It's not long now until the The Stable's first ever Cider of the Year is announced!
We were honoured to find out back in May that our Sheppy's 200 Special Edition was shortlisted alongside some of the best ciders from across the Westcountry and the world! Voting has now closed but you can still enjoy a refreshing pint of Sheppy's 200 Special Edition in Stable bars up and down the country.
We'll let you know the results as soon as we find out... Fingers crossed!

We're delighted to announce that our Low Alcohol Classic Cider is now available in over 230 Tesco stores nationwide!
David Sheppy, our 6th generation Master of Cider, says "At just 0.5% ABV, this traditional, classic cider remains true to our cider-making heritage and methods, featuring the same award-winning base cider blends that make up our core range."
Pop in to your local Tesco and pick up a bottle for yourself!

Did you know? Wild yeast fermenting is an integral part of the Sheppy’s Cider crafting process – we allow the naturally occurring yeasts to work their magic before blending takes place.

It's #OrganicSeptember and we're proud to say that our Sheppy's Organic Cider is made with 100% Soil Association certified apples!

Visit the House of Cider farm shop and pick up a roasting joint for this weekend - it's perfect for pulled pork, especially when combined with a generous slug of Sheppy's cider. We ate here last night for my husband's birthday. We had a 4month old in tow and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Food was superb, service great, atmosphere fun (and loud enough to cover any baby cries if she had any). Could do with a few more wines on the list, but a great first visit....we'll be back.

Visited today for lunch with my other half who is an off the scale coeliac (), we rarely eat out due to this as getting “glutened” can involve days in pain and off work. We were SO impressed with the waitresses knowledge of coeliac disease and she made him feel extremely comfortable and not at all an inconvenience (which is common). She immediately said that the fryers were not separate so chips were out but she could replace with sauté potatoes. The food was all delicious and we were very well looked after. Sadly, we didn’t catch the waitresses name but would like to pass on our gratitude to her and the kitchen for a lovely relaxed lunch. Thank you.

Visited on Wednesday for coffee and cake (massive piece of gorgeous chocolate brownie) and loved it so much that we went back on Thursday for lunch. We weren’t disappointed, the chicken and bacon salad was delicious. We sat outside so ordered at the counter and all staff were friendly and efficient. Loved the friendly greeting from Hector too (resident Black Labrador).

User

User

Very relaxing afternoon at Sheppys. Went on the tour which was informative and entertaining. Our guide was lovely particularly when she invited my 4 year old into the tasting session and supplied her with some apple juice. Walking through the orchards was a pleasant break after a long drive.

User

They have done a fantastic job really was a lovely surprise well done all, missed seeing the black lab tho, don’t mind having to park around him, normally give him a bit of a fuss! Thanks for a delish lunch loved it all!

User

The best Sunday roast I have had ever! Celebrated our son-in-laws birthday with a table of 22 and the quality of the lunch was amazing, definitely 5 star, along with the service, was made very welcome, will definitely be coming back!

User

Really nice breakfast , nice staff and a nice walk around the duck pond , defiantly going back

User

I visited Sheppy's Cider yesterday with friends for the first time, we found the food excellent and the service was impeccable, it was nice to walk around the museum and see the animals in the background.

What was also nice to see was that the produce was all local or made on the premises, bought some home made faggots mmmm delicious will definitely return there.

User

I had the privilege to visit Sheppy’s farms. I was visiting from US and I have been drinking Ciders for years. Sheppy’s is the best cider ever! I also had a great lunch there also. Hope to visit again soon.

Cheers!

User

Had a lovely lunch.....staff were so polite!!! And the cider? Awesome, surprised by the cider with raspberry!!!! Great place!!

User

Had a few ciders in the bar area and will definitely be back here to eat very soon, as the building and layout is very welcoming.

Also spent a small fortune in the shop on some real treats to take home. The shop staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

User

Great night at the Bike Night. Great food and drink and also music. A well organised event. See you again soon #drinkupyercider

User

Didn’t eat as needed to get on the road back to Suffolk, but spent some time in the deli and shop. Really unusual and interesting layout, very knowledgeable, fun and enthusiastic staff.

User

A foodie heaven destination which is a breathe of fresh air for the Taunton area. The butcher is great and staff helpful and knowledgeable.

User

The food and location here are outstanding, the service not so much. Arrived for a pre-booked table at 12pm with two tiny children, having been seated immediately, we were not seen for 10 minutes. I asked if it was table service or counter to be told it was table service. The same server then went to the table adjacent (who had arrived five minutes after us) to take their order. The couple behind complained about how long the food was taking and the family who had been served before us, then waited 15 minutes later than us for their food. Seems out of place compared to many of the reviews so perhaps we were unlucky.

User

Again the food was lovely and the place is really good, service not so! Long waits and had to reorder as coffee didn't turn up, didn't leave tip because of this. Shame to let yourselves down guys.

User

Really disappointing evening at Sheppys AppleBay Restaurant last night. Having two young children, it's a rarity to be able to enjoy an evening out with my other half and Sheppys was our restaurant of choice last night. Having been a previous 5 star reviewer of Sheppys I knew it was going to be a good choice but unfortunately it was a disappointment from start to finish. We were seated wedged inbetween a string of other couples on the sofa area and music was non existent so let's just say conversation was at a minimum.

I'm not a vegetarian but I'm not a huge meat eater. I am normally thrilled by the vegetarian/vegan options on a menu and understanding that there isn't ever many options for me but the option that Sheppys are offering is laughable. The only vegetarian option is a Dahl (I thought was supposed to be a side dish but maybe I am wrong?) so I reluctantly chose this in the hope they would spruce it up to their usual standards. Priced at 14 quid I was expecting something special. What I was presented with was essentially a thick stodgy naan bread and a dip. The Dahl was so pureed and tasteless that I could have easily fed it to my baby daughter. In fact it was so pureed that I couldn't get my fork to pick any of it up. Using my naan bread I attempted to enjoy it but simply couldn't. Perhaps it would have been more of a meal with some added rice or even a papadam and chutney but no, just my naan and dip it was. My other half had a steak and chips (priced at 19 quid) and again there was no thrills to justify the price tag. He literally had steak and french fries. He said that it wasn't anything special. I have to say the staff were fantastic and very embarrassed I think. They are the only reason I gave it 2 stars and not 1. I'm not sure where you have gone wrong Sheppys but if you want to mix with the high end restaurants and charge high end prices you need to up your game on the food and atmosphere. Huge disappointment.

User

A lovely interior but as a vegan, there was only one dish on the menu I could eat and on that day, even that was not available. Even the soup was not suitable. I had to eat a portion of chips, whilst my family tucked into their meals. It was rather disappointing and did upset me. Please look at your menu and cater for everyone. Veganism is a growing choice amongst consumers and you will lose custom otherwise.
