Fun-filled Days and Star-gazing Nights at Penhein
So you've booked your glamping holiday. But how are you going to fill your days? We're so much more than the sum of our six boutique tents.
There are activities for every age group at Penhein - the new Adventure Playground safely nestled close to the glampsite for little ones. Den-building, rope swings and paddling in the streams, or how about booking ages 6+ into a morning of Bushcraft, where they'll learn survival skills fo...r life in the wild?
For older children and adults there's Clay Pidgeon Shooting, Mud Runs, Bootcamp and Foraging. Take on the almighty Treasure Hunt or race up Grey Hill. Chill out with a blissfully relaxing massage or treatment from one of our expert on-site therapists.

We recently put together our Top 10 Glamping tips and today we're sharing Top Tip Number 2 - it's all about eating well.
It’s a good idea to get organized before you arrive at Penhein; make a meal plan for your stay and do an online shop ahead of time – most of the main supermarkets are close by and are used to delivering directly to us.
... This means you’ll have more time to focus on the fun part of the job – like barbequing over the outdoor fire pit or putting together a picnic hamper to take to our wild flower meadow.

Maybe it’s kicking off your shoes for a paddle in the stream or watching your children whizz about the Adventure Playground. Perhaps it’s the supper you rustled up from scratch and cooked over the firepit. Or maybe it’s an evening spent telli...ng stories and toasting marshmallows around the campfire.

What can we say, an incredible place. As our four year old said when we were leaving "It is magical living here, let's stay!" We could not agree with her more.



Beautifully furnished, outstanding setting and wonderful attention to detail. Everything has been thought of! There are loads of outdoor adventures to have right on your door step but make time to sit in the meadow, sip something cold whilst cooking on the fire and enjoying the views.





The only regret we had was not booking it for a week, so we will be back next year. Thanks again for everything. Laura, James and Esme

We spent the weekend here on a hen weekend. It was totally amazing accommodation was perfect and attention to detail was amazing. There wasn't a thing that wasn't thought of to make the stay more perfect. Treatments are available and I had corrective sports massage by the lovely Jo. This is a must for total relaxation would highly recommend this to anyone

We spent an absolutely perfect long weekend here for my daughters hen party. What a gorgeous place - the alachighs are fabulous and well equipped, so well equipped that we didn’t spot the torch til the last morning! The showers are spotless and I can’t thank James and his team enough for taking delivery of our massive online shop. We had the site to ourselves - what a joy that was - we made friends with the cheeky squirrel and I will remember the amazing views across the beautiful meadow forever.

We spent a really great weekend here half way through October ... a group of ladies all together to celebrate a birthday and hen do ... the site is perfectly placed with indvdual areas around each tent so they still feel private and there's a large communal tent near an outdoor seating and campfire area with barbecues where you will have great views over the Monmouthshire countryside and River Severn towards Bristol . The weather was kind and there was nothing wanting in terms of equipment or welcome from James and Helen ... our mixed age party pitched in to help with fires and logs and cooking for a large group which took some work but they all thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful tents the experience and the Estate which is beautiful ... as are the shower blocks which are an added luxury in the great muddy October outdoors ... we all had a fantastic weekend and would love to return in late Summer as the campfire area lends itself to long evening chats and bbqing for hours on a balmy evening ... it was also very cosy and atmospheric on a calm October night when we were stargazing around our glowing campfire toasting marshmallows making S'mores !! Thank you for a wonderful stay .

We had the best Easter weekend 'Glamping' in the beautiful countryside in Penhein, Monmouthshire. If your looking for a peaceful, adventurous and a real family friendly place look no further than Penhein Glaming!!



Our children loved every minute of it making dens, lighting fires and running wild!! In a world full of iPads, computers, phones etc... Penhein brought back the great outdoors lifestyle without all the technology that the new generation of children are "clued too".



The Yuit we stayed in exceeded all expectations we had. As this was our first time glamping we didn't know what to expect. It has everything you need from beds, kitchen, fire, toilet. The bed was more comfy than any 5* hotel l have stayed at.



I'd like to thank James and his wife for their hospitality. A really gem of South Wales!

We booked Penhein Glamping for a stag party - the team were very helpful and supportive in organising catering and transport for us.



