This patient didn't like the look of this large silver filling, making his tooth look black. We helped give him a whiter smile by replacing the old amalgam silver filling with a new white composite one. This made his tooth blend in with the others and he was overjoyed with the result.

Ok, so the answer to this question is… Dark Chocolate! Well done to everyone that knew this. The obvious opinion for many to this question is dried fruit, because we are always told how good fruit is for us. This however is not the case with dried fruit. Many dried fruits are sticky, and sticky foods can damage your teeth since they tend to stay on the teeth longer and leave behind lots of sugar. As for dark chocolate, the cocoa beans contain tannins, polyphenols and flavon...oids, each of which is a type of strong antioxidant that benefits your mouth, they help prevent cavities by inhibiting bacteria from sticking to your teeth. This is not an excuse to rush to the shop and buy all their dark chocolate to munch through at the weekend. The best form of dark chocolate for your dental health is the kind that contains less that 8 grams of sugar per serving, or raw chocolate. So, you better put that dark chocolate KitKat back down and head for health food aisle!

This patient had been using Corsodyl mouthwash on a regular basis. Although Corsodyl is great for infections, prolonged use can cause staining of the teeth as seen here.

My teeth were in very bad shape due to incompetence from former dentists but I'm so glad I went to Murray Dental. I had been thinking of getting my teeth professionally whitened, and took advantage of the offer that Murray Dental Service were offering. From booking the appointment to have the process carried out the management and staff were friendly and professional. Emmett explained what would happen and how long it would take before I would see a change in my teeth.



At first the treatment began to make my gums feel rather sentative but I knew this could happen, so I preservered with it and am glad to say it wasn't long before I could start to see a difference in the colour of my teeth. The treatment lasted for 14 days and I had hoped to see a bigger change by the end of it, and although I thought they would be whiter I am more than pleased with the result at present and can always do a top-up of treatment as and when required.



So all and all I am totally pleased with the service and treatment received from Murray Dental and would definately recommend their service to anyone.
