What an absolutely fantastic night at Hobbs Boat!! 12 of us went for my daughter's 18th birthday and cannot compliment the staff highly enough!! They went above and beyond to make our night as special as possible, fantastic staff, delicious food ( at a reasonable price) with a warm friendly atmosphere! Would 100% recommend and will definitely be returning!! A huge thank you to everyone there!

We visited Hobbs Boat last night with our 7 year old daughter and were extremely impressed with the food and service. Our waitress Tracey was fantastic. The food was delicious and served quickly. We will definitely visit again when we’re next in the area.

We attended Hobbs Boat today at Lunch time, we found the establishment to be clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and happy to help. We were introduced to our server who was more than helpful. The variety of food on offer was different and catered for varying tastes, the specials menu had some lovely food on offer. We has a starter each the presentation of the food was lovely, my partner had the cheese and apple tartlet which to be honest was to die for a really great combination of the flavours. We then moved onto the main course these were both equally lovely. Nothing appeared to be a problem for our server, when we left we tipped the waitress as she had made our experience an enjoyable one. This establishment isn't overly expensive and the food is certainly of a good standard, the chief presents it well, no microwave here!! Family friendly, with a good atmosphere. Food Critic recommended place to eat.

Was brought as a surprise from my best friend on Monday. We didn't realise it was quiz night but didn't spoil the evening at all. Had run out of pulled pork Wellington so I ordered the lamb with cauliflower cheese. Piping hot and delicious! Gavin brought my profiteroles with a candle in and everyone sang happy birthday to me. Had a lovely evening, thank you so much

Greeted by warm friendly staff and was directed to our booked table for the unlimited breakfast. Venue was clean and tidy and very quiet at the time of our arrival. The buffet that was laid out was plentiful and fresh and can be accessed as many times as you like whilst waiting for your cooked breakfast (cooked to order). The cooked breakfast was piping hot and portion sizes are very generous. Overall, the experience was a very pleasant one and highly recommend.

Excellent service. Excellent food. Excellent vegetarian choice. Could not fault anything. Thank you for a great evening

User

Excellent meal served by friendly staff - would definitely eat here again.

User

Not enough staff on duty, so service slow, but not to worry we were in no hurry.

breakfast plenty of food available, nice fresh fruit, egg on toast very poor egg shell in the egg, poorly poached, poor presentation, didn't complain if the Chef or who ever was supposed to poach the egg, plus the server can't recognise a poorly poached egg with eggshell in it, then it's not worth going again.

Accommodation at the Premier was good for the price, nice and clean, comfortable, bargain price.

User

It’s ok.... chef doesn’t appear to know the difference between well done and medium rare when it comes to steak but other than that is ok.... good choice of food and good atmosphere

User

Food great but service slow.

It’s a real shame. We’ve been quite a few times but the service can be appallingly slow. Last night it was an hour between orders being taken and the food arriving at the table. Not even a mention to say it’s on its way at some point.

Food was great though.

Turned up early for dinner tonight, place wasn’t busy at all, was completely ignored by 4 staff members before they happily served the regulars that came in after us! While serving them made it clear they were full and when I asked if they had a quick table for 2 their reply was a snotty ‘well haven’t you booked?’

Not impressed at all - we left and took our business elsewhere instead!

User

Overpriced and over cooked , had a lobster burger 🍔 the lobster was no where to be seen , and in batter!! With 2 buyers 😒....asked for medium rare steak was well done and tough , would not return there

User

Will not be returning. Poor customer service and the food wasn’t great either!!

Turned up on a Monday morning expecting a friendly welcoming, and to be seated. Instead my sister and I were greeted with "are you from the hotel" Not "Good Morning are you from the hotel". It felt like it was to much trouble to find us a table, instead we just walked out. To top this off it was my birthday and all we were trying to do was find a nice pub to sit down and relax and enjoy breakfast together. After the cold welcoming and it being too much trouble to find a table for two, think it's safe to say we won't be returning.

User

My girlfriend and I ate at the Hobbs Boat tonight and will not be returning. It took well over 15 minutes to even take our drinks order. We had been sat down 10 minutes before realising that our assigned waiter was chatting to his friends at the table across from us the entire time. We finally ordered our main, rib eye steaks (medium rare). The steak we received was so well done it was inedible and we had to send it back. I will say that the food we received back was much better but the attitude of the waiter throughout our dining experience was laughable, more interested in talking to people he knew than waiting the few tables he had to send to. This review wouldn't have been so low if I hadn't witnessed 2 other tables out 4 in our vicinity complain about their meals. The icing on the cake for our evening was when our bill arrived, we had been charged for the 2 pepper sauces that we initially received with the over cooked steaks that were sent back to the kitchen. Overall, the pub/restaurant seemed poorly run, lots of waiting around for frankly, mediocre food.

User

Mother’s Day meal spoilt!! :( didn’t have are table we reserved, to be put on someone else’s reserved table, one next to the door with are young child. Had to find are own highchair, no drink orders taken. We booked the Mother’s Day menu to be told it wasn’t available as it wasn’t on the system to then be told we could have it. Sadly we didn’t eat and left due to being made to feel very unwelcome and an inconvenience.
