Back for 2018........
first time visit for me - pre going to local Octogon theatre Panto - food was excellent -my son and I had small steaks at £5.70 odd --it didn't break the bank -we didn't wait long (5 in party) we didn't wait long for our food at all and the young staff were very pleasant -the young man who brought our food -came back to ask if everything OK -despite being very busy - we definately recommend this pleasant eatery!
My first ever visit to a Hungry Horse (The Bell in Yeovil). Very surprised indeed for a lower budget eaterie. Staff were so friendly and obliging. Food beyond exceeded what I expected. Rump steak, bbq sauce, sweet potato fries and salad or coleslaw £5 (Tuesday special!) Superb value for money!!! Definitely a place to visit again.
I have to admit ...THE ULTIMATE BIG CANDYMANIA beat me.
Had a evening meal outside in the beer garden while my grandchildren played, food was very good , staff very helpful, had a lovely evening, thank you 😊
Great value for money the food was very tasty and hot, the service was fast and the waitresses very polite.
A big thank you to all the team for tonight. I booked for an end of season meal for an U12’s girls football team and their families. (36 people all together). We had a great area reserved to eat and the girls could play outside while waiting for their food and after and a good time was had by all. Food all arrived as ordered and was very good. Highly recommended and great value for money. Thank you.
Not bad food, you get what you pay for.. We have a meal here once a month with work lads... Cheap beer... Cheaper than any fast food and takeaways and alot tastier and filling... If you want fancy food go to a fancy restaurant... If you want good pub grub then this place is perfect without breaking the bank...
My wife and I always go there on a certain day of the year as it's where we had our wedding reception. So it holds a special memory for us. We've always liked The Bell. We love the atmosphere and the staff are always polite and helpful. It was very hot weather August 3rd so obviously we wanted to sit outside. My only negative thought of our recent visit was no umbrella to sit under, apart from one. Alot people were trying to shade under a tree. I think they should invest in more umbrellas to sit under in the hot weather.
First visit yesterday, was apprehensive because of the negative reviews. Chose as it’s a half way point to meet friends. Have to say I was pleasantly surprised we all ordered steak with a choice of sides. Food was cooked well, delivered quickly and very reasonably priced. We had inadvertently chosen the days special .. £5 for a steak lunch.. brilliant.
We found all the staff to be friendly and professional. We will return.
Drove down from Berkshire for a funeral.. The Bell offered a very reasonably priced menu , the fish & chips was delicious...nice garden to sit in & even found some shade
Don’t go with bd Bailey unless you check his got his wallet with him ;)
Came with my family and friends was their 1st time to the bell they where pretty surprised on how good the play park was n the food was ok kids menu needs more choice for the older fussy 1s as daughter wanted gammon but was quickly solved when we asked if she could pick of the golden oldies menu I had the beef yorkie wrap n it was fab more gravy needed tho..... need to do a man v food challenge I think we'll done all
Went in early this evening as being a Friday night thought would be busy. Service on food was quick but rather undercooked. Wasn’t checked on when our main meals came out and no one came over when they could see we were finished. Very disappointed and don’t think I will be returning for a while.
The food was ok and the staff are great and friendly. It’s always a good price for a nice slap up meal. However the men’s toilets are absolutely honking!! The toilets are absolutely stinking of piss and it’s really bad. Sort it out HH it’s really bad!
Food was good. Arrived timely.... but ... the table was "sticky" (think it might be the cleaning product as I asked the waitress to give it a wipe) it was still sticky, but clean. Then opened the menu (all of them) and each had grease, dried food on them and one even had a free chip with ketchup on it to boot! The ketchup bottle lid was also mucked up on the outside with dried ketchup - this is simple hygiene that should be monitored regularly throughout the day and just wiped up.
Really not a pub for customer service. My mum ordered a lime & soda. Hardly any lime was put in the drink so kindly asked for some more, she was told it would be 45p for an extra shot, bare in mind you can buy a whole bottle of lime for a few pound? So she walked away as had no cash, my sister went up again, and seen another barmaid who said the same, but she was very rude and was arguing with her, so again she walked away. Then my food came out, it was fajitas it was lovely food, but came with 4 wraps, I asked for an extra one because I had ran out and they refused and said that's how the meal came, and they couldn't change it? Talk about bad customer service, just seems their abit tight on their rules.
The food was really awful all frozen food, it was not freshly cooked to order. We had a Christmas meal menu so there was a few off us the staff didn't have a clue what was going on it was rubbish.......
Ordered a mixed grill. Came with a grand total of 8 chips . Gammon was overcooked, the 2 chicken fillets were completely absent. I complained about this and received one and a half chicken fillets, with one having been obviously cut or broken in half. Chicken was dry and grainy, tasting like it was from a tin.
This is the first time I have returned a meal anywhere, on the plus side they did give a full refund.
Have had better frozen meal roast dinners! Roast potatoes you needed a steak knife to cut. Beef was like ready meal meat. Complained to waitress and all I got was an offer of dessert. No thanks not after that roast. 3 nearly full plates went back. Definetly Won't be returning
Hadn’t been here for a few years and nothing has changed much apart from the food was poorer quality. Had a mixed grill. The waitress tipped an egg on to my jeans. The response oh obviously the word sorry wasn’t in her vocabulary. She did offer to replace the egg. The meal was not good with the chicken tasting particularly strange.
Clearly keeping beer is not their strong polnt. The quality was poor and no lacing on the glass at all.
It was Abbot and a Greene King product which is a reasonable beer if kept properly.