The set up is fantastic; very comfortable, beautiful setting, helpful staff and lots of fun! Would recommended for family, couples or groups.

This place is amazing. They have catered for everything. The accommodation is brilliant and the location is fantastic. Didn’t want the weekend to end. Would highly recommend.

This is a wonderful place, we arrived as a 25-30 strong contingent for the whole weekend and we occupied the entire site. To be surrounded by such beautiful surrounding; all the best people that you know and in such comfortable accommodation is a very special thing indeed. One of the best experiences I have ever had and I can't wait to go back! You can really see that a lot of effort has gone in to the making of Penhein Glamping, the standards are very high!

There is something very special about Penhein Glamping. The beautifully decorated, spacious yet cosy tents are nestled in woodland, with the pathway opening up into a gorgeous meadow leading the eye down the valley and to the River Severn.



This is the "Great Outdoors" at its best - building dens, splashing in the stream, nature walks, toasting marshmallows - the kids just loved it! Helen and James are superb hosts, with great attention to detail and nothing is too much trouble.

If we didn't already have plans, we would book again for October half term. The weather was warm and sunny too!

Stunning location, beautiful pods(tents) I've no idea what they are called! with everything you could wish for supplied,,Had a lovely weekend away here with my sister and niece, visited Monmouth a lovely market town, but spent most of the weekend switching off from life and catching up on some rest and relaxation.

We loved cooking on the fire outside each night so much so that we cancelled our restaurant booking, being on site was a far better treat! The only problem we have now is that our 4 year old thinks it is normal to have a roll top bath each evening when camping ;-) Rain or Shine, 1 night or a week, I would totally recommend a stay here. James was waiting for us for when we all got there, he showed us round and made us all feel so welcome, in each tent there was a welcome pack, the biscuits were amazing and there was even a bottle of bubbly for the bride to be, which was such a lovely touch!

I have just come back from my first trip to Penhein glamp site which was also they’re opening weekend of 2018 and it was fantiastic! Such a beautiful place with lovely views. If you enjoy walking/hiking there are some lovely places to go and see. Our tent was prepared and ready for us when we arrived. James was already waiting for us and showed us to our tent and then talked us through everything we needed to know about the tent and place itself. He also talked us through how to use the woodburing stove which was so much help. The shower block and cheats kitchen were spotless along with the whole glamp site. Both James and Helen were such welcoming and lovely people! We couldn't have asked for a better glamping weekend and will definitely be back in the future!! Big thank you to James, Helen and everyone at the farm!!

The weather was kind and there was nothing wanting in terms of equipment or welcome from James and Helen ... our mixed age party pitched in to help with fires and logs and cooking for a large group which took some work but they all thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful tents the experience and the Estate which is beautiful ... as are the shower blocks which are an added luxury in the great muddy October outdoors ... we all had a fantastic weekend and would love to return in late Summer as the campfire area lends itself to long evening chats and bbqing for hours on a balmy evening ... it was also very cosy and atmospheric on a calm October night when we were stargazing around our glowing campfire toasting marshmallows making S'mores !! Thank you for a wonderful stay .

We had the best Easter weekend 'Glamping' in the beautiful countryside in Penhein, Monmouthshire. If your looking for a peaceful, adventurous and a real family friendly place look no further than Penhein Glaming!!



Our children loved every minute of it making dens, lighting fires and running wild!! In a world full of iPads, computers, phones etc... Penhein brought back the great outdoors lifestyle without all the technology that the new generation of children are "clued too".



The Yuit we stayed in exceeded all expectations we had. As this was our first time glamping we didn't know what to expect. It has everything you need from beds, kitchen, fire, toilet. The bed was more comfy than any 5* hotel l have stayed at.



I'd like to thank James and his wife for their hospitality. A really gem of South Wales!

We booked Penhein Glamping for a stag party - the team were very helpful and supportive in organising catering and transport for us.



The set up is fantastic; very comfortable, beautiful setting, helpful staff and lots of fun! Would recommended for family, couples or groups.

This place is amazing. They have catered for everything. The accommodation is brilliant and the location is fantastic. Didn’t want the weekend to end. Would highly recommend.

