Island Boat Charters Donaghadee Description
Mermaid is a 35' Passenger Boat Licensed by the MCA to carry 12 Persons and carries Lifejackets, Liferaft, VHF radio , Radar and GPS.
Mermaid is available for a variety of uses upon request - such as:
Fishing Trips - some Rods available.
Wildlife Cruises - See the Birds and Mammals of the Copeland Islands . Birds such as Fulmar, Gannets, Razorbills, Guillemots and the Manx Shearwater. Mammals include Common and Grey Seals, Porpoise and the occassional Dolphin.
Puffin Trips - seasonal to when the puffins are on the Bird Island - generally May /June time.
Private Parties to all Copeland Islands subject to permission by land owners.
All trips are subject to Tide Variations and Weather Conditions.

What a fantastic couple of hours too spend out round copeland islands taking in all 3 islands thankyou Phillip my daughter and myself loved it and would highly recommend it to all my friends.........
Went over to the Copelands for the afternoon with family - brilliant weather & lovely just to walk around! Great trip - would recommend!
We loved the wildlife cruise around the Copeland islands, the captain was great at telling us about the birds we seen, and we stopped for a while to watch the seals.
Really recommend, fantastic way to spend a sunny afternoon.
We had a great day over on the Copeland's and the trip back was so funny with the wash and the spray of the wake soaking us all except Philip but I would recommend a trip with these folk anytime many thanks .
Unbelievable days fishing. 5 different species of fish caught including some very large cod. Very knowledgeable skipper, brilliant, will be back!!

THIS IS A MUST DO!!!
I don't think I have the words to describe how enjoyable the Island trip was. I have lived in Donaghadee all my life, been to the Copeland Islands many times, but I have never had the pleasure of the wildlife tour around them.
Our host, Phillip, the coxswain of our towns lifeboat, was enjoyably stoic, greeting us fleetingly and getting on with business. Professional and courteous, on such a beautiful day on 'The Gold Coast', that is Donaghadee, there was no time to waste.
A soothing voyage out of the towns harbour into a cooling summer mist added a magical flavour to our adventure.
There were all age groups on board, which demonstrates the tours appeal.
A trip around the big isle soon lead to the excitement of seals basking, puffins puffin, and guillemots... well, guillemotting...
Close up looks of the lighthouse and a guy ducking in Co. Downs most famous open air toilet were bonuses.
This is a great tour, a therapeutic hour and a half well spent for the meagre price of £15.00 per adult, it's money well spent. It will relax and enthrall you in equal measures.
Just go and enjoy!!!

Out today with philip we caught 140 mackral and some nice pollock and codling and colies highly recommend we will be booking again thanks philip.
My son wanted to try fishing, but i didn't have a clue where to start! I contacted Phil and he was great told me to bring him along and he would do the rest. We went last Sun morn and we had a great morning! Phil supplied the equipment and showed us what to do, he even took all my fish off the hooks as I was a wuss and wouldn't touch them lol. My son was great and loved it. The other guys on the boat were brilliant Craic too. We will defo be back and I mite even touch the fish next time lol (with gloves lol) thanks Phil x
My husband and stepson loved fishing last night. Next time they are bringing my daughter! Thank you

I got my dad on this fishing trip last sunday and it was a great day philip supplied fishing gear and everyone was so friendly definitely would recommend for anyone who enjoys fishing you can park car right at the harbour and walk to the mermaid definitely would recommend thanks philip. X

Great trip round the Copeland islands in glorious weather. Got really close to the puffins, manx shearwaters, terns, guillemots, seals etc. Lovely relaxing way to spend a summer`s afternoon.
Great trip out to sea the puffins and the seals, and Donaghadee from the sea.
Great trip around the three islands so three geocachers could claim their virtual reward by taking a selfie as close to Mew Island Lighthouse as possible. Thank you, Phillip.

Could not recommend this island cruise enough. Have lived in ‘the Dee’ for 35 years and never have I been as close to the seals and other amazing wildlife as Philip takes you. Fantastic opportunity to see Donaghadee from the water which is amazing on a sunny day! A really relaxing afternoon and suitable for all ages. Thanks again Philip, will 100% be back for more.
Caught plenty of fish! Well looked after, all equipment provided and great value for the price charged! Will defo be back! Also great being able to take as many fish as u wanted home!
Brilliant trip over with friends to see the Puffins who were just the most amazing wee birds!!! It was great to be so close to them & see them in their natural environment. Now we have a taste for the hidden gems at The Copelands we can't wait to book our next trip to go explore on foot!!
Brilliant evening spent with my family seeing the Copeland Islands & their wild life. Absolutely fantastic & I highly recommend it as a must do. Thank you so much. Next booking is for some fishing (can't let the seals) get them all lol.

I got my dad on this fishing trip last sunday and it was a great day philip supplied fishing gear and everyone was so friendly definitely would recommend for anyone who enjoys fishing you can park car right at the harbour and walk to the mermaid definitely would recommend thanks philip. X

Great trip round the Copeland islands in glorious weather. Got really close to the puffins, manx shearwaters, terns, guillemots, seals etc. Lovely relaxing way to spend a summer`s afternoon.

Great trip around the three islands so three geocachers could claim their virtual reward by taking a selfie as close to Mew Island Lighthouse as possible. Thank you, Phillip.

Could not recommend this island cruise enough. Have lived in ‘the Dee’ for 35 years and never have I been as close to the seals and other amazing wildlife as Philip takes you. Fantastic opportunity to see Donaghadee from the water which is amazing on a sunny day! A really relaxing afternoon and suitable for all ages. Thanks again Philip, will 100% be back for more.
Caught plenty of fish! Well looked after, all equipment provided and great value for the price charged! Will defo be back! Also great being able to take as many fish as u wanted home!
Brilliant trip over with friends to see the Puffins who were just the most amazing wee birds!!! It was great to be so close to them & see them in their natural environment. Now we have a taste for the hidden gems at The Copelands we can't wait to book our next trip to go explore on foot!!
