Winter Gardening Weekend 2019
15th, 16th, 17th Feb at the Tysul Hall, Llandysul, Carmarthenshire. SA44 4QJ
... Tel. 01559 363389/362403
The years seem to fly by so quickly that it doesn’t seem like five minutes since the last one. It is always a challenge to try to create something on the stage that is different and hopefully better than previous years and with this in mind we have already begun the planning. It seems hard this time, but the props are getting there and the backdrop has arrived!
The Tysul Hall (SA44 4QJ), located in Llandysul just a couple of miles down the road from the nursery, is a good setting for the event. It is warm and spacious allowing us to put a vast array of plants out to tempt you with. These will include Hellebores, cottage garden plants, shrubs, alpines, herbs and fruit. We have a range of prices to suit all pockets including a large budget range of shrubs, perennials, herbs, alpines and Hellebores. These start from £1.99 each. The Hellebores are looking lovely this year.
As always we have a fantastic array of speakers to cover subjects wide and varied. This year we are thrilled to have several new speakers as well as popular ones that have helped us out many times.
There will also be a selection of other stalls to tempt you and a well stocked cafe selling teas coffee, cakes and light snacks.
Over the years this event which takes place at a time when people are starting to think of the new spring season has brought visitors to Llandysul from many different parts of the country and has certainly put the area on the map. The event has been supported by the community office of Llandysul and Pont Tyweli Ymlaen and with financial support from the Llandysul Community Council the event has gone from strength to strength, without their support it would be difficult to continue with such an interesting event.
Finally, massive thanks to everyone else who comes along and helps including all our friends who work at the nursery and John our website man who is a bit of a star, (for great website follow this link cloud-genius.com)

This is a local community project that has helped many many young people in the past. Not only do they help local kids they also work with schools and those that are less fortunate than most. The damage is significant and would really benefit from any help you could give. Please donate... Thank you so much

There are certain groups of plants that we all love and Astrantias have to be one of these. Easy to grow in sun or semi shade and flowering almost continuously throughout the summer they tick all the boxes. These are a few seedlings that I fell in love with when wandering around the nursery (as you do!) tonight. Large flowered and all subtly different they are a real joy.

User

they've arrived!!!!!

We visited this marvellous nursery for the first time today and were blown away by the range of plants. I had only intended to buy a chrysanthemum, but the perennials were so healthy looking and competitively priced that I ended up going on a bit of a spree. My mum was in her element buying hellebores and looking at the sempervivums growing in the greenhouse. I am sure we will be back there again very soon.

Very very disappointed that my email has been completely dismissed , my disabled mother gets her hanging basket from you each year , after last years basket I had told her not to bother again but Richard was very good and replaced , we thought it would be a one off, we were due to pick up this years basket on Sunday 10th June due to an accident my mother was unable so I asked if it could be delivered , we weren’t expecting free delivery but no couldn’t be done so we agreed to pick up from carmarthen which is over half the journey. When we picked up the basket it was all shot, mentioned to the gentlemen he said “yea” and when mentioned how there was no main colour that she had asked for was told well we ran out of bedding plants so had to use what we could, hmmm ok ... one week later the hanging basket is almost dead, I have watered daily but you only had to look at it to know it was on way out, I did send in pictures... maybe it’s because we only buy 1 basket per year? Money is money...my mother says Richard is a very nice man maybe he could pass his customer service skills onto some of the staff who take calls!! And maybe an acknowledgment to an email would have been good too!

Happy to change a negative to a positive as once again Richard went out of his way to sort out the problem .... Thankyou 28.06.18

Ordered a sempervivum selection online and was very very impressed with the size and quality of them. Well packed and delivered safely and quickly to me in West Yorkshire - will no doubt be purchasing again. Thumbs up from me :-)

User

Just visited the garden show in Llandysul - absolutely brilliant with some great offers and a stunningly fabulous garden display set up on the stage. Bought a load of plants, then on to the nursery for 'just a quick look'!! Great nursery, superb stock of plants, a very helpful Jackie and young lad on hand to help. Will certainly be returning as our 'work in progress' garden progresses.

A hidden treasure! On holiday in Wales and travelled 90minutes to find this gem of a nursery. Despite it being a miserable Saturday afternoon, I managed to spend 2 hours roaming the aisles and tunnels of this fabulous nursery. My hosta addiction was also well fed! Thanks so much to the friendly staff members who made the visit all the more enjoyable.

User

Ordered on the 8th September, delivered today 13th September ( one day late on promised date but a day early on the revised date given). Parcel was not left in the designated position given to the carrier.

However plants look in superb condition and were expertly packed.

Thanks to Richard for the smiley face on the delivery note !

Fingers crossed for excellent results after planting.

All the best, Barry
