ULTIMATE ELTON & THE ROCKET BAND WEDNESDAY 15TH AUGUST
SELLING FAST
... Some tribute artists look like their idol, some sound like their idol. Paul Bacon as Elton John does both! Close your eyes and you won’t believe your ears, open your eyes and you won’t believe them either! You simply won’t find a closer tribute to Sir Elton John.
A lifelong Elton John fan, Paul first started singing and performing Elton’s songs whilst studying Performing Arts at University in the early 1980s. With an extraordinarily similar singing voice to Sir Elton’s, Paul is able to draw on an amazing back catalogue of hits to produce a truly wonderful celebration of Elton’s music. Paul’s performances often feature some of Elton’s actual clothes, bought from his 'Out the Closet' sales. Ultimate Elton & The Rocket Band were delighted to perform at Carfest North in 2015.
Elton John’s extraordinary repertoire means that Ultimate Elton can serenade an audience with some of the most beautiful ballads ever written, including Your Song, Candle in the Wind, Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me, Sacrifice, and Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word. He can also change the pace and get people on the dance floor with classics like Crocodile Rock, I’m Still Standing, The Bitch is Back and Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting). Ultimate Elton’s challenge is often not what to play, but what to leave out!
With Elton’s catalogue of hits there will be something for everyone!

Interested in becoming more mindful?
For decades now, scientific research has been showing how useful mindfulness is for reducing stress, anxiety and depression, helping people manage a wide range of physical conditions, and for our general wellbeing. So mindfulness isn’t only useful if you’re feeling stressed or challenged – it can also help any of us enjoy a more wakeful, healthier, happier life. However there are some things you need to know before you sign up for a mindfu...lness course.
Join us for this introduction to mindfulness with qualified and experienced teachers trained at the University of Exeter. The session will include some practical experience and plenty of discussion about the benefits of a regular mindfulness practice in all its forms. You’ll also learn a powerful present-moment practice to use whenever the need takes you.
It is important to know about the basics of mindfulness-based teaching before you embark upon any mindfulness course and this introduction is geared up to empower you to make the right choice of teacher and training.
This is a free event. A suggested donation of £5 donation towards our sponsor fund to enable those on limited incomes to access courses is kindly requested.

COMEDY CLUB TONIGHT!
As well as Roger Monkhouse we have Karen Bayley & Leroy Brito
... Karen Bayley

The Alexander Technique - Half-Day Workshop For thoes who want to explore the technique further Saturday 11th August
1:30pm - 4:00pm
... The Alexander Technique works on the premise that there is a relationship between the head, neck, and back that FM Alexander called the Primary Control, which as children we use automatically but that with time and poor habits becomes compromised.
"I feel calmer, lighter and taller! My disturbed sleep is much improved. AT has been transformative as it has given me an understanding of how I hold tensions in my body and it's given me the tools to be able to 'let go'."
"AT has helped me to stop and think about the way I move and use my body and it has improved my overall sense of well being."
The Alexander technique gives us choice when there was only automatic response.
It helps us recognise our automatic poor habits and heightens our conscious awareness of ourselves and surroundings so that we CAN choose how we move and respond.
Learning the technique helps us
* Relieve pain and stress
* Improve posture
* Breathe with greater ease
* Find more freedom of movement in everyday activities
Deborah Cranston MSTAT CNHC has been teaching the Alexander Technique for nearly twenty years.
Using subtle hand contact, Deborah conveys to her pupils new ways of moving in activity.
Through repeated actions such as sitting, standing and walking, pupils become aware of their unhelpful habits and learn to override them using a new lighter approach.
Comfortable clothing is worn throughout lessons.
£20.00 for the afternoon session

FILM Incredibles 2 2:30pm
Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in “Incredibles 2” – but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transistion for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again—which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.