This is a wonderful place, we arrived as a 25-30 strong contingent for the whole weekend and we occupied the entire site. To be surrounded by such beautiful surrounding; all the best people that you know and in such comfortable accommodation is a very special thing indeed. One of the best experiences I have ever had and I can't wait to go back! You can really see that a lot of effort has gone in to the making of Penhein Glamping, the standards are very high!

There is something very special about Penhein Glamping. The beautifully decorated, spacious yet cosy tents are nestled in woodland, with the pathway opening up into a gorgeous meadow leading the eye down the valley and to the River Severn.



This is the "Great Outdoors" at its best - building dens, splashing in the stream, nature walks, toasting marshmallows - the kids just loved it! Helen and James are superb hosts, with great attention to detail and nothing is too much trouble.

If we didn't already have plans, we would book again for October half term. The weather was warm and sunny too!

Stunning location, beautiful pods(tents) I've no idea what they are called! with everything you could wish for supplied,,Had a lovely weekend away here with my sister and niece, visited Monmouth a lovely market town, but spent most of the weekend switching off from life and catching up on some rest and relaxation.

Really fantastic weekend getting away from it all in comfort and style. Theres nothing that James & Helen hadn't thought of to make the stay as enjoyable and luxuriously rustic as possible. Their own coffee and cordial are superb. Not to mention the jam.



Even with the wet and windy weather we had it was cosy and warm in the tent, baby Elsie loved the rolltop swimming pool in the shower block. Thank you all again

Penhein was an amazing experience! Thanks to Helen and James for working so hard to make the bonfire party a huge success. My daughter said 'it's the best night of my life'! The tents are gorgeous with cosy comfy beds (even at 3 degrees outside!), everything you need in the kitchen, brilliant rope and tyre swings my kids spent hours on. The shower block was spotless, warm and felt like a hotel! We will be back but you're already full for May half term! Thanks again x

My bridesmaids chose Penhein to host my hen do this weekend and it was most definitely the best weekend of my life! James was nothing short of amazing throughout and it was the perfect venue, beautiful glamping pods, gorgeous welcome hampers, the bath was a definite highlight and helped me with my hangover! Penhein is such a special place and I know many of us are already trying to think of excuses to return. Thank you so much for being so wonderful.

Just returned home after a lvly Monday to Friday with you. Throughly enjoyed and highly recommended. James and Helen can t do enough for you. The alachigh s are sooo cosy....and literally sleep beneath the stars.

Just got back from a 2 night stay. We had a wonderful time. Warm and friendly welcome, complementary bottle of wine for a special occasion which was a lovely touch! Lovely facilities... I could go on, everything was wonderful. Can’t wait to come back �

James - We had a super family time at your beautiful site! The setting was simply wonderful and the facilities are excellent. We loved cooking on the fire outside each night so much so that we cancelled our restaurant booking, being on site was a far better treat! The only problem we have now is that our 4 year old thinks it is normal to have a roll top bath each evening when camping ;-) Rain or Shine, 1 night or a week, I would totally recommend a stay here. I would recommend Penhein to everyone and anyone I meet, from the second we got there we had the most amazing time on my best friends Hen Do! James was waiting for us for when we all got there, he showed us round and made us all feel so welcome, in each tent there was a welcome pack, the biscuits were amazing and there was even a bottle of bubbly for the bride to be, which was such a lovely touch!

I have just come back from my first trip to Penhein glamp site which was also they’re opening weekend of 2018 and it was fantiastic! Such a beautiful place with lovely views. If you enjoy walking/hiking there are some lovely places to go and see. Our tent was prepared and ready for us when we arrived. James was already waiting for us and showed us to our tent and then talked us through everything we needed to know about the tent and place itself. He also talked us through how to use the woodburing stove which was so much help. The shower block and cheats kitchen were spotless along with the whole glamp site. Both James and Helen were such welcoming and lovely people! We couldn't have asked for a better glamping weekend and will definitely be back in the future!! Big thank you to James, Helen and everyone at the farm!!

Amazing place! Just back from our 2nd visit! The site feels almost magical, very beautiful and the accommodation is great; comfy beds with quality linen and everything you could possibly need for your holiday. We will be back soon!
