We are quite proud to say that there are several Spanish bikers who use us British at Sierra Alma Touring to get to know their own countryside better. This is Manuel Garcia "piling on the coals" up the trunk road alongside the Guadarrama on his brand new 1290 KTM. More of him and our stop for lunch at the hotel in the mountains coming soon

Despite Salamanca being in the south western corner of the plains, these tours are about mountains, high rolling hills & twisty river valleys. They're about wide curving highways and narrow country lanes. Plenty of diversity to suit your every mood! This is at 6000ft with a bit more to go.

The almost infinite horizons, ideal riding weather - 28º today dropping to 25º with the road chill - & the adrenalin pumping shock should you come across another vehicle on the same stretch of road!!

By courtesy of Phil Smith again. Down in the lowlands. A bit more traffic about but it is close to the city and during rush hour! Book with Sierra Alma for some carefree touring in the sun. Enjoy the ride...

Our business partner, Rob Jones who owns Fly & Ride, dropped in to see us. He will haul your bike to anywhere in Spain incl Salamanca - where Sierra Alma is! This is him, what he does & how he does it. He brings his own bike with him and we did a short tour together. Anyone making late plans - www.flyandride.co.uk

André from the South Downs toured with us for a week with some mates in early May and remarked that Sierra Alma's routes through the mountains of Salamanca made a ride in Los Picos seem like a Sunday afternoon jaunt up the M1. What praise!

User

Roscoff to Salamanca tour completed. 4 of us had a great ride. Sunshine 8 days, rain 2 hours! Dave left us at Úbeda to go to his house on the coast, Guy and Mike came on to finish in Salamanca. Guy's coming back for 3 more days in mid May. Lots of tours available this year so don't miss out - get your gear packed

Cafe Racers Madrid will soon be incorporated into our tour routes. In his workshop you'll be able to see some of his completed works which are made bespoke for people all over the world. He also rebuilds any bike from scratch to "brand new" for anyone for prices from 5000Euro OTR depending what you want. BMW & Honda are favourites!

The UK to Spain ferry ticket for June mentioned in a previous post will self distruct at 9am on 10th April. If you want it get your skates on! There may be others available for other months this year so if you want one let us know 60 days before you want to go. Mostly they are for ferries that are already full & booked when they were cheaper...😯🤔

Both bikes serviced and overhauled ready for this coming year's busy touring season. Been out for 2 quick test spins and all's in order. We're going to the mountains on Sunday to sample one of these beauties and in 3 weeks we begin the fun with the Roscoff, France to Salamanca, Spain run. If there's any late takers out there - get in touch quick

from first contact to end of ride, smooth relaxed great tour. You could waste a lot of time taking the wrong roads and stopping at average cafe's or you could relax enjoy the ride and follow Hugh to the best roads and eat and drink with the locals. Time is precious so let Sierra Alma take you on a tour and enjoy a stress free ride in the Spanish sunshine.

We have just returned from a few days riding in and around Salamanca with the utterly engaging Hugh Anderson

My wife and I hooked up with the tour for the four days they were based in Salamanca, we met up with the two other guys that were doing the big tour.

It became clear on the first days ride out that this was going to be fantastic. Hugh

is not only a brilliant and extremely knowledgeable guide, but is also a skilful rider and is very good at judging the pace of the other riders and making everyone feel comfortable while riding.

We had toyed with the idea of going solo, and relying on a satnav. How glad we are that we didn't take this option!

Hugh took us to places we would have never found, on roads we would have probably never ridden. On the stops we made during the day for coffee's and lunches, Hugh came up trumps again, with some spectacular local restaurants and cafe's, which again, a satnav would have been no good, also a satnav is useless at translating a menu, unlike Hugh, as the places we ate at were rural Spanish towns and villages where English is not always spoken.

All in all, highly recommended and thoroughly enjoyable.

Cant wait for the next time with Hugh. thanks again mate.

Spent 11 days with Hugh in Salamanca, the city itself was worth the journey. It was mid May and the weather was perfect. My biking buddy and I spent 6 days in France the year before and managed to get lost a few times! With Hugh there were no such problems or drama's. He speaks the language and knows the country. Whether you are journeying through the mountains or travelling on the virtually empty roads between destinations you won't be disappointed. He also knows some seriously good places to eat and he will probably introduce you to Manola in the restaurant below his flat. Have fun. Bill Jelf and Mike Foreman

Me and my pal are doing a European tour on our bikes. We arrived in Salamanca and unloaded our bikes and dumped our luggage into the hostel. After that task was done we of course headed straight for the closest bar, luckily it was two doors up from our hostel. There we tried to order some drinks and understandably the barman didn't speak much English. He told us to wait a moment and then he got out his phone and made a call, chatted away for a minute and then hung up phone and got back to serving other customers. We were left sat there wondering fit exactly was going on, within a coupe of minutes however we were greeted with a pat on the back and a lovely English gent introduced himself as Hugh. Hugh stayed close by and spoke fluent Spanish so was our acting translator for the night. Through conversation we found our Hugh had been living in Spain for a good few years, was a biker himself with a beautiful old BMW, and an equally beautiful Spanish senorita. We loved the city and were keen to explore another day before heading for Portugal - our next destination. Hugh informed us he ran a touring company and put up his guests in his stunning apartment if they were interested. With the great price offered by Hugh we gratefully accepted his offer and we gladly stayed at his humble abode. Spent another great day/night in Salamanca with Hugh showing us all the best spots catering to our interests. Also as previously mentioned he can speak amazing Spanish so we didn't need to bother with making small talk with the barmans etc! After another great night and the most comfortable sleep I've had since I left home we set off for Lisbon, Portugal. Being the kind gent Hugh is he offered to guide us to the Portuguese border, using his great local knowledge to take us on the most amazing roads, pointing our sights along the way. Unsurprisingly by this point he also took

Us to all the best break points for a smoke, food and coffee. We did a last fill up of petrol and we said our goodbyes and parted our on ways. The picture was taken just before we parted ways! I'm a big people person so All Hugh's knowledge of the area, experience of the city and the roads, great ability to speak Spanish would of meant nothing If I didn't like him however that couldn't of been further from the truth. The most important reason for me I would recommend Sierra Alma motorcycle tours with Hugh is because of what a genuine sound guy he is! If your ever in the area i couldn't recommend enough! 5 stars. Thank you again Hugh Anderson my new amigo!
