We visited Father Christmas today at Palmers. As well as being free there was no queue. Donations suggested which we were more than happy to do. He was amazing! He spent ages talking to the children and had a fabulous rapport. We were all delighted. No present at the end which was great as we have enough junk in our house. The fact that he put on a magical performance was a gift in itself. Cannot recommend this highly enough. A truly wonderful start to our Christmas holiday back in the UK. Our 5 year old said 'It was awesome to meet the real Santa.'
The only meal I have eaten here is on the breakfast menu and is always excellent. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the seating area is always clean and tidy and inviting.
Often visit both the garden centre and the restaurant, always greeted in a lovely manner by very friendly staff. Always good selection of fresh food in a lovely clean environment. Very relaxing but can be a bit busy. Highly recommended.
My husband and I have been coming here for breakfast most Thursdays for quite some time now.
The restaurant is always clean and tidy no matter how busy it is,
the food is consistently of a high standard, the prices are fair and the staff are always friendly and helpful.
See you next week x
Love this place, bring my 90 yr old Nan for lunch regularly. The staff are are lovely and makes a customer feel very special when they recognise you!! The food is always excellent too, and the product range for both home and garden is second to one .
Have just had a car very lunch. Full plate and very tasty. Coffee could have been warmer is my only comment.
Staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble.
If I visit Somerset again I will defiantly pop in again.
I work in a garden centre in Hampshire and staff there struggle to smile let alone say hello.
Lovely clean and friendly is how I sum my visit up,
Well done
Deborah
Great place to have a good wander; buy things you didn't actually leave home for; then have a meal or a snack. The food, with a wide variety of dishes, is always good - the Brie is excellent. The service is always friendly. I go here frequently. It's a great meeting place.
Great place for an early evening meal at the end of the week. Sadly they've stopped the Indian and takeaway food but the new menu is great
Great place fir just a cuppa & shop about .even better when we have late Brunch .cant falt it .Its Amazin. I can recommend palmers at any time of year x
Came in with a friend today for a look around, decided we would have lunch. We asked at counter if coronation chicken had any onion in it, we were told by a lovely young lady no it didn't , she explained how it was made and asked my friend was she allergic to onion, yes she is. Young lady said she would note this on the order as then the members of staff making the sandwiches would use new gloves incase she had previously handled onion . When order was brought to the table the waitress said , ladies, these were made on New boards and new gloves. We wouldn't hesitate to visit again
Always call at Palmers on the way down from Lincolnshire or coming back from my annual Cornwall pilgrimage for their wonderful breakfasts but today had a Sunday roast and it was another level. Well worth the short diversion of the A303
We had lunch every nice burger, good service unfortunately my friend ordered a jacket potato and they had run out but we didn't find this out until we had paid and sat down. A little over priced But we will retun.
I come here a lot as a single person. Look forward to cauliflower cheese roast omelettes paninni cakes good coffee etc but today was different sloppy oily cottage pie carrots and peas luke warm and not much of it sorry guys not a good day. Ive rated the 4 on previous visits at 8.50 it was a rip off
Food was good but it's arse about face. Really odd how you have to pay for your carvery and then collect it, and then when you are half way through filling your plate you get asked "do you want a hot drink with that ?" trouble is you've already paid, so had to decline and had free tap water instead. And what's this complimentary pudding? luckily my wife saw the notice, but I missed it. Really needs a re think.
Enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea, was asked for feedback! Was pleased with everything although we did make a few suggestions. Will defo be going back for more afternoon tea x
Cafe was okay however price for a pot of tea was over the top ... if you have a cup of tea ie one tea bag £1.30 Pot of Tea £2.90 !! Same tea bag just bit more water so if you buy 2 separate cups of tea £2.60 so why extortionate price for a tea pot ?? even lovely tea shop 3 Wishes in Sherborne is on £2.60 ... won’t be doing that again !
A pleasent dining experience however our normal food order of tuna mayo roll was ruined by lack of mayo in the tuna making difficult to eat.
I normally enjoy eating here but sadly I had breakfast there yesterday morning and it wasn't even satisfactory. The eggs were not cooked properly and the fried bread didn't taste right. I'm not sure if this was just a one off or it was my horrendous hangover that made me feel that way but when I returned home I had stay very close to a toilet/sink for security purposes
Overly priced. Poorly presented shop. We were not allowed to take an empty cardboard box from a huge pile by the door. - Very petty! Will not be returning.
