A nice walk on Exmoor and saw my first Highland calf of the year with its mum.

Nice hair! An Exmoor pony on Winsford Hill, Exmoor National Park, this afternoon.

User

After a stormy morning on Exmoor, here are two soaking wet red deer hinds enjoying a short spell of sunshine.

User

A short walk on Exmoor this morning - we saw red deer, highland cattle and these two lovely Exmoor ponies. Book your break in Exmoor National Park in one of our lovely holiday cottages: www.riscombe.co.uk

On a sunny day, in an Exmoor pond the frogs are spawning like crazy!

User

One of Exmoor's treats at this time of year is Snowdrop Valley - it's looking good in this wonderful weather.

User

A lovely close encounter with a red deer calf on Exmoor this afternoon - the mum had moved to the top of the slope and this calf was slow to follow as it was fascinated by Bramble and me.

User

A few photos of red deer and Exmoor ponies in the snow last week. Book your break in Exmoor National Park now in one of our lovely cottages at www.riscombe.co.uk

A lovely close encounter with a herd of Exmoor ponies in the snow near Dunkery Beacon, Exmoor National Park.

User

High up on Exmoor this morning looking at the interesting snow drifts.

User

Several inches of snow in our part of Exmoor. Looking pretty, but a bit tricky getting around on the back lanes. Here are a few photos: looking up to Riscombe Farm from the River Exe at the bottom of one of our fields, the river bank and our sheep looking for more food!

User

A walk with Bramble this morning on snowy Exmoor in sunshine. Very enjoyable!

User

I (Brian) got up at 4.15am, scraped the ice off the car and and drove up to the moorland (only 5 minutes away) to watch the 'super blood wolf Moon', which is a special total eclipse of the Moon by the shadow of the Earth. A wonderful sight - but it took me a long time to warm up again!

User

Out and about on Exmoor's coast yesterday in the sunshine. Photos of an Exmoor pony overlooking Porlock Bay, a view at Porlock Weir and a close-up of a jackdaw!

User

Time Out has Exmoor as the number 1 UK destination for a break in 2019 ! You can book one of our beautiful holiday cottages at www.riscombe.co.uk - we hope to see you here!

User

A quick walk with Bramble on a grey day in fading light of late afternoon on Exmoor - but still had encounters with several groups of red deer.

User

A very happy New Year to everyone from Riscombe Farm Holiday Cottages! A lovely sunny day on Exmoor - here are a few photos of the picturesque village of Selworthy.

User

Brian, Leone & Bramble wish you all a very happy Christmas. We hope to see you many of you here at Riscombe Farm Holiday Cottages in Exmoor National Park in 2019!

User

Out and about on Exmoor with Bramble - a good winter's day for looking at the small scale mosses, lichen and funghi on branches and rocks - a fascinating micro-world!

User

We've stayed at riscombe farm twice now and will definitely be going back again both times we've had a lovely stay and been lucky enough to see a wide variety of the exmoor wild life. We will certainly recommend riscombe farm to our friends and family

User

We stayed at Riscombe farm for a week at the start of august in heather cottage. It was so lovely to spend time with the whole family, we took my parents, grandparents, dogs and my horse... Even my brother was able to visit for a few days (sadly he couldn't get time off work for the whole week). Exmoor is a stunning part of the country and am so pleased we have seen it :) Was a truly amazing week, lots of lovely rides to go on and so lovely to have my horse just outside the cottage :) Brian and Leone are lovely people and very helpful. I cannot recommend visiting Riscombe farm highly enough and will definitely be visiting again (even my non-horsey husband is very keen to book again next year!) cannot wait :)

User

User

So many happy memories from my stays at riscombe farm. Gorgeous central location on exmoor allows for a huge variety of rides. The hospitality is second to none, both at the farm and in the local village. The weather is variable but that is part of the fun of a UK holiday!

User

So glad I found this little Gem of Riscombe farm, quiet hideaway hidden away in a peaceful valley near Exford. Already looking at dates to return again at least one more time this year. An excellent base to explore Exmoor from, Spot the dog enjoyed staying as well as it cut down the amount of time he had to spend in the car and meant he had more time to chase Pheasants, run around and swim in the crystal clear waters of the local rivers. Marian and I will be telling our friends about this place.

User

Peaceful, relaxing, perfect place to explore Exmoor from either foot or hoof.

User

Our last day today have had a wonderful relaxing time with my family and my brothers in Heather Cottage they were next door in Fern cottage.

Really don't want to go home this place and views are amazing,Sian and Angela have been out every day on their ponies weather has been fantastic and it's great the local pubs allow your dogs in ,have seen lots of wild ponies and other animals.

The owners Leone & Brian are fantastic

Very welcoming and the free range duck eggs are just yummy even our Bulldog Roxy loved scrambled duck eggs for breakfast in the morning.Done some mountain biking with my brother to the Beacon .

The River X runs along the bottom of your garden and the rope swing across it was fun.

Lots to see and do so would highly recommend it to anyone my daughter is nearly 15 and loved it.

My boy Dylan enjoyed chopping up the logs in the log shed in the evenings ready for our log burner.

Will for sure be coming again love
