We already know it’s a very special place and now it’s official - Pickering has been named one of the Top 10 UK staycation spots! And for those who like to be beside the seaside, Whitby, Scarborough and Filey all make the Top 10 - what a well deserved endorsement for North Yorkshire!!

Wow only 100 days to go until the 2018 Tour de Yorkshire! Stage 3 will be passing through Pickering and Thornton le Dale on it’s way from Richmond to Scarborough - don’t miss this great event!

User

We were delighted to be featured in the Yorkshire Post Magazine over the weekend as one of their Top 3 Yorkshire Places to Stay to see deer 🦌. I can confirm that these beautiful creatures are a common sight in these parts - often jumping out of the undergrowth on the steep, winding road to the Inn!

We stopped on the off chance for a meal on Sat lunch time. It was brilliant. Lovely friendly staff, atmospheric bar with fire and then the food was beautiful. The setting couldn't be more idyllic . All together a gem in the north riding of Yorkshire. Will definitely be back

User

We caught the train from Pickering to Levisham station and climbed the hill to Levisham village and we were definitely glad to see the pretty pub come into view around the corner. It was an added bonus that they welcomed both us and our two hounds into the pub. We had steak and ale pie with veg and chips followed by ice cream. The food was lovely and very reasonably priced. My husband had the North York Moors beer and it was so good, he had a second pint! We would definitely recommend visiting and if we holiday this way again, we will certainly be back

Very good inside and out, we ate out in the glorious sunshine and let the world pass by.the food was to die for I had pork, and the wife had chicken breast wrapped in bacon, fresh vegetables and a sticky toffee pud to finish. Will definitely be back

User

This is our midway stop off when doing the Hole of Horcum... and it is one of the main reasons we do this walk! The food is amazing, the ambience fabulous especially when the fire is roaring, and I love it so much that I'm looking to do an overnight stay as I'm sure this will complete my fantastic experience here. Well done to all for making it such a gem of a place

User

This is our 6th visit and we absolutely love it! Got home today after 4 nights staying here in the snow. It was perfect as always with fantastic food, hospitality and lovely staff. It took us 10.5 hours to get to in the snow but was totally worth it. We will definitely be back again next year! Thanks guys for a wonderful stay xx
