Music Service For Pipes And Drums

Music Service for Pipes and Drums was formed in October 2014 to encourage young people to learn Highland Bagpipes, Snare Drums and associated instruments.

The Music Service for Pipes and Drums (MSPD) supplies tutors to teach children the art of playing the Highland Bagpipes, Snare Drums, Tenor Drums and Bass. Once the children are at the required standard they will get the opportunity to join one of the associated Juvenile Bands. This will give the young players the experience to perform at concerts, festivals and competitions. The goal of the service is to have Juvenile Pipes and Drums in each of the education boards in Northern Ireland by 2016. The Music Service also offers children the opportunity to study their chosen instrument and gain accredited examinations.

The MSPD works in conjunction with the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association NI (RSPBANI).
