Went for the 1st time yesterday for sunday carvery was absolutely delicious. Booked again for next week. Chef even come out to check all was ok. Dont get that many places

User

We have just had the best Sunday lunch here , £10 for 2 courses , would highly recommend it , the potatoes were amazing the gravy had so much flavour and the meet and veg was beautiful was definitely the best I have had as have tried many other pub restaurants in Yeovil and I'm very fussy with my roast dinners . The deserts were delicious too.

Can't wait to sample other dishes of there menu.

Very friendly staff and chefs . 10/10.

Had the £9.99 for two courses deal. We had the roast which although not the traditional carvery type (it was in a large shallow bowl) was excellent in presentation and very tasty! The pudding choice was not huge but they were home made and very good quality (I sampled both!) The staff were brilliant, even getting a visit from the chef to see if we enjoyed our meal. The beer was reasonably priced and the old building with its furnishings and chandeliers priceless! We will definitely do it again! 😀

Food here is fabulous Dillon has really turned this place around. More restaurant than pub now. Decor needs a little attention in places but thats to be expected for the age of the place x

User

Amazing all round! The head chef is soooo friendly and lovely. Food super delicious and fresh. Brilliant bargain on a Sunday: 2 course meal under a tenner!! Will definitely go back!

User

Always a nice cold pint. Usually a thatchers gold. But the barman asked me to try a carling cider. Bloody lovely. And only 2-50 a pint. Happy days. Cheers

A* Food is amazing, best food I've had in ages....like dining at a premium restaurant for a fraction of the price...... Team here are so friendly too. I would definitely recommend anyone coming here, you won't be disapointed!

User

A more welcoming pub I have yet to find. Was in Yeovil for the football over the bank holiday weekend. Didn't stay here but the food and the welcome from both the staff and locals was second to none. Thank you

User

You can't beat the carvary, tender meat, crunchy potatoes & a nice thick gravy, perfect 👌🏿 and excellent value for money

User

Very welcoming staff, evening meal was lovely, beautifully cooked steak. Room was clean and basic, bit hot but was in the roof. Excellent value for money

User

Not a bad pub, but drinks way overpriced. Need to bring drinks prices down a bit to make it a pub I'd use more often.

User

The check in was ok. Girl was helpful. We stayed in room 34 but the hallway light didn’t work so it was a pain getting in and out. Bed was nice , shower horrible so opted out ! We used to get breakfast included , but the kitchen was deserted at 9 am. It’s ok if you want to doss for one night, any longer than that then no . We always stay here when we visit the relatives at Xmas , but now looking for somewhere else !

User

Expensive drinks, christmas meal haha, starter ok though not very tasty, main meal disgusting, beef wellington tough as old boots couldnt eat half of it, roast potatoes burnt, new ones sent out still hard..never got the new potatoes there was supposed to be as well, haha burnt carrots & green beans which i dont even like, Im sure they were not on the menu i looked at before the night & where were our seasonal vegetables? dessert was the best thing about it..waiter was polite & did his best but the waitress's didnt seem to want to listen to any complaints, chef is the owner & was supposed to be coming out to talk to us haha he sent his minion who apologised for the potatoes but why send them out in the first place!! Seating was crap they were just trying to fit in as many as they could, not a place i shall be visiting again in a hurry!

User

Went for a works xmas meal the starter was duck pate which I hate wasn't offered an alternative to this when I said I couldn't eat it then the main came out (cold) sent back then had the replacement sent out still not hot, turkey was like rubber with no taste, veg was tasteless, in the end had two pigs in blankets and a Yorkshire pudding. Dessert well that had no taste for a cheese cake no biscuit on the bottom! Small bit of fruit on the top. Meal was no wear near the standard of the price! Wouldn't recommend get a better microwave roast dinner meal from tesco

Very disappointed in this hotel. Arrived on Saturay having booked 2 double rooms and 1 single room. I had traveled from Northern Ireland with my 2 daughters.my sister and a friend. On collectin our keys we were informed that my friends room was not in the same building as the rest of the party . The rooms were not as the photos portrayed and the furniture was thick with dust.Dirty socks on window sill and mould in the shower. Totally disgusted. Luckily we were able to get a refund but no apology. Thank goodness we were lucky to get an alternative hotel as we were over to celebrate my brothers 50th birthday. I unfortunately would not recommend this holiday to anyone. As we travel to Yeovil frequently we will be sure to book alternative accommodation. Frustrated .

On arrival we were a little early and had to wait for our room to be ready which was fine. The bar man who was lovely was doing 3 jobs, serving, bar work and over seeing the kitchen. He was the only nice thing about our stay.He offered us a hot dink while we waited and we ordered some food from the bar menu.

mine came and was burnt..my friend sent hers back, also burnt.

When we were finally shown to our room, we were dissapointed.

The window frames were all cracked, the shower curtain was mouldy around the bottom, there were just 2 teabags, there were hairs on the tiles and sills in the bathroom and the toilet didnt flush. Also the time to be out by was 10am, the housekeeping staff, a young girl with no uniform knocked on our room at 9,15 to clean our room.

When we returned the key no staff asked us if we had enjoyed our stay or offered us breakfast. All in all not a good stay at all.

User

Husband ordered burger, burger was rock hard, I ordered gammon to say it was over cooked was an understatement I have never experienced food like this, we will never eat there again, the girl who was the barmaid, waitress and looking after the rooms told us as she gave us the key that we had the best room, it was room number one, well it would not lock we were told it would be fixed, never happened the 4 poster bed was like laying on concrete, only one chair to sit on, the carpet was filthy dirty. So we decided to watch the show we went to Yeovil for and travel back home, would never recommend this place
