This weekend we held the official opening of "Derek's Cow Barn." This barn has been opened in memory of our late chairman, Derek Mead. Derek's dream was to open a place where children and their families could learn about farming and the importance of British agriculture. Now in his memory, we have opened a barn dedicated to the young calves that he loved so dearly. As Derek's legacy lives on around us, we hope that all of our visitors can experience the joy that these new lives bring to the farm.

We had a really good day today! Excellent value for money! I still can’t get over the fact that everything is free. Came with my 4 kids 2 teenagers and 2 little ones and fun was had by us all we will definitely be back! Thank you to Joe who took his time talking to us about the calfs, very knowledgable, friendly and obviously takes a lot of pride in his job! The only down side was the receptionist was not very informative (took payment and placed the map and time sheet on the counter, saying ‘this is for you’ and turned away!) I agree with other comments about the animal feed, maybe sign or board advertising the food to buy at the reception so we don’t miss out or have to walk back to get some. (You might already have a sign but I didn’t see it)and the lack of choice of sandwiches in the restaurant - ham and cheese or tuna being the options.

I had a great day with my children, many memories made. Definitely under selling your selfs, I’ve paid a lot more for a day out and got a lot less!

Was so impressed today with the friendly staff, atmosphere, and the equipment on site

Visited with five kids in varying ages/abilities and there was something for everyone

All the amenities were incorporated in the price of admission which was super.

The miniature high ropes especially were very impressive and three of our little ones went on, whilst the braver, bigger two went up, up, up to the high ropes. Such a thoughtful idea to include the little ones with something that they normally have to wait years to attempt.

The water walkers were fab, as were the little pedalos giving the little ones the responsibility of controlling their own boats.

The train ride was a hit with the youngest two in our party (and no additional charge made it a hit with the mummies!)

The lovely and enthusiastic animal handler in the theatre was amazing and engaging to a packed auditorium full of little people. No easy feat.

The animals looked well cared for, in ample enclosures and very used to being adored by little ones.

A visit to the crafty cottage gave us a nice break from the sun and heat of the day and the children enjoyed painting pebbles to bring home.

Sadly, we couldn’t quite manage the full park today. The kids were very disappointed to miss out on the bumper boats, tractor ride and indoor play but were placated with treats from the wonderful farm shop (and promises to return soon).

Thank you to all the staff who all worked so hard to ensure the kids had a fab time x

User

Totally love this place its my daughters favourite place to go although I didn't handle the high wire very well (I left my tummy behind somewhere) I'm sure next time I will do better on it only thing I would say is the play barn needs staff at all time manning as it can get rough and overcrowding resulting in kids being bit rough on the death slides but other than that looking forward to coming back very soon

My car broke down on the very busy main road out side puxton Park today, I had to stand on the side of the road in the 32degree heat with my two toddlers while I tried to call for help. A lovely man called Gerry, who works at puxton park stopped to help us and called on his staff to help him push our car on to a safe area where we could wait for a recovery vehicle. Not long after he returned to check we were all ok, bringing the boys an ice lolly each and water.

I’m so grateful for your help and kindness you showed to my family. There are some lovely people out there. Thank you

User

Has a fab day out with my friend who lives nearby. There is soo much to do, and it was great to be able to let our kids (4 eight year olds! We both have twins!!) have a bit more freedom and go off on their own to explore. Soft play are is a great size and they all loved it. My girl especially loved the high ropes course, and the tractor ride was enjoyed by us all!!! We fed some of the animals, and had some lunch in He cage. I would defo recommended this as day out to friends who are visiting they area. 😍 x

User

Excellent the staff are very friendly and first aid is excellent my little girl fell on the trampolines and badly sprain her ankle but we all wasn't sure if it was broken or not and they were very friendly and very responsive it took them two minutes to get to us and put my little girl in a wheel chair to take her to first aid xx

By far the best value for money outdoor attraction in the local area. No hidden charges once inside. Very reasonable prices on most things (EG. home made ice cream at £2 for a generous tub - and it's one of the nicest ice-creams I've had) and each time I've been they've had a new feature added. I've seen a few complaints about either not much to do or the pricing at Puxton and, to be frank, those people must have a poor grasp on the realistic cost of running a business!

