Little Angels Mead Vale

What a busy week we have had! This week we have been focusing on our letters, numbers and mark making. We have explored lots of different ways of making marks on different surfaces using different media. Then we have been practising our pencil grip when forming letters. We rearranged our number fish into the correct order and printed numbers using paint! Lastly we have been learning more about our listening skills and how important it is to use our kinds hands and words. This week is the last week of term for our term time children. We look forward to welcoming them back on the 25th February!

We’re very excited to share our plans for world book day and comic relief!

This week we have been celebrating chinese new year with some lovely activities. We have made chinese lanterns and explored the noodles by using chop sticks! We have also made a volcano! The children chose what colours they wanted and watched as it erupted!

Little Angels Mead Vale And Weston will be closed today, this is due to primary schools closing and staff having to stay with their children. We will be back open on Monday as usual. Enjoy your snow day. We apologise for any inconvenience.

This morning we have been out to explore the ice and see the changes in our environment outside due to the cold weather - It was very exciting.

A yellow weather warning has been issued for tomorrow for snow and ice across the area this comes in to affect from 1pm this afternoon until 9pm Friday! Good afternoon from all at Little Angels! We have a big announcement to make today - As of tomorrow (Wednesday 30th January 2019) we can confirm that we will be having a change of management between our two Nursery settings. Our very own nursery manager Natasha here at Weston is starting her initial teacher training in early years and will be moving to Mead vale and Gergana (who some of you may remember as our deputy at Weston) is moving from Mead Vale to Weston as Manager. ... Also moving to Weston with Gergana is Rebecca, our business manager. Any questions, queries or if you would like to meet with any of the managers, please let us know and we can arrange this. We would like to finish by wishing all staff good luck in their new roles.

Uh oh! Look who's arrived at Little Angels Mead Vale! Trixie the elf will be watching the children to make sure everyone is being good. But she might be up to some mischief during the night time.

What a busy day! Today we have explored our north pole small world scene with cloud dough. We have spoken about the effects of ice on our bodies. The children said their hands hurt after playing with the ice for too long! Outside we pretended to be lots of different animals then made a long snake! We had to be careful as we fell over. In the afternoon we used our hands and feet to make prints onto the paper (and floor!). Lastly we made dancing spiders using pens, foil and water! We have all had an amazing day!

This week has been a super busy, exciting week at Little Angels! Our topic has been the colour red! We have searched the nursery for red items, painted red shapes and explored how we can change the colour red by mixing it with other colours. We have also been making winter pictures by painting on cling film. Outside we used our extra large scales! We looked around the garden for items to put into the buckets and tried to balance them! Don't forget your pennies tomorrow for our children in need bake sale. The children have been busy making cakes and biscuits all morning to raise money for such a great cause x 50 per biscuit

Good Morning! We've kicked off children in need week by making a big pudsey bear!

Today we have been very busy at Little Angels Mead Vale. We started the day exploring clay, leafs and sticks. We made some amazing creations with them. We have also been talking about remembrance sunday, we watched a special video and spoke about why we wear poppies. Then we made our own poppy biscuits to take home. If you're in Mead Vale this weekend, come and have a look at our beautiful display of poppies that we have made on the boat.

We have had a super creative day here at Little Angels Mead vale. This morning the children were learning all about firework safety and made some beautiful pictures with lots of glue and glitter. They made up songs about the different types of fireworks and used the instruments to make lots of loud bangs. They also made their own carnival trucks with lots of colourful paint. This afternoon the children created their own car track and they had lots of fun driving around and using the tunnels to explore the speeds of a whole range of trucks, lorry's and cars.

Good afternoon! We have decided to have a whole week of exciting activities for children in need. Each day has a theme where the children and staff can join in. On Wednesday we will be baking lots of yummy treats that you can buy at the end of your child's session. All money will be going to children in need.
