visited yesterday for a friends birthday after a walk at 3 cliffs.very accomodating to the 3 dogs with us,gave them treats.staff were great without being over bearing, food was lovely and they gave my friend a free fudge cake for her birthday which was a lovely gesture!will definately come back!

Visited 12/09/17, 4 of us attended, heard it was refurbished and menu has changed so thought we would try the food. Decor was lovely, welcoming & cosy (little bit dark in some corners of the seating), good value for money. Staff were all friendly. I had the hunters chicken breast (very tender & filling) & calamari starter (was lovely & tasty, didnt need the leaves), other half had long bone beef rib (quite a big portion, very tender & tasty), mum had lamb shank (could have done with more veg & sauce, mash wasn't too soft & creamy though but lamb was lovely), dad had ultimate burger (big filling portion, tasty & tender). Menu is more up market & some old classics will be missed.

Very pleasant staff, excellent food. Good parking and best loo's I have used in a pub for years

User

Stopped here on an impulse for an early Sunday meal and all three of us enjoyed a wonderful roast dinner. Thank you all the friendly staff that made part of our day down Gower so good. This was our first visit, after passing many times, but it won't be the last. Cheers all!

Omg I've found a gem on the Gower peninsula.

Stunning pub with a very warm welcome. The menu had plenty to choose from. We the cod and mixed grill. Everything was delicious and hot and cooked to our preference.

The staff we're very friendly. This is a very large pub with a huge car park. You can see it's maintained to a high standard.

Overall a fantastic pub with a very well priced menu.

We will definitely be returning.

User

User

Called in with the family (3 tired children) after a day out. Lovely service, hardly any wait for the food. Great family pub.

User

After a bracing stroll in Rhossili, we popped in for some lunch yesterday. A very warm welcome was followed by a much needed glass of rose’ & a pint of Gower Gold ( which went down very smoothly)! We both chose the beer battered cod & chips.... delicious! Charming staff, smart decor.... will be returning soon.

User

We popped into the Gower in the day for a drink and thought it would be a nice place to return on the evening for a meal..the menu looked great... we ordered our drinks and meals and sat down...we waited...and waited...and waited.. for almost an hour... when it arrived the portions were small...the lamb was dry ..burnt..and very little of it...the veg was almost non existent and potato was dry and definitely not buttery...the gravy pot was tiny..and hardly covered the meal... my steak was actually quite nice..the chips were luke warm and not many of them...we didn't complain... but will not return...shame really because it's a nice pub and the staff are friendly

User

I’m so disappointed, we have been coming here for years but have been here twice in last 3 days. The food was terrible and service not good either. such a shame.

User

Basic food and quality not very good I wouldn't recommend it

As a family we have had meals many times in the Gower inn, unfortunately since the refurb it’s gone down hill, or the food has.

few weeks ago on steak night there were no £7 steaks, so had to upgrade to the dearer rib-eye which was stunning, asked for salad as don’t like pub chips, the salad was far to fussy with a beetroot topping, I like plain lettuce cucumber and tomatoes.

Went again with the children ordered rib-eye again as last one was lush, but without the salad! I am not convinced it was rib-eye looked more like a rump, service was so slow we left without children having their ice-cream.

This week we tried it again with children, hubby had lasagne and I had hunters chicken, hubby didn’t like his so we swapped, the lasagne was the worst dish of slop that I’ve ever tasted in my life, whatever herbs were in there overpowered the dish, I couldn’t eat it, hubby said chicken was like rubber, and were was the bbq sauce? They refunded the price of the lasagne without a quibble, it must happen often.

On the bright side the locals in the bar were fab, and we played along to the chaser and they kindly told us where and where not to eat on the Gower, Gower inn being one not to eat in !

User

To book your Food at 7.00 pm not eat until 8.30 pm is ridiculous No one bothered to explain why were waiting

User

Really disappointed with the service and cleanliness here this evening. Ordered food, waited 45 mins for starters and still had to ask 3 times where our starter was. In the end I asked for a refund of our meal. Shocking and appalling service!! Really disappointed!!

User

Never again. Cold food. Awful service. No sauces or napkins. Was kept ages when I went back up with my food to complain. Will not be back and certainly not be recommending to family and friends!!
