Visited this lovely pub today as wanted to find it ready for our murder mystery evening in March! Wow it's fantastic. We had some hot drinks to warm us up before our drive back to Swansea. The food looked delicious. The staff were really friendly and there was a great cosy feel to the place! Can't wait to go back to provide the murder mystery evening!

Me and some friends had lunch this week and I'm not usually one to leave reviews but I felt one needed on this occasion. All staff were fab but in particular a Tony who tended to us mostly went above and beyond. My friend has just began a diary free diet, and he went out of his way to scan the allergy book that they have at the restaurant, to find suitable options for her. Many would argue he's paid to do it, but not all do and you can often find yourself be brushed off with the " Yea I think you can have that". He couldn't do enough for us but finished his shift before we got to say thank you. So can someone please tell Tony that the four girls (and a baby) who were sat in the conservatory on Tuesday lunchtime are very grateful! пњљ

Great food and customer service. Even when there was an issue, they handled it perfectly. Our waitress was very attentive and well worthy of her tip.

Beautiful Valentine's meal from start to finish. Staff couldn't do enough for us. Lots of choice from the Valentine's set menu. Food was really tasty and worth every penny. Also a special mention to our server, Beth. Polite, friendly and made us feel welcome. Thank you all. We can't wait to come back пњљ

Anyway what I wanted to explain, was that were my roll had been "toasted", it had been burnt and smelt of cigarettes. They had "toasted" the roll on the chargrill, which had left it with a very unpleasant smell, which I therefore couldn't eat. Apart from that, beautiful location

Very disappointed with our visit today. We were sat next to the back doors that wouldnвАЩt shut unless pushed. It was freezing and I had to keep getting up to shut the door. I lost count how many times. My son had a childвАЩs burger which looked like it had been half eaten then cooked again... We paid ¬£150 and it most definitely wasnвАЩt worth that.

The service was very slow and when the orders came the food was disappointing two of the three mixed grills we ordered were cold and had to be sent back and the meat in the roast dinners was very tough and the veg was very poor the only meal that was ok was the burger

Then when we ordered a second round of drinks they were forgotten and they had to be reminded

Then the bill was very high for what we had and no apology for the poor meals

Birthday treat for myself with 3 additional family members which my daughter booked a while ago.

We did arrive 10 minutes early but even though table booked for 7.30 we weren't seated until 7.45 but we were told they were running late. Think the price of drinks are too expensive for the venue but paid it due to a birthday treat. Will admit I was quite disappointed in the menu choice- did choose a rump which I requested medium but it was definitely rare and cold through the centre. Gammon my daughter ordered was really salty.....had to ask for the pineapple for the top. Son in law had to ask for coleslaw with his chicken dish, hubby choose mixed grill which was pretty poor for the price of £16.95. Ordered 2 desserts which were £10+ and waited over half an hour for them......chocolate fudge cake and ice cream! Fudge cake had been warmed but was cold and ice cream melted so it was obviously it had been hanging around. Felt the younger staff were of the 'cant be bothered' attitude apart from the lovely young man behind the bar- good job he was there, he did make my evening. Unfortunately we will not be returning because we felt it was overpriced for mediocre food

Quiet when we arrived yet had to chase staff for menus, then call them over again to order. Sat at 4pm, didn't get served mains until 5.30pm. And when they did arrive a member of my parties 'slow cooked lamb' was freezing cold in the middle. Not even warm. So not only was it not cooked properly, it was obviously not probed before leaving your kitchen. So again we had to find a member of staff to explain this to, which didn't even follow with an apology.

Staff did not ask what we would like done ie, another lamb dinner, different meal. Just put down another 'slow cooked lamb' and off they went. No check back on the food either.

Very poor complaints procedure. Guest relations say you will be contacted within 7 days....and guess what, haven't heard from them. Needless to say...we won't be returning!!

A great menu with excellent service, we had lots of fish from starter and main sections, and and mixed grill was fantastic!

Great food and customer service. Even when there was an issue, they handled it perfectly. Our waitress was very attentive and well worthy of her tip.

Beautiful Valentine's meal from start to finish. Staff couldn't do enough for us. Lots of choice from the Valentine's set menu. Food was really tasty and worth every penny. Also a special mention to our server, Beth. Polite, friendly and made us feel welcome. Thank you all. We can't wait to come back пҝҪ

A great night out as always the staff are brilliant especially Alex who is always there with a smile and is really helpful, the food was really good as always and all 6 of us enjoyed every mouthful. Can't wait to go back again.

