Sideways Cottage is a beautiful cottage in the heart of Walsham-Le-Willows in Suffolk. It has been recently re-decorated and is furnished to a high standard with fully operational kitchen, dining table and chairs, comfortable lounge area (with log burner) and large double bedroom with double bed and bunk beds, as well as a good sized family bathroom.

The cottage is sited next door to the proprietors, Mary and Reg, who have lived in the village for more than 35 years. They have a beautiful, large garden which you are welcome to use during your stay.

Just two doors down is the local butcher shop and general stores selling high quality meat as well as newspapers, bread, milk, cheese and delicatessen products. Next door to the cottage is Wattisfield Wines, offering a wide selection of wines, tasting and advice.

There are 2 pubs in the village (one serves food) and in nearby villages take aways and larger shops are available.

A well maintained children's play area and skate park is just a 10 minute walk from the cottage. The village hall hosts a coffee morning once a week.

Set in the Suffolk countryside there is plenty to do in the area. If you are looking for walking, rambling and wildlife spotting there are numerous walks and reserves. Coastal resorts are around a one hour drive. Historic buildings, ruins and museums are in abundance. There are theme parks, zoos, farms and a huge choice of
activity days out for young families.

The local historic town of Bury St. Edmunds is a 20 minute drive and offers specialist shops and supermarkets as well as a whole host of tourist attractions. The local leisure centre and swimming pool is also in Bury.

Thetford forest is a short drive as is Newmarket, Thetford, Cambridge, Norwich and Ipswich all making excellent days out from this base.
