The Pen Mill is a uniquely named hotel not only in the UK but also the world. Built in the mid 1800's this, we are now being told was built for the new railway station just next door the Pen Mill Train Station.

Today it is decorated to a more modern theme yet, still keeping a traditional atmosphere with newly refurbished rooms (February 2014), we spent almost £200, 000 bringing them to at least a Four Star level, many people tell us they are a Five! We'll let you decide.

Our dining room and bar are equally decorated (January 2014) and is also kept to the highest standards!

Quality comes as standard!

Yours faithfully

We're Doing Our Bit!
Since April 2018 we have used almost 25,000 straws, however since April 2018 we have only used bio-degradable straws made from crushed sea shells, we recycle over 1100 litres of cardboard a WEEK and over 750 litres of glass bottles a WEEK. We're certainly trying to do our bit.

Went for a carvery on way back to london 13/5/18...we chose here as had vegan carvery option... it was very nice... the chef/ lady who was serving was very friendly and explained in detail which items were vegan . My parents enjoyed the meat version. Very attentive staff ..dog friendly and well spaced out seating. Maybe just a dairy free desert option would be a great addition to the menu..like a sorbet ;) we will be back soon!! :)

User

Well I have been for the carvery on a number of occasions on a Sunday, and I would describe the experience as memorable.

Staff friendly polite and helpful. I would have no hesitation to recommend this restaurant to anyone, great place to dine and

catch up with friends and family. Please phone to reserve a table to avoid disappointment, we will be making another personal

appearance this Sunday.

As a matter of common courtesy please put your hand in your pocket and leave a decent tip for the staff, after digesting

your meal it's time to show your appreciation. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗 💷💷

Yeh.... Don't try slipping out the door leaving nothing , that's NOT standard procedure.

We've stayed here a few times now usually as a half way stop to somewhere else. The rooms are amazingly clean and luxurious. Good quality linen. The bathrooms are so wonderfully appointed could stay in a bath here for hours!! The resteraunt food is always good. The breakfast is plentiful, well cooked and uses local ingredients. The staff deserve a special mention. They are polite friendly and cannot do enough for you. Always a pleasure to stay.

User

Was let down last minute and booked Pen Mill. Superb Service and Food. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will always recommend to anyone so glad I was let down by The Manor!

User

The staff were very friendly from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Food was very tasty and piping hot. Good value for money. We had the special lunch menu for £10.94, a main course and a pud, lots of choices but smaller portions, plenty for us though. Definitely be going back when I visit my parents in Somerset next. 😊

User

Room six was very comfortable and the on suite bathroom was spotless. The bar staff were friendly and efficient, only had the free breakfast in the restaurant but once again no complaints, would definitely stay here again

We stayed here last night 22/12/2017 as we had a works Christmas do on my birthday.

Room (4) was good..and as a chef the Christmas meal and breakfast was far better than some London hotels we have stayed in obviously using quality products....However what really impressed us were the staff..the breakfast waitress deserves a special mention hope she gets this feedback..Have lived here for years and never eaten or stayed here would recomend you give this place a try..

User

I popped in for a quick pint (and pork pie) today and l really enjoyed it.

User

Lovely place and staff just delightful.... I have eaten a few times now, and food not great.. had cottage pie, full of cheesey mash and not much mince... My friend, had burger was delicious... Will certainly try again, as lovely place

User

Lovely atmosphere but unfortunately the food wasn't up to scratch. We had Camembert and nacho sharers to start which were lovely, but my main which was gammon was extremely over done and difficult to eat. A friend then had her dessert split over her by accident but sadly didn't even get an apology. I would happily have a drink here again but I wouldn't choose to eat here again sadly.
