Studies have also shown that using peppermint essential oil’s can improve your grip strength when lifting and can give you increased oxygen and blood flow through training. These essential oils are now apart of my daily routine, because knowing what they do is just not an option to miss out on.

Huge shoutout to our dedicated Pt client caroline. She trains at 7.30 am 3 times per week and is slaying the weights! This lady is one of the strongest women I have had the pleasure to train, powering through life the same way she powers through our sessions, with a positive mindset and taking complete control of her goals and destination. Amino Acids (AA’s) are the building blocks of protein and are linked together in differing formations. There are 22 AA’s we know of so far, 9 of which are ‘essential’ meaning that the body doesn’t naturally make them, meaning we have to consume them through food and (optional) supplements. 3 of these 9 essential AA’s are named branched-chain amino acids (BCAA’s). They are named as such as they have a ‘branch’ off... the main trunk of the molecule. These are named Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine and they are different to the others as they are mainly broken down in muscle instead of the liver. During training, our body can break down muscle to get BCAA’s for energy, therefore the theory behind taking additional ‘timed’ BCAA supplements is to help build muscle, prolong exercise capacity and spike muscle protein synthesis, meaning more gains 💪 When consumed this way, they bypass the digestive system and go straight to the bloodstream, which in turn spikes blood amino acid levels more quickly and to a greater extent than peptide bound AA’s in proteins.
BCAA’s are traditionally made using duck feathers, pig hair, kitten fur or human hair which is pretty gross when you think about it 🤢 These vegan friendly NANO BCAA’s are sourced from sunflowers which is way more appetising if you ask me! Plus they taste like cotton candy which is reason enough to drink them 🍭

Unassuming from the outside - packed with great machines on the inside. Lovely staff, with an abundance of knowledge. They were patient with my father and I, and offered expert advice. I am subscribed to a huge university gymnasium, but it does not come close to the range of machines and activities Iron Lion offers. I could not reccomend this place more. With easy/flexible subscription and drop-in options, I will definitely be going back.
