It is with great sadness that I share this post with you all. I am very sorry to say that Alan our amazing “front of house” “Meeter and greeter” and wonderful friend has passed away. It is a huge shock to us all and our thoughts are with his wife Wendy and Richard his son and his lovely family. Things just won’t be the same without him. He was doing what he does best on 24th November at the Cafe and he has been a great support to the business for a great many years. He did it all for love aswell. Thank you Alan you will be greatly missed by us all. Rest in Peace xxxxxx

Due to many factors we are facing at the south side recently including the lift closure, disabled access and now the falling of the chalets and also the weather that is forecast we have decided that the cafe will not be open this week. We will However be open this weekend where we have our grand Christmas draw taking place. There are still squares available with lots off fabulous prizes up for grabs. Please visit us this weekend for our last of the season. We hope to be reopening for weekends in January but will keep the page update!!x

I will make this post short and sweet, today we have been asked 3 times what date does the Clock Cafe get demolished. Over the last two weeks we have had numerous phone calls asking the same question and customers visiting us saying they had to come for one last time. I am not sure how this rumour has started but I just want to say that I have no knowledge from anyone that this is in the pipeline. The only demolition I have heard of is the chalets affected by the retaining wall failure. I hope this helps those who are concerned to stop worrying. Long live this beautiful cafe and we look forward to seeing you all soon. ❤️❤️❤️❤️xxxx

Due to weather and further work on the chalet slip, we have decided not to open today.. we hope to see you all tomorrow x

User

We are planning to open today so look for the flag...... please be aware due to the landslip behind the chalets the road is closed so access to Cafe is up the steps at front or down gardens from the top, but there is no disabled access. I am waiting to hear from SBC today what is happening so I will let you know as soon as I hear anything. We hope to see you soon xxxx

We really love the Clock Cafe the staff are friendly the food is good and reasonably priced ,and the view from the cafe is the best view of the South Bay

We had a meal there yesterday, absolutely gorgeous!.. Steak Pie and chips was yummy.. and the gammon with egg and chips was huge!.. Generous portions, good quality and a good price too. If you haven't tried their cakes then do it!.. Really need the recipe for the millionaires shortbread.. ahaha..

The best cafe with the best view in Scarborough. The tray bakes are all delicious as are the scones, cheese or fruit, and they even serve Rooibos/ Redbush tea !

Jayne & I were home in Scarborough yesterday.

Wr went along to where the land has slipped again and, yes, it’s a real shame that Mother Nature has decided to steal the lovely chalets.

I’m certain nobody wanted this but she’s a ******* and will, I’m sure, try for more in later years.

Whoever’s in charge though needs to do all in their power to protect the Clock Cafe to the best of their ability. This place is an iconic landmark of Scarborough, fantastically run by dedicated Scarborians which we all must protect.

I've been in scarborough for 4 years now I love looking out over the bay from this spot and it was the first time I spotted about 6 porpoises playing in the bay

User

First visit to the clock cafe, and it was a memorable moment, good food at a reasonable price, great cuppa tea...its dog friendly and to top it all a great view of Scarborough....will definitely be back there.

User

Exceptional view of the south bay. We were lucky to be able to sit out in the sun in October without jackets. Very reasonably priced breakfast (veggie too) and away from rabble of the arcades, overlooking the spa.

User

Beautiful views excellent location Scones butter and jam were beautiful and quite big lovely with a pot of tea 😀Went there on our last day Monday lovely walks on the beach we got some good pics 😊

User

Beautiful spot for a truly English scone and amazing view of the comings and goings of the Scarborough seaside! One of my favourite things on my recent holiday! Friendly staff and patrons who obviously love their Scarborough home. ❤️From a 🇨🇦Visitor. I'll be back !

User

Tasty breakfast, beautiful views lots of dogs too many for me, most of them on a lead but some inside cafe whilst we were eating and sniffing round our table. Bit dissappointing they are allowed inside.
