8th March, International Women's Day, is the Grand Opening of our Extraordinary Local Women exhibition! This special display will shine light on some of the amazing women who have shaped Teignmouth and Shaldon, and will include women nominated by the local people. Come see it, and rest of our museum displays, for no more than our usual entrance fee - and remember your museum ticket then gets you in for the rest of the year to see all our upcoming exhibitions.

Exciting news! We'll be reopening for the season on 19th February. Haven't been to the museum in a while? Always meant to go, but never quite got round to it? Come see our fascinating displays of local history - and your ticket will get you in for the whole year, including all our upcoming exhibitions! Our spring opening times are 10:00 - 4:30, Tuesday - Saturday.

Our spring exhibition this year is 'Extraordinary Local Women', and we're asking for your nominations! Do you know a woman from Teignmouth and Shaldon's past or present (or future!) that's done something special for their local community? It doesn't matter how big or small, and long as it made an impact. Drop in to the museum between 11 and 3 and tell us their story, and they'll be part of the exhibit!
Can't make it? Don't worry! Just fill out this Google form with your nomination, or pick up a form from the Museum or Teignmouth Library: https://goo.gl/forms/ZfNkkQ5yqml9Jo5r1

Here's a bonus #ArchiveAdvent! Here's smugglers lane in 1825 - hopefully they're smuggling in the Christmas dinner!

For the final day of #ArchiveAdvent, here's the harbour in 1924. Merry Christmas Eve, everyone!

Yes Teignmouth Museum is extra special and so welcoming. I am fascinated by Labrador Bay and the connection between Canada and Devon that gave employment to local men fishing for cod and whales off Newfoundland hence reducing the number of active smugglers
