Went up tonight me and Gina. It's always so reliable for us. Fillet steak has never let us down. Friendly service every time, even under pressure. A number of experienced staff go above and beyond the call of duty. Fair play to Seán for the first class Baileys Coffees and Expresso Martini to finish aff our wee early Valentine's treat.

Was up on tuesday night for bite to eat, couldnt fault it, was really busy for a tuesday night, think there was only i think staff of 3 on as probs didnt expect it to be so busy but they coped brilliantly, food was really good as well, highly recommend

User

Was in for lunch yesterday and even though there was a large crowd, we were meeted and greeted as soon as we arrived, first class service all round and the carvery lunch was amazing,, keep up the good work folks .

Was here St Patricks day . We had a ball nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Our food was lovely and piping hot plus wen we asked for something that wasnt on the menu it was no trouble at all. Even when our night was over the staff were so kind tryin to get us a taxi which was impossible they took it apon themselves to leave us home. Couldnt highly recommend here enough will defo call again . Thanks too all the staff for making our day so good.......

Myself and husband and 6 kids booked Carvery Sunday lunch for 12.30 today. We were 5mins early and waited in the beautiful Foyer. 5 mins later one of the staff came and brought us into the dining area where our table was ready. We were served our soup first. After that we helped ourselves to salads, main course, desert and tea/coffee. Well what can i say. The food was unbelievable, huge variety to suit every taste and all beautifully presented. I had roast beef, mash, roasties, veg and gravy for main course and it was fabulous. Cooked to perfection. Come desert as i cannot eat chocolate I thought I would be limited but not a chance- there was trifle, apple crumble, custard, jelly and the most wonderful carrot cake I ever ate. We loved every mouthful of food. The staff were helpful and courteous at all times and the serving staff were friendly and helpful answering any questions we had. I could'nt recomment this Sunday Carvery highly enough. A wonderful dining experience in a beautiful setting. Thank you to all in the Fir Trees, we will be back.

Huge congratulations to Joanne Quinn Connolly and the staff for the excellent service last night

The meal was fantastic and the staff couldn't do enough for us

Johnny Kellys generosity brought all of the guests to their feet

Amazing generosity x

Bar food is amazing! The staff in the bar are so friendly and professional, the Bar Manager (gentleman) even remembered our drinks after visiting once! The waitresses are super friendly too! Food is first class also!

User

A great venue with a grest atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, especially Caroline and Pauline.

Going here for a number of years and celebrate with family here. The food is fantastic, not to mention the variety of dishes and value for money.

Very central for anyone in the Finn Valley area.

The nearest and best food for us from Raphoe.

Thank you, Edna & Paddy x

Took our youngest to see Santa. Have to say considering it was the last tour of the day it was pretty poorly organised. We and another family sat in the lobby while several elves went back and forward and fr and Mrs Claus took a tea break in the den. There where some other guests checking in and Fr Christmas made what I felt to be in inappropriate comment about them joining him in his room. Thankfully this went over the heads of the children...bless there innocence.

During the tour what was expected to be nice was that the children wrote their letter and listen to a story told by Mrs Claus...unfortunately this was drowned out by the noise being made by an ice cream machine. Not really sure why it was there in the first place nor the tea cups and cookies as neither where offered....but if it wasnt beeping then it was the fan that was deafening and distracting from the experience. Only one of the elves seemed to know what she was doing or even interacted with the children.

The rest of the tour was just ok. It was a bit of fun to see Santa snoozing in what was a nicely refurbished room but when it came to each child speaking to Santa again it was a bit unorganized with no one really being sure if what to do next.

The best thing about the visit was the photo even though we had to take our own as apparently your photographer had already left.

We booked to eat afterwards. Over all staff serving where despite being very busy, polite and curtious. One particular staff who seems to have been there on other occasions we have eaten there was very helpful... The food was served promptly and with the exception of a bit of grissel on the steak more than acceptable.

One comment from my husband would be that some attention needs to be given to the gents toilets which apparently is badly in need of an overhaul.

Although I will be back for an occasional meal I would not recommend the Santa experience to anyone. This was our final year and now I wish that I had booked somewhere else. I realise it wasn't the most expensive option out there however I don't think thats the point. All in all we spent the best part of £100 in the hotel. If a little more thought was made by those playing the key parts the experience could have been so much more memorable in a positive sense.

Been going for years and is OK I suppose. I have to say the food was spot on and the staff were great. The problem the fir trees has is a possible lack of investment, the facilities are old and worn there is a lot of papering over the cracks so to speak. A bit over TLC and it would be so bad at all. There isn't much around that side if town so maybe it's complacency rather than a lack of funding. Only time will tell.

