About Oasis Overland

Oasis Overland - Adventure trips from 5 days to 40 weeks in Africa, South America, Central Asia and South East Asia. We have local transport tours to Pakistan, Peru, Bolivia, Morocco and Jordan as well as our multi-country overland truck trips.

Oasis Overland Description

We believe our overland trips give travellers the opportunity to widen their horizons, travelling in a unique way to out of the way places and famous sites, to see incredible landscapes, try out adventurous activities, experience different cultures and to create long lasting friendships. Overlanding is a unique and cheap way to travel and can get you to places you might otherwise never see or experience. Plus there’s the added bonus of security and peace of mind that travelling as part of a group brings and not having the worries and hassles that can occur when trying to organise a trip alone.

Who joins an Oasis Overland trip?

Adventurous people mainly in their 20s and 30s, from all walks of life and nationalities. This is a great way to travel if you’re on your own but friends and couples join us too. All you need to have is reasonable fitness, a willingness to muck in with the day to day running of the trip and a desire to travel in areas where there is often little infrastructure and where things do not always go to plan! We do not hold your hand every step of the way (but that said our crew are there for you when needed! )

Trip Styles:

Regional Explorers - adventure sightseeing trips of between 8 to 30 days. Groups are no larger than 20 people per Tour Leader in order to maximise your enjoyment at local sites. We stay in mainly small, 3 Star, locally owned hotels and travel by means of various local transport. The hotels we use have en-suite facilities, air-conditioning and in Egypt many even have swimming pools! Transport includes overnight public train, air-conditioned coach, Felucca sail boats on the Nile and reed canoes in Peru! On some tours we also take one or two internal flights between cities.

Overland Adventures – We use our own purpose built overland vehicles with a crew of two, which carry up to 24 travellers on trips between 19 days and 15 weeks! As part of the adventure you have an active involvement in the day to day running of the trip, getting stuck in and helping with various tasks - cooking camp meals, pitching your tent or keeping the truck clean & tidy. In Africa we camp, mainly at campsites but also in the open desert and bush. Facilities and standards vary - at bush camps there are no facilities! On the Middle East and South America trips, around half the time we are in hostels or simple hotels with the rest being camping. Expect to sometimes get dusty & dishevelled and to not have hot showers every night.

Ultimate Expeditions - Trans-continental expeditions from 9 to 39 weeks using purpose built vehicles with a crew of two, which carry up to 24 travellers. A tougher and more extreme style of our Overland Adventure trips, you must expect a higher degree of hardship and to be completely off the beaten track, reliant on the truck, equipment and stocks carried on board. Again, you will be expected to have a very active involvement in the day to day running of the trip from cooking meals to digging the truck out of bog holes! An open mind, helping and participating in the unexpected as well as partying is definitely a prerequisite on these trips!

Went on the South America trip, Lima to Rio.

Was incredible. Went to so many fantastic places. Both tour leader and driver were fantastic. Very knowledgeable and personable. Always felt safe and that everything was in control. Truck life was fantastic and have made friends for life with everyone I met on the trip. Would thoroughly recommend and will be doing a trip with Oasis again in the near future

Oasis Overland took us from Quito to Rio.... absolutely amazing! The guide (Danny) and driver (Liam) were awesome - professional, helpful and a real laugh. The truck was comfortable, spacious and well-stocked. If you're thinking of booking, BOOK IT! It's the best decision you'll make.

MARAVILLOSAMENTE EXCELENTE!!!!! SOLO ESA ES LA PALABRA PARA DENOMINARLOS.

Loved my 15 week trip from Rio in Brazil to Quito in Ecuador. We had the fantastic driving of Gareth and our amazing Tour Leader Kim helped us all the way. Was tough and cold at time but we had great food, never went hungry. We camped some fantastic places, which made up for the rough ones. The hotels or hostels were generally good too.

The main point of doing the trip was to experience South America, and I squeezed in as much as I could. I climbed my first (and last!) volcano, did the Inca trail, flew over the Nasca lines, experienced the iguazu waterfalls from both sides and so much more!

Do it. Highly recommend

Just returned from the 17 week London to Beijing and had an amazing time. The support before the trip from the office was spot on and Kyle and Kate running the trip couldn't be faulted. You see some amazing things and places along the way and I'd definitely recommend it.

User

I've done two trips now-one with Alun and Walter in Africa (epic!), and one with Kim, Gareth and Liam in South America. Both trips were amazing and unique. I have made pretty much life long friends from doing these trips. If you don't like 'pitching in' these aren't the trips for you, but if you are hesitating... and you can handle a little uncomfortableness, go for it! Highly recommend!

User

I have done most, if not all of my overland trips with OasisOverland

They are a very good company, their drivers and leaders very good, they know their stuff

My Sth American trip with Danny and Colin was the best trip I ever did

The trip I did with Mark to Turkey in the Mini bus was really good and the places we stayed at were a real surprise

If you want a good Overland trip, give Oasis a try, you will be hard to find better

I have been on the Cuzco - La Paz trip in September and it couldn't have been a better experience. Everything was perfectly organised. Ricardo even took care of us beyond the actual trip. Had a brilliant time and the craic was mighty!! Would definitely recommend this to everyone who is looking for something special.

User

I did Africa and South America with Oasis Overland. Absolutely the best company out there for overland travel!

User

Having done two trips with Oasis, Cape Town to Cairo in 2014 and Quito to Rio in 2016, I couldn’t recommend them more. Great value for money, knowledgeable and friendly crew and a fantastic way to travel some of the most beautiful parts of the world

User

Great experience, would recommend to anyone, especially first time traveller!

User

Fabulous short trip to Pakistan, trekking and exploring the delights of the Gilgit Baltistan region, surrounded by beautiful 8000m peaks of the Karakorum and Himalayas. The local operator was very experienced, gave us a great insight into the culture and history, organising small local vehicles and local clothes for us. The team at Oasis efficiently helped us organise the trip at last minute so thanks to all involved. A fantastic experience and a must visit for all mountain lovers.

User

Everything you could ever want as a traveler.

Did a 2 month long trip from Kenya to Cape Town, and it was probably the best 2 months of my life. The truck is great, "staff" (driver and tour leader) even better, and the group feels just like family right away.

The best part is, it's also one of the cheapest overland companies you'll find.

Thank you for an amazing experience oasis! Definitely traveling with you again!

User
