Old Bridge- Wedding Reception & Special Occasions Description
Welcome to the historical Old Bridge, a 16th Century Elizabethan manor house, located in rural Somerset. Surrounded by two acres of enchanting grounds and gardens, it is the perfect setting for your special occasion. Old Bridge is built with the local, honey coloured Ham Stone and has a wonderfully warm and unique character. It is our pleasure for us to share it with those of you who would like to enjoy the property as a majestic backdrop to a memorable celebration.
We are entirely focused on your special day. Our events will never overlap to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible. You will have exclusive use of the marquee, gardens and grounds for your event allowing you to arrange all the proceedings as you wish. You will have access to the venue the day before your event to prepare and install your decorations and also on the day after to clear down and collect any belongings.
Old Bridge is a perfect venue for gatherings both large and small. Our marquee can be partitioned to accommodate smaller parties. All of the facilities we provide are flexible and can be moulded to fit your needs. From 2017, we will open the main hall in the house with a licence for Marriages. You also have the freedom to arrange your preferred food, drink and entertainment exactly as you wish and an added bonus – we don’t charge corkage or VAT.

We had a lovely family Christmas, utilising all the space that we are very lucky to have. Putting everything back together again now as we are showing newly engaged couples round and have a ceremony booked in February.
As we say goodbye to 2018 we look forward to 2019... 17 reception weddings booked and one exciting charity ball (more details to follow). June 29th, July 6th, July 20th and September 14th are currently free if anyone wants an Old Bridge wedding this year.

So lovely to be able to host a wedding for a friend in the business yesterday. They followed their ceremony with a wedding breakfast just up the road at the New Farm Restaurant.
Feeling festive in the ceremony room. Partly because we have a wedding here on Saturday, but more importantly it’s where our family of 15 will be sitting down to eat on Christmas Day! 🎄 🦃

We are back from our holiday and thinking about next summer. Its looking pretty busy - only 4 weekends left (29/6, 6/7, 14/9 and 28/9) and 2020 is getting booked up too. Don't forget we are available for ceremonies all year round.
For all our newly wed couples who now have a growing family! Sarah’s studio is just up the road from Old Bridge.
Run by Suzy from Blooming Divine with all proceeds to St Margaret’s Hospice.
Wow! We are proud to say that Mel is local and has provided cakes to Old Bridge before.

The marquee is coming down and my beautiful variegated yukka has decided to flower for the first time since I planted it at least 20 years ago! What a lovely end to a great season here at Old Bridge!

We were so proud to see our daughter Aimee and Son in law Rob married on 8th July. They couldn't have picked a better venue for the reception. Everyone attending was very impressed with the venue and all that it provides. Cannot recommend the Old Bridge high enough
We first found Old Bridge shortly after we got engaged and fell in love with the venue straight away, it was everything we wanted. We would like to thank John, Liz and their team for going the extra mile with everything that they did for us and help make the day so special. From the countless times we went to see the venue to all their help on the big day – nothing was too much! All our guests complemented on how stunning the venue was, it was a dream come true! Highly recommend Old Bridge as a wedding venue and we will certainly be spreading the word to our friends! Love the new Mr & Mrs Sparks x

Our daughter and son in law choose somewhere exceptionally beautiful to get married,The Old Bridge, a step back in time, an Elizabethan Manor House with the most tranquil of gardens, lawns, trees, and flowers.
The marquee in the garden is large with plenty of room for reception, band, dancing, and extra additions if wanted.
Plenty of good photo opportunities amazing back round settings.
The owners Elizabeth and John were very supportive, a lovely couple, who were always there to help with advise if wanted, but never seemed to be intrusive, that extra support was invaluable and helped to achieve the very best memories for a lifetime.

Old Bridge was the perfect venue for our wedding. The ability to make the day completely how we wanted it was exactly what we were looking for and is so rare in the area. Old Bridge was a dream come true, we couldn’t recommend this wedding venue enough. We got married 07/07/18 on a glorious, very hot summers day! We would like to send a massive thank you to John and Liz and family for having us and sharing your beautiful home as our wedding venue! Our guests were stunned with this hidden gem, as nobody had heard of this place before, so when they arrived it completely blew everybody away, it exceeded our expectations completely! I absolutely loved the freedom of decorating such a beautiful place and creating a wedding completely personalised to you as a couple! Our wedding felt completely unique to us and if that’s what you’re looking for, Old Bridge definitely has that! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts, always a special place to us! Having our wedding reception at Old Bridge was an absolute dream come true. Not only did we have the happiest day and evening of our lives there but all of our guests were blown away by both its beautiful presentation and gorgeous atmosphere. John and Liz are an incredible team together - their kindness and respect from beginning to end repeatedly kept on impressing us all! We would not change a single thing about Old Bridge and just wish we could have our wonderful wedding day there all over again!

From the moment we had the crazy idea of planning our wedding in 6 tiny months and came to view Old Bridge I knew there was no where else...Even on a bleak March afternoon!!
The house and gardens are picture perfect, the marquee is beautiful even when empty. John and Liz offer everything as a blank canvas for you to create the day you wish... And in this case less is more as the venue says it all.
Nothing was too much trouble and our day really so personal to us, it matched our family and Personality and was utterly perfect.
Thank you John and Liz for sharing your beautiful house and making our wedding planning experience so simple and easy. Xxx
Blown away by the every aspect of Old Bridge and cannot thank John and Liz enough for their hospitality. We had such an amazing day at Old Bridge as did our guests - smiles all day!
We had a selection of guests with limited mobility, two of which had wheelchairs and the facilities were fantastic for them.
I would reccommend anyone getting married to check out Old Bridge as their venue.
