderful family last night.

The Driftwood Cafe is a great place to visit. It is situated on the sea front at Blue Anchor, just along from the West Somerset Steam Railway station.

We have been going to Blue Anchor Bay for many years and always pop in to the Driftwood.

They offer a wide choice of good home cooked food. From an all day full cooked breakfast, daily specials; soup, fresh fish, other cooked meals, to salads, sandwiches, cakes and snacks.

The meals are good value and well priced.

They also serve the best choice of ice creams around!

They also have a small range of tasteful articles for sale (not your average seaside tat!)

It's worth looking at the old photos on the walls, they are really interesting to see the changes to the landscape over the years.

You can sit inside, on the veranda or in the garden. It's all very well kept and clean.

It's a very popular place!

Relaxed dining alfresco or in the beach chalet, free parking, excellent fish and chips - great cakes, lovely staff, I find you always end up in conversation with another local - even in the height of the season - a sure sign that the food is good.

User

Perfect for a cup of tea and a warm welcome

User

Nice view friendly staff and excellent food

Me and my family took a trip on the steam train and stopped off here for drinks and cake, the woman that served us with different coloured hair was lovely and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. There was some cake left over to which she wrapped up for us to take home. Nice place, would visit again!

User

Lovely setting, friendly service. Only had drinks so can’t comment on food. Drinks were spot on.

User

Had THE most amazing fish and chips here on Wednesday this week. I commented that it was more like a whale and chips as it was soooo huge. Beautifully cooked, not a bit of grease anywhere, would certainly recommend. xx

User

Great place to eat and drink after a walk on the beach with the dog. Cakes are delicious.

User

Great place - I sat with my two girls 4 and 7 watching the world go buy eating top notch crispy not greasy fish and chips. The owner was like a busy bee welcoming everyone and bending over backwards to get everyone out of the cold and too a table as soon as possible. This was hard work due to the place being full at 12:30 (a real achievement for a beach side cafe in November). To top off the great food, great service and great attitude, they had kids cutlery!!! A must visit.

User

Great cafe. Superb food and lovely sea view. Definitely recommend this for anyone visiting. Blue Anchor Bay with dogs!

User

Got to say I had an excellent meal the fish was beautiful, I asked if I could have it with chips and mushy peas and that’s what I got. Just a nice potion and I really enjoyed it. My two friends who where with me where astounded as they said it was a first that I had ever eaten all my meal. The fish I think was Sea Bass it was the choice on the board. I have only every been for breakfast which cannot be faulted. I am hard to please and my friends where delighted that I was so pleased with my lunch. I shall be returning. Compliments to the chef who one of my friends knew.

User

Fabulous sea food salad, welcomes dogs too, service is efficient and friendly, great views over the bay, just round the corner from the train station so a good place to stop and jump off for breakfast or lunch

User

Best place ever lovely staff especially poppy always smiling

User

Awesome place, great food, fantastic views...shame I cannot access the beach anymore as they have blocked off the little walk that was perfect for disabled people.

We will still come in for coffee & cake...on our way back from dunster beach

User

Always love it here. Lovely cooked breakfasts and the location is perfect!

A lovely cafe, that benefits from the continuity of I believe 80 years of trading to holidaymakers and locals alike that seems to have seeped into the fabric of the building creating a unique experience of modern day expectations but old fashioned atmosphere and service by proud staff. The wonderful Railway and station by it is the way to arrive at this little gem of a cafe to complete a grand experience.
