Ready for the bank holiday weekend!

User

Well, the 2018 season is well under way now and we have recovered from the incredibly wet Easter holidays..! The grass is looking lush and green and we are anticipating a busy bank holiday weekend. A note to visitors planning to come this weekend (5 and 6 May), all our electric hook ups have already been booked, apologies folks. For those visiting the Vale during May, check out our latest blog entry, which includes ideas of things to do! http://www.sparkhayes.co.uk/news

Latest news - passing lorry tries to take railings with Sparkhayes campsite sign attached, traffic chaos ensues. Sparkhayes able to offer parking for stuck motorists and directions via nearby pub.

User

Dear Porlock, start of the school holidays!

User

Well look at this....

User

nice campsite very clean and good facilities. decent sea veiw from camping ground. well worth a second visit

User

The only campsite I've returned to again and again. Porlock is a wonderful place to visit and this is the best place to stay. An unquestionable five stars.

User

Such a lovely relaxing campsite, perfect to switch off and unwind. Facilities are more than adequate and always cleAn. The little microwave is an added bonus when you’ve been out for the day and don’t have the time to get the bbq going. The local village that the site is in is also great- local shops, convenience stores, tea room and local pub.

We loved our holiday at sparkhayes and will hopefully return.

Stayed here a few times, absolutely love it. Going back in August. Highly recommended.

User

One of our favourite sites to stay at. Would recommend this site to anyone

User

Never been to the campsite but met Phil in his 'club house' (The Royal Oak in Porlock) Hilarious evening! Phil you're a legend! Loved your choice of jukebox tunes!!! X

User

Love the simplicity of the site, the good will and warmth of the people - and of course the wonderful Exmoor countryside - still my most favourite place to escape to.

User

Just back from fab weekend great site, top bloke Phil who owns it,brill location in village x

User

It's a camp site. All you would expect. Nothing special. I had a great time.

User

Great site clean and tidy, close to town and lovely walks.

User

Fantastic place. Everything you could need. Perfect setting and magnificent host. Thanks.

User

Been coming here with my family over the past 16 years and we love it. Beautiful place, very relaxed, stunning views and walks. Would highly recommend.

User

Been camping here for years, before kids, with kids, with mates, and on my own. Old school basic campsite, turn up and pitch where you want, and very reasonable too. Lovely views all round and only 2 minutes walk to a number of pubs with good food and beer. I'll always keep coming back here.

User

Basically our favourite campsite, we try to visit each year and miss it if we can't :)

User

After a long Easter break we finally have to pack up and go home today but coming back soon

User

just had our first weekend away and had a great time the location is just right for local shops and a small walk down to the beach.its a small site with a small shower bloke and wc,s the great thing is its small and there are no pitches so you can park in a square if you have campers.I find it hard to rate as theres not much there but that's what I whant out of a site.

User

Very friendly and great for dogs very relaxing site.

Only problem is not enough water points

User

First camping holiday for over 30 yrs and picked an excellent site, all necesaary requirements provided, Free hot showers, Laundry and fridge ,freezers hire available

User

A very relaxed campsite in a great spot. A little rough round the edges but much prefer this to very regimented sites.

Shower cubicals are really small with no dressing area which meant most people simply walked back to their tents / vans in their towels - I would bring a robe on my next visit! There are only 2 showers for the whole site which could mean a queue at peak holiday times.

When I arrived I was a little unsure where to pitch as had booked an electric point and there were some 'reserved' markers but didn't know if that was for me. Found a space anyway so wasn't an issue but might have been if the site was full.

Plenty of hot water and handy use of microwave plus communal fridge and freezer in washing up area. Pity that the local fish and chip shop was closed but we ordered delivery pizza from Minehead which was very much enjoyed by us and the dog!

No WIFI but good EE signal, ThreeMobile however was very patch, TV signal was strong. Good recycling options which I feel is very important nowadays.

Price for two adults and a dog with electric was on the higher side of average for a site with more basic facilities but only by a few quid.

We will be back again I am sure.
