**US DRUG PRICES ARE SOARING IN 2019** As a UK pharmacist in the community, working daily on the frontline and based on what I routinely encounter, this is very concerning. Imagine an insurance based healthcare system replacing the NHS. With rising corporate greed and costlier medications, premiums would continue to rise with the neediest paying the most. The people who make these policies almost certainly have private healthcare insurance and don't experience the frustration..., difficulty and despair encountered by the elderly and most vulnerable trying to navigate a fractured and failing healthcare system. It appears we are waiting for a miracle but stormclouds on the political and economic horizons promise worse weather ahead.
Corporate greed is a certainty in this world and I've never seen any of my premiums, for anything ever come down. The NHS is a blessing and it's deliberately underfunded and falling apart. Drug shortages are common and drugs becoming difficult to source already. NICE is forced to justify the case for cheaper generics whilst the better, newer drugs remain off-limits due to price. It appears you can have free healthcare or good healthcare but not both. As we court disaster with US vultures circling the floundering NHS, it is clear that we are witnessing the last days of free and equitable healthcare for all. #loveNHS
