Dreamy view of the River Arle this afternoon and a timely reminder from A A Milne "Rivers know this: there is no hurry. We shall get there some day." Timely because for this small business January is a time to slow down and enjoy the calm days.

User

Second Sunday in January and we are dreaming of hazy Summer days and dreamy nights under canvas. Have you started to think about your summer weekends away?!

Actually these are the last campers to leave site. We just couldn't turn them away .... a lovely couple from Brittany with their renovated camper; it has a fire engine engine. They had the site to themselves as we say goodbye for 2018. The End.

User

And the final camper of 2018 leaves us. A local school teacher on an electric mountain bike on a micro adventure before he heads to the Outer Hebrides. Wow what a season it has been! and that is us over and out.

User

I simply cannot believe if is the last weekend of the season. This summer has flown by. Thank you to all those who have come and stayed, this is your last chance until April 5th 2019. Who is joining us?

User

Loving this evening's light and seeing happy campers enjoying the very last of the summer season. The barn owl has also been seen this week eying up his field!

User

I think it is fair to say that it is #officiallyautumn🍂🍁

User

I had a little time away this weekend to get away, clear my head and start thinking season 2019. The weekend was spent under a magical cloud @thegoodlifeexperience. It is a wonderful place for offering experiences, brilliant and inspiring people and fabulous music. Is there anything you would like to see change/develop at Holden Farm Camping in 2019?!

User

Today we've taken the last of our sheep to Wilton Market before we head to the sales next weekend. It was a great start to the day, beautiful if a little chilly! Autumn light is simply wonderul if you get the chance to enjoy it Eeek we've only 3 weekends left of our season!

User

I find it really wonderful when we have repeat campers. This family are a wonderful addition to the site and I love having them to stay. Just look at this picture of them making the most of September sunsets and the space on site.

User

Shout out to all our followers - please share this widely and get Jenny home.

Wow!!!

We stayed at Holdens Farm for 2 nights and we loved it!!! From arrival the experience and service was spot on! Becca was great so welcoming!

Now all I say is if you are looking for a commercial site with all mod cons I would recommend you go somewhere else but if you want the experience of PROPER CAMPING this is the place to book!!

This is a working farm and just makes the whole experience amazing.

The camping field is massive (when I say massive I mean it) and you can choose where you go on it, don't be scared of being jammed in like sardines like other sites as you won't be!

Shower is a bonus and is perfect for a quick freshen up.

The facilities include toilet, fridge, kettle shower and washing up room. These are all communal and it's the best bit as you can meet other campers(let's just hope you don't meet in the toilet or shower though haha).

The site is in its first year and is brilliant. Becca has promised us the site will be a little different next year but will not be ruined and made commercial!!

This place should really be kept a secret as we want to keep it too ourselves but we must share this great campsite!!

Anyone found where the eggs are being laid yet.

Keep up the amazing work Holden Farm Team.

Its amazing!!

User

We live in Southampton and wanted a night away for a change of scene. I camped on a midweek night with my two daughters and we loved the site. Becca is a great host and all the site facilities were spotlessly clean. The toilets, showers and wash-up space with fridge freezer and large wall map are better facilities than many I have experienced.

We pitched our tent near a firepit and enjoyed toasting marshmallows in the evening after a walk down part of the South Downs Way and back.

We will definitely come back for another night, perhaps two!

User

We have just returned from our first 2 day camping trip as a family. I loved the experience and Holden Farm was a beautiful place to stay.

The calm, quiet environment is very relaxing and a great place to kick back and enjoy doing nothing.

The space surrounding the camp site is amazing and the kids( 8,6,3&2) loved being able to run around without fear of making too much noise.

There were a few families on the site at the same time and we never heard a peep.

The amenities are basic at the moment but that never posed a problem.

1 toilet and shower is fine for now but the new addition next year will be greatly welcomed. It is also great to have access to a fridge, kettle, plug socket and washing up facilities.

Rebecca was warm and welcoming on arrival and makes you feel very comfortable.

This definitely will not be our last trip here.

User

We had the most fantastic time at this campsite. The perfect balance of not too many people crammed in but enough to give it a nice atmosphere. Great facilities, lovely owners who are happy to give advice on places to go! Fire pits were fantastic and in a beautiful spot! Would recommend and are definitely coming back!!

User

Stayed at Holden Farm with friends last August. We had an absolutely awesome weekend (helped by the heatwave!) and have booked to go back again this year. It has everything you need and the fire pits are such a bonus for the evenings. We enjoyed staying up around the fire and looking at the stars. Although the site is only a few miles away from winchester city, you would have no idea when on site as you are in the middle of winchester's surrounding countryside. So peaceful. Thanks Becca (owner) for giving us a chance to enjoy such a lovely place.

