General information.
At Skydive Swansea we are committed to providing a safe environment using highly qualified instructors to allow you to experience the ultimate adrenaline rush over the Gower Peninsular.
There are many reasons why people choose to make a parachute jump. You may be fulfilling a lifetime dream, wishing to raise money for a charity or looking to surprise somebody with a gift that they will remember forever. Whatever your choice is, let us make the arrangements for you.
You do not need to be an Olympic athlete to become a skydiver but there are limitations as regards to your weight - tandems are 15 stone for men and 13 stone for ladies (both fully clothed).
Groundrush Tandems we can take men up to 16 stone (fully clothed).
EVERYONE has to fill out a "Student Tandem Declaration of Fitness" form (also known as the medical form).
Some people will require a doctor to sign and stamp this form.
Anyone aged 16 or 17 will require the signature of a parent or legal guardian on the BPA Membership Agreement (also known as the under 18 parental consent form).

A tandem skydive is the ideal first jump - you will experience the thrill of freefall and enjoy a high performance canopy ride whilst attached to a fully qualified instructor. On arrival you will be introduced to your tandem instructor who will take you through all the training required for you to do your skydive. This includes a talk about the equipment to be used, aircraft orientation as well as covering what you can expect in freefall and finally the position you need to adopt for landing. The training takes about 30 minutes and your instructor will be pleased to answer any questions that you may have.
For your jump we will provide you with a jumpsuit, gloves, goggles and headgear. Next you will be fitted into the dual harness.
You will be jumping from up to 12, 000 feet. It takes around 15 minutes for the aircraft to reach altitude so you will have time to relax and enjoy the spectacular views.
Once at altitude, you are ready to go! You will be freefalling at 120mph for about 45 seconds. Your instructor will deploy the parachute by 5, 000 feet. The parachute has dual controls so you can aid the instructor by spiralling the parachute around the sky.
Your instructor will take control of the parachute for the landing. All in all it is an experience guaranteed to take your breath away!
To commemorate your skydive you will be presented with a certificate at the end of the jump.
The cost for the tandem skydive, including the instructor payment and third party insurance, is £230 per person. A deposit of £40 is required at the time of booking.

"As the only skydiving facility in Wales, our primary aim at Skydive Swansea is to promote and help Welsh and national charities raise funds through tandem skydiving by offering a direct service. By dealing with the parachute centre direct, additional fees will not be unsuspectingly paid to agencies and middlemen for making a booking on your behalf. Our pledge is that every penny above the cost of the tandem skydive goes to your chosen charity. Through your efforts at fundraising you will have the option to experience the thrill of skydiving and help raise much needed funds for charity. "
Jump for charity - How it works. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
You are required to raise a minimum of £320 in sponsorship. The cost of your skydive is paid out of your sponsorship money and the rest goes to the charity that you have chosen. So by raising the minimum of £320, £220 pays for your skydive and £100 goes to the charity. The payment for your jump includes the instructor payment and third party insurance.
If you raise more than the minimum amount, the costs of the skydive remain the same, and the charity gets more money. We will provide you with sponsorship forms when we have received your deposit. If you wish to pay for the skydive yourself then we ask that you raise a minimum of £100 for the charity of your choice.
Please note that on the day of your jump you are required to pay for the balance of your skydive with cash or postal order. If you have used Just Giving to raise all of your sponsorship online then you will not be able to do this. Therefore we suggest that some sponsorship money is raised using the sponsor forms provided in order to be able to jump for free.
All that is required to book your skydive is a deposit of £40. This can be paid by cheque or postal order made payable to "Skydive Swansea Ltd". Please note that the cost of the camera flyer (DVD and freefall photos) cannot be paid for from your sponsorship money.
Ground Rush - an adrenaline rush from 7, 000 feet!
Experience a different type of tandem where you exit from a lower altitude of 7, 000 feet instead of our usual 12, 000 feet. A popular choice for on a budget for those wishing to try before embarking on the higher tandem. We can also take men up to 16 stone on this tandem.
Training is to the same high standard as our regular tandem skydives. On arrival at the parachute centre your tandem instructor will take you through all you need know to make the jump safely. This will include the equipment to be used, aircraft orientation as well as covering what you can expect in freefall and finally the position you need to adopt for landing. This briefing and training generally takes 30 minutes and the instructor will be pleased to answer any questions you may have.
For your skydive you will be provided with a jump suit, gloves, goggles and headgear. Next you will be fitted into your harness by your instructor. Once inside the aircraft you will be attached to your instructor. You will still experience that huge rush of adrenaline as you see the door open at 7, 000 feet and you move towards the edge of the aircraft. Momentarily suspended outside before you exit. Your instructor will deploy the parachute within seconds and by about 5, 000 feet you'll be under a Ram Air Tandem Parachute spiraling through the sky. The parachute has dual controls and you can aid the instructor in steering the parachute to make the most of the stunning views over the Gower peninsula. Your instructor will take complete control of the landing after about 5 minutes, guaranteed to take your breath away! To commemorate your skydive experience you'll also be presented with a certificate of achievement.