We went here (2 adults 2 children) on NY eve for lunch. We booked a table at 12:15pm.



I had the(trio) Sunday roast which was very nice. The food was hot and very tasty. IвҖҷd give it 5 stars if the beef had been as stunning as the pork and turkey. Lovely gravy too, with plenty of veg.



The kids had nice meals with ice cream dessert. Including drinks (three soft drinks and a beer) it was ВЈ50 in all - canвҖҷt go wrong really. WeвҖҷll definitely go back again.

We had a table for two. starters and main courses were great . . honestly can't fault it.

Service was friendly and fast. . we really enjoyed it.

Nice place to have a drink.. no food being served due to a fire in the kitchen. We were informed the kitchen would be closed for 10days. However menus were still out so a slightly confusing situation. Will possibly return again in the future.

Have been here a few times and have always enjoyed..pleasant, friendly staff and nice enviroment. However when visiting last night the food was a let down, it seems the presentation of the food has been changed and the portion sizes have gone smaller. Prawn cocktail was served in china teacup and the burger seemed small (as me and my partner had the same) and a little tasteless. It stated there would be pork crackling within and it seemed non-existent. Considering the price of the food, i dont think we will be returning any time soon. Such a shame.

Bar staff very attentive and helpful. Meal brought out but no one came back to check everything was ok. After we finished no one came and cleared our plates away and therefore not asked if we wanted puddings. My son and I both had the chicken burgers, I had the garlic and rosemary buttermilk version, but was no taste of either. After what seemed a long time waiting for someone to come, I stood up and called someone over. Think he was the manager. Anyway what I wanted to explain, was that were my roll had been "toasted", it had been burnt and smelt of cigarettes. He assured me that there would be no smoking in the kitchen, but that wasn't what I was implying. They had "toasted" the roll on the chargrill, which had left it with a very unpleasant smell, which I therefore couldn't eat. Apart from that, beautiful location

Visited the Maenllwyd Inn for a special occasion with a party of 9, extremely disappointed with the quality of the food and portion sizes were very poor! Hunters Chicken was served with 7 chips!! пҝҪ WonвҖҷt he rushing back пҝҪ

Very disappointed with our visit today. We were sat next to the back doors that wouldnвҖҷt shut unless pushed. It was freezing and I had to keep getting up to shut the door. I lost count how many times. My son had a childвҖҷs burger which looked like it had been half eaten then cooked again... We paid ВЈ150 and it most definitely wasnвҖҷt worth that.

The service was very slow and when the orders came the food was disappointing two of the three mixed grills we ordered were cold and had to be sent back and the meat in the roast dinners was very tough and the veg was very poor the only meal that was ok was the burger

Then when we ordered a second round of drinks they were forgotten and they had to be reminded

Then the bill was very high for what we had and no apology for the poor meals

Birthday treat for myself with 3 additional family members which my daughter booked a while ago.

We did arrive 10 minutes early but even though table booked for 7.30 we weren't seated until 7.45 but we were told they were running late. Think the price of drinks are too expensive for the venue but paid it due to a birthday treat. Will admit I was quite disappointed in the menu choice- did choose a rump which I requested medium but it was definitely rare and cold through the centre. Gammon my daughter ordered was really salty.....had to ask for the pineapple for the top. Son in law had to ask for coleslaw with his chicken dish, hubby choose mixed grill which was pretty poor for the price of ВЈ16.95. Ordered 2 desserts which were ВЈ10+ and waited over half an hour for them......chocolate fudge cake and ice cream! Fudge cake had been warmed but was cold and ice cream melted so it was obviously it had been hanging around. Felt the younger staff were of the 'cant be bothered' attitude apart from the lovely young man behind the bar- good job he was there, he did make my evening. Unfortunately we will not be returning because we felt it was overpriced for mediocre food

Quiet when we arrived yet had to chase staff for menus, then call them over again to order. Sat at 4pm, didn't get served mains until 5.30pm. And when they did arrive a member of my parties 'slow cooked lamb' was freezing cold in the middle. Not even warm. So not only was it not cooked properly, it was obviously not probed before leaving your kitchen. So again we had to find a member of staff to explain this to, which didn't even follow with an apology.

Staff did not ask what we would like done ie, another lamb dinner, different meal. Just put down another 'slow cooked lamb' and off they went. No check back on the food either.

Very poor complaints procedure. Guest relations say you will be contacted within 7 days....and guess what, haven't heard from them. Needless to say...we won't be returning!!