User

Perfect camping site. Pitch where you like with lots of room to spread out. It was nice to have a fire pit to sit round in the evening. The washing up area, Toilet/ shower block was clean, spacious and practical, with a good supply of soft toilet rolls.

In a good location for lovely walks, some great pubs locally and nice places to visit.

Becca was very helpful with information on pubs, and the area.

This is a camp site for proper camping under the stars.

We loved it. Thank you.

User

One of the loveliest campsites we have been to in ages - plenty of space for lots of running around and games, great facilities, and really well run. And weather that was better than we could ever have hoped for this weekend - how lucky we were!

User

Loverly simple site on the South Downs Way. Fire pit, dogs are welcome and plenty of room. Prices are OK as well.

User

Just returning after our first trip camping with our 2 year old at Holden Farm and we couldn't be happier... An amazing place, chickens, horses, tractors and space galore for the little ones to explore. Egg hunting daily and eventually today our last hunt we found one!! Very happy little girl. The facilities are basic right now but everything else outweighs that little negative, you don't go camping for luxury, we certainly don't!! Becca and family are so welcoming and tractor man (as he is now known!) is a favourite of lucas now... We will definitely be returning and would definitely recommend. Amazing weekend thank you..

User

Great campsite, excellent facilities which were always clean despite the very wet weather. The owner Rebecca was fantastic with advice about the local area and helping to arrange lifts to and from start points for our walks along the South Downs Way. Would thoroughly recommend this place!

User

Fantastic campsite, so lucky to have such a beautiful place right on our doorstep, (We live just outside the New Forest) The sunk brick-lined fire puts radiate heat long into next day. Facilities are top notch and staff are very helpful. Absolutely going to come back again.

User

Everything a good campsite should be. Big pitches with fire pits (wood a little on the steep side perhaps, but the pitch itself was a bargain). Ablutions block very clean with plenty of hot water, soap, loo roll, etc. Also fridge, kettle and charging points available. A very friendly welcome, and lots of advice on local walks (South Downs Way passes through the farm), villages and things to do. Will be back!

User

Decided to book by phone and check it was ok to arrive at lunchtime, the lady was very helpful . On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly host and shown the camping field and facilities. There is a toilet and a portable shower which was absolutely fine for a weekend. Handy washing up area. Everything is clean and looked after. The camping field is huge so it was nice to be able to spread out with some shade under the trees. Great to see the young ones have plenty of room to play. Lovely to be able to walk straight out of the field onto the South Downs way, it makes a nice change to go a campsite that's all about being in the fresh air and enjoying the countryside rather than catering to the masses! We travelled as a couple with our dog and would definitely recommend and return. I'm sure it'll be even better next year with a permanent shower block.

User

Big up Sharon at Holden Farm. She couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful when I turned up in the rain and waited 4 hours on my own for friends to arrive for pre Boomtown camp. The site is lovely and the facilities are spotless. Thank you!

User

A total gem of a campsite!! Lovely site with simple, clean and well kept facilities. Becca is a super host and nothing was too much trouble. It was so lovely to feel so welcomed and be shown around the facilities on arrival. Lots of little thoughtful touches and a real commitment to recycling which is nice to see. The camping field is a beautiful very well sized field. You are free to choose your pitch which was perfect for us as it meant we were able to camp as a group. Just the most brilliant site.....we can't wait to come back!!

User

3rd time here and is officially my favourite campsite now! So much space, so quiet and facilities were always spotless. Sarah always on hand to answer questions about local walks/pubs etc. Beautiful area and campsite, cannot wait to return. Thank you for having us all!

User

3 nights at Holden Farm were excellent, true camping experience, we had our Labrador with us, no issues for him as the field was very big so we could have him on a long lead. Facilities are good, if not better than most. Becca and the team are nice helpful. I highly recommend it, speacially if you want to walk the countryside or visit Winchester Petersfield New Arlesford or the nice surrounding villages and real ale pubs.

User

Lovely site. Great facilities, although the mixed sex toilet/showers took a bit of getting used to. People who run it were super friendly and helpful.

User

Just returned from a lovely weekend. Even though I didnt pre-book and was told on arrival that the site was expected to be full - it wasn't and managed to find a nice pitch.

Great facilities, nice and clean and helpfull staff

Downside: bit of a trek to the Showers, toilets and to get water - oh, and the "noisy" kids at 07.30 on a Sunday morning!!

Shall return, and recommend this site - thanks!!
