Would just like to thank you all for the New Years Eve party last night . Great atmosphere ,great music & food , nothing too much trouble, would totally recommend. Good luck for 2018 . With all your hard work I am sure you will have a great year.

Went today with the husband and 2 kids. Kids menu is amazing and catered for even my pickiest eater. We had a steak burger each with chips and real onion rings which were just lovely. There was coloring in for the kids to keep them entertained as well as looking out the windows to see what birds they could spot in the field. The guy behind the bar was lovely and gave the kids an Easter lolly at the end for putting their colouring pictures on the wall. All in all a lovely afternoon there.

Went to the Poachers Pocket at Whickham this afternoon for Sunday Lunch as a birthday treat. Two had the beef which they said was absolutely gorgeous and three of us had the chicken. Very generous portions with loads of veg and crispy yorkshires. Extra sauces and gravy provided without having to ask for them. Didn't have to wait very long for the food , then finished off with very tasty desserts. Prices very reasonable and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Will definitely go again!

Top class food, with top class staff and beautiful surroundings. Great to see Keith and Corrina doing well.

Popped in after a shopping trip, a very friendly welcome & food was delicious - another trip deffo in the future

Love the poachers rustic pub style and cosy also has the big conservatory for group booking and weddings have been in there with our big family plenty of room the food is great friendly staff always willing to help can’t ask for more

Had my 40th birthday meal at the Poacher's Pocket with my family and friends. We were made to feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Everyone commented on how lovely the carvery was and everyone really enjoyed their desserts. A big thank you to everyone at the Poachers for making it a night to remember.

Had a lovely meal tonight, staff were amazing, lovely atmosphere, definitely going back to try the carvery xx

Great food and extremely friendly staff. Had many meals her since taken over by Corrina and Keith. Recomend anyone to try here.

First time we’ve been since it’s been taken over. The food was exceptional, and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. We’ll defiantly be returning in the future.

Amazing people really good food and cheap drinks so family friendly highly recommend

It'd been a few years since I'd last been and was in the mood for one of their Yorkshire pudding wraps that have all of a sudden become famous a little further down south. They're huge and would always be served with chunky hand cut chips and gravy... Total carb fest! However, they were nowhere to be found on the new menu and the chips were the bland bought in generic frozen type. Their hickory pulled pork topped burger was easily the nicest I've ever had, but the charm that once was is no longer there to make me want to go back. Such a shame.

Buttermilk chicken very nice. Other meals passable. No bitter -in spite of advertising craft beers (‘as they don’t sell’ - you have to stock them if you advertise you do!

Defiantly wat it says on the menu crispy shredded potatoe, onion and black pudding has topped wif a free range egg . Was in fact a piece ov black pudding two hash browns and a over done egg .

Skip the ice rink today as its not ice its plastic with water being poured on it . Its unskateable as theres no ice. Nice thought bit it just hasnt worked feel that ive just wasted 27.00 to get wet feet . Go to the times sq one its cheaper and is actually an ice rink .

Just been today with my parent's. We used to love this pub so am so disappointed. We ordered a cup of tea which arrived with a dirty cup and despite not being particularly busy we waited 45 mins for the first of the meals to arrive (a bowl of soup) 15 mins later the other 2 meals had still not arrived. When we queried this we were told we were informed when ordering there would be a 20 min wait (we were not) but this still wouldn't account for the hour wait! The members of staff we spoke with were both quite abrupt and off hand. It's such a shame as like I said earlier we all used to love this pub. It used to have such a welcoming feel but sadly I doubt we will return as our last 2 visits have been so poor. I would now definitely not recommend a visit. PS whilst waiting to speak with someone about our order another customer returned his meals refusing to pay.