In fact, the only negative things I can say about Puxton are that sometimes the cafe seating area can be a bit grubby (it needed a really good mop when I was last there) but it must be difficult keeping it clean with so many customers wandering around what is, basically, a farm. And I also never understand why they'd use 'messy' materials to surround the play equipment, such as sand around the bouncy pillow or bark around the trampolines? It gets everywhere and must be even worse during damp weather? Any of the many proprietary play surfaces would be far superior. But they still deserve 5 stars, as all their nearest competitors aren't a patch on them for the overall offer :)

User

Brilliant day out. So much to do, and no hidden extra costs like at Bristol Zoo where the high ropes cost £10 per child, .. high ropes are included here! And the zorbing, and the pedalos etc etc... Excellent value for money. Animals are cute too... I did find the pet corner section a bit much for the animals... 50 kids all trying to stroke a rabbit!!

User

Absolutely fab day with the grandchildren. Loved all the animals and attractions, tractor, bubble, falconry, high ropes train, boats.... I could go on, all the staff were fab, particularly Joe the tractor driver, and the train driver, what a star, arrived a bit too late, but not too much trouble to give us a ride - fab day out for me and the grandchildren. Loved the whole vibe and freedom of the visit. Great food too at the restaurants and farm shop.

User

We had a lovely day despite the weather. On entering the receptionist did advise what was closed. I was a little disappointed as we had to find out ourselves what times things was on. Neither was we advised where to buy the farm food. All the staff seemed happy and friendly. The place was spotlessly clean which was lovely to see. Sunday dinner was really nice.fresh produce which is a bonus. Unsure why we was made to walk back through the shop and through the main do after our food. Lots to see and do if it is wet out.

User

The park itself was brilliant and great fun but the food was terrible my kids fishfinger was seriously over cooked and as for my jacket potatoes it was awful soon as open pack the cheese just didn’t smell right and tasted very weird thought maybe me soo got other two kids to try and they spat out went to take back and by god anyone think I was attacking the chef how defensive she got about me saying the cheese didn’t taste right but she did replace the jacket potatoe next time I sure will take a pack lunch

User

Really good value family day out. Great food and good prices in the restaurant using good local ingredients. Lots to fill up a day for my kids 11 and 6...Giant bouncy pillow, indoor play-barn, zip wires, crazy golf, train ride (lots more)...Fabulous owl encounters, kids loved it!

On the downside a few things a little broken and shabby (but not extensive or widespread). I would definitely recommend the place even if it cost slightly more.

User

It’s great for children, the animals are very placid and come up to the fence and the paths are flat - excellent for little feet that are learning to walk!

However we think they’re missing a HUGE opportunity for those with young kids. At 18months, my son wants to eat around 11am (if he’s not had a nap); was really surprised they don’t serve ANY food before midday!!

User

It was a nice place to walk around and a good atmosphere but I feel slightly aggrieved that I had to pay nearly £10 for my two year old to get in and then she can’t go on any rides because she’s too short. Most places charge by height or over 3s.

Having said that the soft play was good for toddlers and the coffee was reasonably priced and hot. Would go again but not until she’s older.

User

Great attraction fairly local to us so been a few times, but had an opportunity to use free passes available through a group my daughter attends, so came along today. Staff are friendly and a couple were really good with my daughter who was struggling to join in, the place is clean, and plenty to do for little ones. Animals are happy.

If you were there as a group of three women with your kids, one of you with bright red hair, one with bleach blonde hair and way too much root showing , the other a little bit plain, sitting in the soft play cafe ripping it out of my daughter, you get 1* and that's 1* for moron level. No one likes a grown adult who gets kicks out of putting down little kids. Shame on you being cows to an 8 year old child. Oh and she's autistic and was already having a hard time, so you made it much better. Thanks. Hope you treat your own children better than you treat other people's.

Will be back as we've been so many times.

We attended Puxtons 11th birthday on the 7th July, it was also my daughters 11th birthday that day too so we went to Puxton park for the day. Overall the facilities and what the Park has is great, however the staff and the way it was run let the place down.