Gift Vouchers - the gift of a lifetime!
If you would like to give a truly original and unforgettable gift then a tandem skydive is the ideal solution. Gift Vouchers are available for our Tandem Skydive from 12, 000 feet and our Ground Rush Tandem from 7, 000 feet.
While a large number of gift vouchers are purchased for birthday and Christmas presents, we are asked to provide gift vouchers for all manner of occasions from wedding gifts, stag or hen parties, to graduation, anniversary presents or proposing to your loved one!
We need some additional details for the gift booking and there are one or two areas you may wish to give some thought to. We will ask you for your name and address, the name of the person you will be making the gift to and their personal details so that we can ensure that they are suitable to make a parachute jump in terms of their of age and weight. If you do not know the details we need then you will have to come up with an ingenious plan to find out the required information without spoiling the surprise!

what a time to be alive!! today I did my first skydive and OMG did swansea skydive make it a day ill never forget! Id like to give a massive thanks to G!!! had my first tandem skydive today. from the minute i arrived the staff were amazing!! grayson was my instructor and he was brilliant! he made me feel safe and comfortable talking to me all the time and making the experience unforgettable!! i will be back!
What an amazing experience. Most insane thing I’ve ever done. Free falling at 100 miles an hour was breathtaking!! All the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly and made the experience such an unforgettable one. My instructor Grayson Summer was brilliant. I would definitely recommend that if your thinking about doing a skydive do it with these guys. I cannot wait to do it it again. AMAZING way to spend my birthday. What an amazing experience, it was my first tandem skydive and all in memory of my uncle and to raise money for a charity therefore the majority of my family took over the centre to watch me.
The staff were brilliant and didn’t mind my son, niece, nephew and cousins excitedly jumping about.
I had Grayson as my instructor and while practicing the jump positions he allowed my family to come in and take pictures. Everybody was so friendly and it was just a great experience for us all.
Grayson kept me calm and reassured at all times,he was hilarious but at the same time extremely informative and if your booked with him then your in for a treat with his very informative stories in the plane on the way up �.
Thank you Skydive Swansea for an amazing day, it was surreal and one none of us will forget.
What a fantastic setup. Everything about Skydive Swansea is excellent. All the staff are polite, professional and positive. Doing a tandem jump with Skydive Swansea is the best thing I’ve done in a very long time and the views are breathtaking as was the free fall !! I will be coming back. �

My most precious possession jumped last Sunday- my daughter Hannah Slee. Although we had a bit of banter I had every confidence in Ricky who jumped with her. They were great when we realised we could have it filmed and accommodated us at really short notice. I am so impressed I am going to diet � and want that as my 60th birthday present! Literally the best experience ever! Many thanks to everyone at skydive Swansea especially Reg and Ricky for giving me the best time on my first two skydives. Although there was a little error during the booking with regards to the filming of my skydive, it was quickly rectified by allowing me to go again. I can’t wait to go again!! I would definitely recommend anyone thinking about it to give it a go at skydive Swansea! Massive thanks again to everyone!!

Both Ricky and Grayson keep us calm in the plane chatting and having a laugh explained everything again just before we jumped
And Ricky even said I made his life easy when we landed it's not alot to learn to jump but it's very important to take it in to do the right thing for h&s it was nice to know I did it right x

I used to jump back in the day when Kipper and Frank owned and ran the club. Our pilot was ‘Crash’. Sadly I witnessed the loss of the entire club, including my boyfriend, bar one in the horrific Mannheim Air Show disaster in 1982. Glad to see the Club still going ! Take care guys �

Did my first tandem skydive with the crazy Joby who is a first class instructor and made the experience fun and the banter certainly helped with my massive fear of heights!!! For my husbands 50th birthday I brought him a skydive with camera man. He absolutely loved it and wants to go again (apparently I have to do it too next time) We received the film today it was worth every penny!!!!! A fantastic memory which we can all enjoy watching.

First jump yesterday and still buzzing! A birthday present for my sons 18th and my 46th birthdays and what presents they were! Loved loved loved it! Amazing experience! Grayson and Ricky you were legends. Put us totally at ease and made the whole experience one to remember forever! Can't wait to do it again. This could become an expensive hobby! � �
Done my first tandem jump yesterday and absolutely loved every second of it.All briefings were informative and built confidence in what was going to happen. All the staff were second to none and it is a really well run centre.
My instructor Joby Rudd was first class and I felt safe from start to finish.
I cannot recommend skydive Swansea enough, one hell of an experience and even though it was my first I know it will not be my last!

Brought a skydive at Swansea for my sister in law for her 30th. Birthday also got her filmed on her dive she loved it, few delays due to weather and had to swap as my sister in law was poorly but staff were fantastic and the hassle they get when they have to cancel a dive is unbelievable my sister in law loved every minute her footage is amazing. :) best present weve brought anyone :)
