Such a warm welcome from Carys and a lovely full head of blonde highlights from Emily. The whole experience from start to finish was just so warm and relaxing with all the special little touches! I couldn't have asked for anything else! Thanks girls 😘

So it took me almost 10 years to finally find that RIGHT ONE hairdresser. Went to see Ben today and his approach, professionalism and personality are totally amazing. He loves his work and indeed very good in what he is doing. I have a bob and it's so hard to find the person who is not afraid to offer something different and challenge :) absolutely brilliant job he did today with my hair and styling - came out from the salon completely different person. Thank you, Ben and see you soon :)

Moved back to Bath area after 6 years away and was delighted to go back to Melanie Giles in Bath, where I used to go for years. Nothing beats a coffee and a croissant from the aga in this cosy and beautiful salon. I can't tell you how absolutely thrilled I am with my colour and cut. Katie gave excellent advice about my colour and for the first time in 20 years, I steered clear of my platinum blonde and have the most incredible honey blonde hair - I wish I had been given this advice years ago. Lucky enough to have Mel herself cut and curl my hair - my husband didn't recognise me!! SO good to be back.

Melanie your whole BOA team rock!!! I love coming for cut and colour and the results are always great but today has been extra special. Cramming a cut in before a business trip I have my twins with me. One has an accident on the way from the car hurting his elbow badly. As soon as we entered the salon your team, especially Brandon swung in to action providing first aid but most of all kindness to us all. I am very grateful and it's what makes this place extra special.

I’ve recently been to Melanie Giles in Bradford On Avon, and the experience I had was amazing! I don’t go to hair salons often but this was one of the best I have been to, the atmosphere and friendly welcome was well received. I had my hair cut by Stacey, she was very kind and helpful as I wasn’t 100% sure at first what I wanted, once we’d agreed on cut and style, she did my hair exactly how she said she would and I was very pleased with it, love my hair and the customer service she gave!:) very talented! would definitely recommend!

I've been coming to Melanie Giles in Bath for over 5 years now. I absolutely love the environment, the staff, the products and most of all I come away feeling pampered.

Today I had Nelly and Billy. What a great combination.

I always book with Katie if I can but today it wasn't possible to see her. Billy did a great job with washing and massaging my hair and the blow dry was fantastic. It takes a lot of patience and perseverance to blow dry my hair. Thank you.

I went to Bradford-on-Avon branch for the first time earlier this week. My appointment was with Stacey and she was great. The cut is perfect and I’ll definitely be heading back.

I want to say a massive huge thankyou to fern for my amazing haircut, honestly it’s the best I’ve ever had. So professional & very easy to get along with � would highly recommend �

I had a full head of highlights done today at MG, Bath. Thanks to Bella. You did a great job. I am really happy with the results.

I always used to leave a salon feeling disappointed with the result and the poor customer care. Rarely did anyone really listen to my wishes and I felt as though I was on a conveyor belt to be done and dusted as quickly as possible. All that changed when I discovered Katie at the Bath branch. From the start I felt that she really cared, was a great listener and showed great skill whist being lovely and friendly. Last year I had a hair crisis when it fell out due to illness. Katie helped me through this tough period and with her skill and caring attitude she did a brilliant job in helping me to feel good about the way I looked and felt about myself. I'm more than happy to travel to Bath from Swindon. Having my hair done now is a real treat. Thanks Katie, you are a star!

Had a great appointment with Jack in Bath last week. Loved the fact he showed me how to keep me hair naturally wavy without it being frizzy. I would definitely recommend to a friend!

Had a fantastic time at Melanie Giles frome today!!! Mimi and the team are brilliant!! Mimi has turned my hair into a gorgeous red and I’m in love!! Complimentary coffee and warm croissant with jam �� then a hand massage by another lovely lady and when I had my hair washed the apprentice put my feet up on a stool whilst washing my hair and put the chair massager on and gave me a head massage. It really was a blissful treat. ��

Had a balayage done by Fern at the BOA salon this week and I absolutely love it! The girls at the desk were also so friendly in helping me decide what to do. Would 100% recommend to a friend ☺️

Best salon ever, a cafe area in the BoA salon kept kids and husband happy whilst I had my hair done. After a small house fire, I'd suffered a few superficial burns to my face and large chunks of my hair had been burnt off. I received a lovely welcome and had been booked a little extra time to look at the damage and find a plan. Once consultation was complete, she gave a lovely, grounding head, neck and shoulder massage with essential oil which made me feel very relaxed! A shampoo and cut later and some clever snipping, you wouldn't even know I have a bald patch and some seriously frazzled hair! I couldn't believe the fairness of the price when I left, I swallowed hard expecting a big bill and it was only £43 which I thought seemed amazing considering the time and care I received. Highly recommended and thank you for helping me feel a whole lot better after a bit of a shocking incident!

Ben is a genius colourist - I’m so glad I have him in my life now - thanks Ben, I am so pleased with the result! He managed to get the colour I have wanted for years using highlights, lowlights and a toner. Having hair washed in the massage chair was a real treat too - thank you to lady with long blue hair!Also, thank you to Christine for a great cut and chat! �

A lovely Melanie Giles experience with Kez on this sunny Saturday in Bradford on Avon. So very professional with excellent skill, care and attention. Kez goes that ‘extra mile’ to ensure complete customer satisfaction. Thank you x

We visited the BOA Salon Monday. We took my MIL for a drastic chop. She Donated a huge amount of hair to little princess charity. Helping a student in their hair career felt like a double whammy of good deeds.

Starting with the positives.

1. Beautiful salon tucked away in BOA. Nice and clean.

2. Cheap £15 hair cut. Obviously get what you pay for.



The negatives.

1. The salon felt dull, lifeless and not a happy vibe. I understand that nerves may be high but just felt like everything was forced. Forced smiles, felt more of a problem than an actual enjoyment.

2. Before appointment at 11. Another employee from another MG salon branch. Message her stating her appointment at 11 had been cancelled and to call the salon to arrange for the 1pm that afternoon. Which caused huge confusion for MIL. Assuming she got MIL details from the Facebook model wanted post. Was mentioned at the time.

3. No where in the salon does it state “No photos” my 9yr old went to take a photo of his Nanna’s hair before the chop and was abruptly told no photos. I apologies as thought I may have missed a sign. But actually I hadn’t. He’s 9. He was taken quite back from this, it was a completely innocent photo. I completely understand your photo policy now. Just maybe there should have been a sign.



Moving forward from the negatives. Please put a sign up stating no photos.

I wish the students well. But in all honesty I don’t think we will return. I would like to recommend but unfortunately I don’t think I would.

I have come to MG in BOA on numerous occasions and have always had a pleasant experience. However, last Thursday I came and a stylist cut my hair. We agreed on her trimming off an inch and for my hair to be longer at the front and shorter at the back. This was very clearly stipulated. After over an hour at the salon it became apparent that she had taken almost 3 inches off and it was shorter at the front. I had specifically asked for her to keep the shape and she completely changed it.



Thankfully, the manager quickly rectified the situation and I had a fantastic cut today. While they were quick to remedy the situation I do feel that the salon could have taken responsibility for what was a poor cut and not what their customer had asked for.

Shocking service. Destroying someone's hair and taking no responsibility for it? Nor having the decency to even refund, or offer to pay for it to be fixed? Christ almighty. People wonder why local businesses fail?!



It's all down to custom. Remember, they're the ones that make your business. The happier you make them, the more you'll get in return.
