Went here 25 years after working there as a Saturday girl chefs hand and cook. Couldn't believe that Frank the head waiter was still there! As lovely and as joyful as ever and the toasted cinnamon buns are too. This is a fabulous place. Service is still lovely and it's quintissentially English. Go go go! Look forward to seeing you all again on my next trip home from United Arab Emirates!

We went there for a lunch and next day we return for breakfast. Service was good, food was good apart of my hot chocolate. They are charging more than 3 pounds for a small cup of hot chocolate which was too sweet nothing special not even cream offered.

We visited yesterday after a spa day & absolutely loved it!

We started with the Welsh rarebit special which was perfectly cheesy & full of flavour.

The lemon curd was delicious as was the dulce de leche, shame we were full really.

The service was super friendly, can't wait to go back.

We visited at 2:30pm on Saturday (New Years Eve). There are a few floors of seating so we were seated straight away on the top floor. The building is very quirky in its wonky small way. The staff were exceedingly polite and friendly :) Time wise we were there for a total of 50 minutes, and this was relaxed, just excellent service.

We both ordered the quick lunch of soup & a savoury Bath Bun. Our drinks were with us quickly and the food just as quick after. The smooth vegetable soup was delicious - and just the right amount as we also had the bottom half of a large bun to eat! I had the Welsh Rarebit Special - a toasted bun with gorgeous melted cheese on top as well as mushrooms and bacon. My other half had one with cream cheese and salmon - also nice.

You can even visit the museum & shop and take a Bath Bun home with you! I wish I had done this. I highly recommend eating here. Thank you.

We (my husband and I) went for a bun each. We both had the cinnamon butter bun and they were amazing. Service was excellent & all the staff were friendly. We were lucky as we didn't have to queue for more than ten minutes, but the queue was quite long when we came out. The museum and shop downstairs is worth a visit.

We (my husband and I) found out about it as we was camping near Bath and I looked in the visit bath website which told us a must do thing is to try a Sally Lunn bun so we did for lunch, there was a queue but worth the wait. I had the open club bun and my husband had the Welsh rarebit special with two hot chocolates and oh my goodness the hot chocolates was to die for, it was thick and rich and amazing to drink and the bun itself is so light and refreshing and the club was very refreshing and filling at the same time. We also went down to the museum which is in the basement and WOW! The museum was massive!! After having a look around we purchased a couple of buns to go and having one between us tonight for dinner and the other is a present for my parents.

Visited today with my husband. Lovely food. Very polite and courteous staff. Had savoury dishes and both were gorgeous. Will defo be trying a sweet dish next time. Absolutely fascinating place to visit. Quick look around the museum and took home some of the famous buns for our children.

Popped in for a cream tea yesterday during a visit to Bath. Enjoyed the visit to the tea room and the museum and shop in the basement of the original bake house and baker's utensils. I think it had been boarded up, and not rediscovered again until the 1930's. I found it all very interesting ! Well worth a look.

User

Lovely and historic! The food was really nice and when we go back to Bath, we’ll definitely visit again.

User

It's worth the hype and the wait! Experience a savory and a sweet bun. And the tea was quite nice too. Don't forget to check out the cute little museum/ gift shop downstairs. Just charming. Loved the buns!

User

Day trip to Bath and decided to experience the infamous bath buns. We went for a sweet and savoury bun and they were delicious. The lemon curd was amazing. The gentleman who welcomed customers offered excellent customer service together with tourist info; an asset to the business

A very traditional small and home feel restaurant. The bunn is ok, service is good. Highlight is the atmosphere!! U can really feel history of the bunn when u eat in. Must visit the bunn museum, where located beneath the restaurant, of where u can buy the bunn (takeaway and can last for few days) and favored butter ~ I can get my most beloved cinnamon butter here

A must-do dining experience with flexible menu range including the famous light Sally Lunn bun in various guises. Three floors are decorated for different eras and tiny museum in basement is interesting and informative. If you can't face the inevitable queue to eat in, buy a take-away bun from the museum (no queue). My 13yo daughter's favourite restaurant and my 80yo aunt loved it too, so good for all the family!

Wanted to try this place for years and never got around to it, although have pasted it several times and checked out the menu each time I've pasted. I've always fancied trying the bread pudding , so after a long weekend work shift and not feeling too well all week with no appetite all I wanted was some comfort food so hubby treated me to the bread pudding and have to say it's the best, hubby had the crumble which he said was nice but the custard was cold and lumpy so a little disappointing , but the very sweet waitress brought us out a whole new desert to try with no charge , so great customer service here, will definitely go back again , loved the building too its all old and wonky but full of atmosphere .

User

The menu is very good and the bread is marvelous. It takes a long queue for waiting in front of the house but we didn't have to wait for long time because of the good management. We came in 3 persons and the table is quite small. Inside the house has beautiful room but quite dark. Give them 4 stars for the place & management and 5 stars for their delicious menus, salt beef, Salmon, the opened club and apple cake. Love them all!

User

Our first trip to Bath, and had to visit Sally Lynn's.

We were not disappointed, very kind and courteous staff. Nothing was too much trouble, being kept informed of when a table would be available etc.

Service great,as was the "proper" cup of tea.....cup,saucer, teapot and tea strainer. We both had the lemon curd bun, perfect after a busy time sight seeing.

Definitely visit again.

User

Went there because it had to be done! Staff friendly; building quaint. Had the bunns which we enjoyed. The other food I saw looked very ordinary and uninspiring. Had quite a wait to get in but it's done now so don't have to do it again!

User

The food was amazing... After you waited 20 minutes to be seated, and then 50 minutes after our order was taken. We saw 3 tables come and go in the time we were sitting there starving. Worth the visit if you're happy to wait for it!

User

I visited yesterday late morning (22/09/2016) my son, his patner and I visited the museum which although small was very interesting and the lady in the shop very helpful and welcoming. We were shown to our table by a 'very helpful lady on the door and then for me all went wrong.

We waited far too long for our order to be taken, two other couples came in and were served their orders before ours even tho' we placed our orders before them. My son had to rush his food as our car parking time was running out

On plus side I did enjoy the food we ordered and if visiting Bath again would certainly visit Sally Lunn's Historic Eating House again. Lots to chose from menu just hope service would be better and done with a smile