User

When I say didn't like it.The food at dinner last night was lovely service very good and quick, staff are friendly But disappointed with bedrooms first one when we arrived was freezing and they moved us. Second one was still cold and took water ages for it to even get lukewarm and even longer for shower. Left card on door handle outside for Breakfast in Bed Treat no one took it so had to re-order when it arrived it was cold. So Don't think we will be back again anytime soon So very disappointed with the rooms .

User

Me and my family would eat here often and now on several occasions the service is bad they do try and are friendly but the disorganization is so evident, asking 2 and 3 times for a drink finishing your meal and still no drink asking for salt and vinegar and having to get it yourself waiting for ages to order, food was bland, the Cajun burger just tasting plan no spice at all just lots of little things that add up to not wanting to go back

Have eaten out here for years and never had a complaint but recently standards seem to be slipping so would eat elsewhere in future. Went for the Sunday carvery last Sunday having booked a table, we were seated immediately and staff were very friendly. As soon as we were seated had our drinks order taken and the carvery process explained. We were served soup after 5 minutes, it was lovely. But before I'd finished there was a waiter over trying to collect the bowls as if there was a shortage. As the 2 others I was eating with had finished she seen I was still eating but proceeded to collect the bowls whilst I was still trying to eat. When we'd finished we went for the cold starter but still hadn't received any drinks- a few other tables also hadn't that were in before us. We sat down with the cold starter and I asked a waiter where the drinks were and their response was sorry the bar is understaffed I'll check and see where they are. We finished the cold starter and were reluctant to go for the carvery not wanting to eat it without a drink alongside. We sat and waited for 10 minutes and asked another waiter about the drinks- again just told that bar was understaffed and shouldn't be too much longer. I explained we didn't want to finish the whole meal without a drink and she simply said sorry and walked away. We went for the carvery after another 10 minutes of waiting. When we'd sat down to the food our drinks FINALLY arrived. The manager who served them simply apologised and went on to tell us that someone from the bar was sent home sick and that they only had 2 people in the bar. Not meaning to sound cheeky but that really wasn't our concern we'd paid full price for a carvery and drinks service and it took until our 3rd course to have a drink (all were non alcoholic). Was very disappointed as anywhere else I've eaten and paid full price for you don't have to chase a jug of diluted through your meal.

User

Went here a couple of weeks ... first meal out since having baby. Really looking forward to it. Table booked for 7.30. Arrived and were seated straight away drinks order taken. Drinks arrived 5 minutes later and food was ordered. An hour and 10 minutes later a waitress asked had we still not received our order she would go and check. Came back to say that that the kitchen had lost the order. Did we want her to send it through again???!! Seriously??!! Not one person came near us for an hour and then to b told this with very little apology. Will never b back. Absolute disgrace.

User

Went for dinner last night and won't be back. Booked for 8pm and had our first bite of food at quarter to 10. The staff were in no way apologetic or friendly because they had too many bookings to handle at once and everything just seemed to be going wrong. We were very close to walking out.

User

Very dissapointed booked a table for 6.45, the table wasnt ready when we got ther, didnt get seated til 8, food wasnt great and the poor waitresses wer rushed off ther feet it was that busy, they shouldnt of booked us in with how busy ther were, keepin in mind we had 4 very restless children to try and entertain, wouldnt rush back!!!

User

Two weekends in a row I had meals here for different occasions, never again they are unorganised, unhelpful my food came 20 mins after everyone else and no apology was even given . Just a joke between the bar taking for ever to bring a drink to a table and food being changed and orders seemed like never going to arrive complete disaster.

The worst place I’ve ever been in my life.. waited an hour for the food at at dirty table and when food landed it was all wrong.. shit hole

On Sunday 10th June 14 of us went to the fir trees hotel strabane for a family meal .We had booked the restaurant and was seated quickly enough few of us had starters which were ok .The main course however was a complete disaster .All steaks that were ordered were either over cooked or under cooked .when the young waitress was asked as to how the steaks were cooked her reply to me was he didn't tell me ,when the peppered sauces arrived they were all cold the chicken dish which had been served on a bed of champ was completely cold and uneatable at this point I asked to speak to the restaurant manager .when he arrived I asked him was he the restaurant manager ,he hesitated to answer me I explained bout the steaks but they were not lifted from us after main course was over he landed with 2 bottles of sparkling wine as a way off an apology I told him to take them away as we were all driving. At this point I asked for the bill . I would not recommend this place for a kinder garden party never mind a family meal !!! Staff training badly needed in this establishment