We got there for opening time at 9am before it got too busy, my daughter had birthday badges on, not one person said happy birthday to her on the till or have a nice day, just wanted your money and get rid of you even though no one else was waiting.

We went to the bumper boats first but found it was closed, we asked a member of staff what time it opens to be told 10am! So we walked round to the high ropes and that was also closed so we asked another member of staff what time it opens to be told everything opens at 10am! Why they open the park at 9am when nothing is actually open I don’t know.

So we headed to the park and went back to the bumper boats at 10. Ten o’clock came and there was no one to be seen, eventually about 10 past ten 2 lads started casually walking over then stopped to talk to their mates for a while, they eventually got to us and told us they would be another 10 minutes to set up.

We finally went on the bumper boats which we did enjoy.

We then went to the high ropes and had to que for 45 minutes, they only let 15 people on the high ropes at a time and there is no time limit, so people could stay on for as long as they want (and did), great if you are up there, not great if you are waiting. The person that put my daughter in her harness again no happy birthday, you enjoying your day or anything like that, just said to her you need to take your badges off to go on.

Every member of staff we seen and spoke to were really not interested in people, most were quite abrupt with everyone, most of them definitely need to go on a customer service course.

As for Puxtons 11th birthday they advertised face painting, disco, stilt walkers, performers, mascots, cake for all children etc we never seen any of this all, there was was a guy playing some music outside and one guy on stilts.

The restaurant staff in the play area were the only ones that were doing a good job and were friendly.

Overall the facilities and what Puxton offers is really good but the staff and the way it was run totally let the place down, won’t be back in a hurry unfortunately.

Took my niece to visit Puxton Park with my mum today. My niece absolutely loved it and had the time of her life - she was very upset when it was time to come home!!

However, as adults, there were a few things that concerned/worried me and my mum. For example, there were areas that were not well maintained, such as the Crazy Golf - many of the available clubs were broken and there were parts of the course like the animal models that had been broken as well. We went to an Animal Encounter show in the afternoon and I was shocked to see that some of the staff were allowing the children to crowd the Rabbits and Guinea Pigs so much and handle them quite roughly at times. Fortunately the animals didn't seem too concerned but surely the point of something like this is to show animals how to treat these animals properly?? It also worries me that people have such easy access to the animals without supervision from staff - at one point I witnessed a parent picking up their child and lifting them over the barrier to touch the rabbits! There are plenty of signs requesting members of the public do not do this but they clearly don't do the job!

It would also be better if you could advertise that golf balls and animal feed are only available at reception at the start - perhaps ask customers when they're buying tickets if they'd like anything like that!

Saying that, I think considering how much my niece enjoyed it and how much there was to do, it's a good day out for the kids.

The membership system needs a massive review! When me and my wife turned up with our twin daughter's today we were informed our membership had expired. My wife has been asking every week (for about the last 4 weeks) when she has visited the park, when was the expiry due? And she was told not to worry as she would be told when the date was approaching. She went the day before it expired and nothing was said to her. We had no cards on us and 2 very upset girls who wanted to go in and play. The customer service was terrible. We love puxton but today was totally embarrassing. We were going to book the 2nd birthday party there but will look for alternative venue now . My wife has emailed but as far no reply.

Good value for a family of 4 with lots to see and do. But, it’s needs a tidy up, muddy, bark missing, rides broken. Had lunch in the farm shop restaurant, at 2.20 on a Saturday in April, it was clearly after the lunch time rush but all the tables were dirty with food all over them and on the floor And surroundings. No cutlery had to ask for them, food was ok for the price. more Staff to clear tables would set. Higher standard. Wasn’t overly impressed when then being served a watery slushy by young member of staff you the rope bridges who had filled it up with water then putting cup and hands in the machine to scoop it out. Then dead on 5pm in the children’s play area we tried to replace the said watery slushy to be refused as they were closed, even after saying it was only 5pm and looking at a full slushy machine. I know the staff want to go home, but how long does it take to serve that? Staff training and a little tlc would be a 5 star, as we did genuinely enjoy our day it just could be improved upon in customer service (food n drink). We will return though so we’ll done on the whole a good day out.
