Skylark Fishing Trips Description
3 to 10 hour boat fishing trips Scarborough.
About the boat:
Skylark is a spacious 35ft Vessel, Powered by a 6 cylinder Diesel engine. which cruises comfortably at 8 Knots. made from wood, she is of sturdy design able to cope with all weather conditions.
Skylark Has a code of Practice for 12 anglers and 2 crew and can travel 20 miles from Scarborough.
Skylark is equipped with a Many chart Plotters one on a 19 inch screen, GPS, Sonar, (Giving pin-point accuracy when locating wrecks or prominent fish holding features) DSC radio with AIS, Radar, and full safety equipment.
Skylark is also fitted with plenty of seating.
The ground we Fish
Renowned worldwide for it's quality sea fishing heritage, Scarborough on the beautiful Yorkshire coast is the ideal port to charter a boat for an angling trip.
Lucky for Scarborough there is many places to fish, most of these places we fish are Natural scars of rock, kelp beads, And generally really rough ground ideal for Cod and Pollock Fishing. there are many marks we fish some are only a few minutes away from the harbour and others can span up to filey brigg or ravenscar again two very good cod grounds.
Also close to Scarborough are many old ship wrecks . These wrecks can produce good Cod, Ling, Pollock, and Many other fish.
unfortunately both these grounds are very tackle hungry so be prepared to lose a couple of leads and rigs.
We also fish sand banks and dumping grounds for the whiting and flat fish if customers are happy with doing this.
Free Hire of fishing Tackle
On skylark we have Free hire of our rods and reel, all our rods are 6-7ft and fitted with the Modern multiplier reels (not the traditional Scarborough reels and fixed spools but we do have a few on board for those people who prefer to use them).
We also provide Basic fishing this includes weights and rigs.

A good amount of codling about again with a few dogfish and a small lobsters today.
Best baits seam to be squid tipped with worm or mussel.

Like yesterday a good amount of fish caught. within the first few hours the lads put alot of fish back which wasnt deeply hooked as they were happy with what they allready had to take home.
Again nothing massive but a good few fish around the 5lb area caught.

Some live action only been out an hour and plenty coming aboard. With loads of small codling and dogfish been returned allready.
So far a nice settled day but we have high winds forcast this afternoon so all we can do is see how we get on.
We will post a full catch report this evening

Conditions were not great with some strong winds but it was just fishable tooked under the cliffs.
Had a few fish around 4 to 5lb but most were codlings which were legal size but the anglers prefered to return them as well as the most dogfish ive ever seen on a trip over 25 caught in todays trip.
... Water clarity looks perfect for uptiding now so hopefully see a better of stamp of fish showing soon if weather allows.
