We were visited today by a group of librarians from Myanmar. The British Council group was led, and hosted, by Ayub Khan, Head of Face-to-Face Services at Warwickshire County Council. Our visitors were exploring best practice in UK Libraries and Arts, as part of cultural diplomacy!
In addition to talking about the history of Harbury Village Library and Biblio's Cafe and all of the activities and events that take place, we spoke about the possibility of twinning with a community library in Shan State in eastern Myanmar.

For the next meeting of our Classic Book Group on Tuesday March 17th we're reading "Th├®r├©se Desqueyroux", the masterpiece and most famous novel by Nobel Prize winner Fran├¦ois Mauriac. It's the story of a complex woman trapped by provincial life. First published in 1927 it has echoes of Madame Bovary.
For more information about this book and details of what we'll be reading in coming months please have a look at our web page. You can also sign up for an eMail which lets you know everything that the group is doing.
