Team TSD Swansea is the section of Trinity Saint David Students’ Union- Swansea that coordinates and develops sport within the University of Wales Trinity Saint David Swansea Campus.

This page has been created to keep you up to date with all the need to know information surrounding sport at the TSD Swansea. For example sports news, fixtures, results, photos, videos and events happening at TSD Swansea.

Here at the Team TSD Swansea we currently have 8 competitive sports teams that anyone is welcome to join. We also have sporting societies set up so there are plenty of opportunities for you.

Before attending trials or playing for any of our Team TSD Swansea teams you must own a Team TSD Swansea card. This year our card is so much more than just insurance cover during trials, training and matches, it also allows you free entry and a free drink every Wednesday at our very own Wednesday night in Oceana as well as other discounts on and off campus.

The majority of our teams compete in the official University Leagues and Competitions: BUCS (British University and College Sport). Our BUCS teams will gain points through competing in these leagues and competitions throughout the year.

Trinity Saint David Students’ Union Swansea believes that Sports Teams play a vital role in University life as they broaden the personal development of each and every student. The activities that our sports teams provide give the opportunity to all 6000 of our students to gain skills and experience in areas that would otherwise not be available to them.

Each year Team TSD Swansea and TSD Carmarthen & Lampeter lock horns in a series of sporting events to celebrate the sporting talent on both ends. Varsity is a fantastic time of year as both TSD Swansea and TSD Carmarthen & Lampeter students spend an action-packed day supporting and celebrating their respective sports teams. The event adds more than a little spice to our sporting calendar.

The intense but friendly rivalry between the Universities ensures that each match is contested with passion and has lots of support from the side lines.

During Varsity 2013 there were a record eight sports matches between Team TSD Swansea and TSD Carmarthen & Lampeter.

Team TSD Swansea for the fourth year in a row were crowned Varsity 2013 champions (although the day actually ended a draw) and presented the Varsity Trophy.

Win or Lose, Varsity really brings out what it means to be a part of a University community. This year brings, if possible, an even bigger rivalry between Team TSD Swansea and TSD Carmarthen & Lampeter due to the recent merger.

Finally Trinity Saint David Students’ Union Swansea and Team TSD Swansea hold an annual Sports Ball. This is the most prestigious sports event of the year and should NOT be missed! After all the hard work put in by each team through the year, they get the chance to let their hair down and party into the night. During the ceremony, awards are given to individuals and teams who deserve credit for their achievements throughout the year, including Colours Awards given to those individuals who have been dedicated to their club throughout their university life.
